❤ thanks for the great video Michael. Many years ago, I gave myself the goal to encourage everyone that I could. Sometimes that meant telling a woman that she looked attractive today or questioning a neighbor if they have lost some weight and whether or not they did I said that they were looking trim. That only takes a minute to encourage someone. And the funny thing is that it lifts me up as well. Thank you for reminding us of this simple gift we can give to everyone that we see on a daily basis including family and friends. After a while, this behavior becomes automatic. 1:54

Thanks for the comments, Peggy. That is a great goal that you set for yourself, and I'm sure that the "seeds" of positivity and encouragement that you've spread have blossomed in the lives of others. Keep at it!

Thanks for mentioning other prescription drugs. Im 3 months off ritalin and its the hardest thing ever. Im also currently recovering from a laberal tear surgery. My withdrawal symptom currently is unable to focus. Tunnel vision when driving. Derealization possibly? Anxiety

almost 4 months off of benzodiazepines after 3 years of use. just got out of a really bad wave - it is crazy how acute the withdrawal can still be at this far out. i am 32, healthy weight, no underlying health issues. i was exercising just a couple weeks ago but this wave made it to where i could barely leave my bed from such bad muscle pain. starting to get better now. thanks for the encouragement.
@TheLovelyGrind

That stuff will get better, just keep at it. Four months off the meds is fantastic progress. Remember, the waves always pass and you come out on the other side at an even better baseline. Keep at your process, greater and greater improvements await!

At 74, doctor addicted( dependent) ,on the drug, (med,) clonazepam. All my family have died, no relatives, no friends left, two friends who committed suicide during the worst of Covid. I have no support structure, no scaffolding, no encouragement, advice or empathy , not even my GP, to properly taper from this pernicious drug. I feel that I'm just waiting to die.

The lovely grind, please tell me something (ive been searching for months), does benzo withdrawal damage the brain gaba receptors and they dont go back to function normally for some people? Please reply im really scared that there is no healing due to this or extremely prolonged healing (many many years of suffering). Please help.
@TheLovelyGrind
@TheLovelyGrind Год назад
My story is a story of healing, and there are many more out there. I was on benzos for more than a dozen years, and at times taking 4-6 mg plus daily. With all due respect, you are focusing on the wrong question. You ought to ask, "Is it possible that people heal, that the receptors heal, after benzo use, even after prolonged or heavy use?" And if you asked me that, I would say "Yes, people do heal. Myself and others, there is evidence of healing!" Then, once you hear that answer, you have the knowledge that healing happens, and hope. So go out there and get your better future! Focus on the positive, stay away from negative crap online, and don't entertain fear-based doubts that your brain will try to throw out you. You can rest assured that healing happens, so go grab it for yourself now!

Hey! Thanks for the motivational video. Did you experience severe acid reflux during the taper??
@TheLovelyGrind
@TheLovelyGrind Год назад
Probably man, I don't remember. I kind of had a lot going on symptom-wise at the time...But it is a common malady in society in general, and a few years back I had it pretty badly. Not eating/drinking too late at night, and limiting carbs/sugar all helped to fix it. The past year I've been on a really low sugar diet (like Keto) and that basically seems to eliminate problems with acid reflux for the most part. Take care!

Am 5 and half months into tapering antidepressants … down to half a tablet on alternate days. Bought book RECOVERY AND RENEWAL by Baylissa Frederick as recommended by one of your viewers … such a good book!! Such a great help … full of optimism and hope. I too recommend it. Thankyou so much for your videos Michael 🙏🏼

Yes, a good book (better to look at that when feeling down than going on an unproductive place online). And you've very welcome for the videos, Cherry. Keep up your progress; it is a worthy goal and a special path you are on!

Just a word of advice, skipping doses, and taking half a pill every other day can worsen withdrawal symptoms. It’s better to take 1/4 pill and take it each day.

Hi Michael, I wrote to you 4 years ago. At the time, I was a caregiver for my mom with dementia and was on 1.5 mg Alprazolam at bedtime. Since then, my mom passed in December 2019 and as we all know, the world has become a different place. I hadn't even given tapering a second thought until recently. I've been on this poison for 8 years now and 68 and it's time to get off it. I've talked to my prescriber and a couple of doctors and they literally haven't a clue. "Just cut it in half and then half that amount and you'll be off in a month or two." ????????????? I'm going to slowly dry cut small measured amounts. Can you recommend any books? I don't want to change to something like the Ashton Method by switching to something else. Take care.
@TheLovelyGrind
@TheLovelyGrind Год назад
I'm sorry about your mother's passing, but great to hear you are still focused on improving your health. As far as withdrawal specific books, I guess I could only recommend Recovery and Renewal by Baylissa Fredericks. Otherwise, I think that a good devotional book, such as Moments of Peace in the Presence of God, helps to find daily focus, and any uplifting book that focuses on total wellness or personal stories of hope and personal triumph are great. Find a type of person that interests you (actor, singer, adventurer, etc.) and read some biographies. Odds are their stories will encourage you!

Many thanks Michael. Half way through my tapping from Xanax. Sometime last year I messaged you about exercising. Was having trouble with my muscles tightening from the taper. Finally worked out what I can do. Get on a 400metre track and walk backwards. Great for your brain balance concentration. No pressure on your knees. Helps strengthen your core. Then two laps jogging backwards good cardio for me. All this through your encouragement 🎉 Your a wonderful human. Much love from down under ❤

Just found your channel. O was cutting down a Klonopin dose faster than I was supposed to. I had to go back up to 0.38. I'm so close. I get new symptoms everytime i reduce the dose, it's very frustrating. Stopping completely scares me as well

Try to focus on the benefits that will come with being free of the medication. Yes, you are getting close. Focus on why you are wanting to be free of the meds, and then move forward with courage and hope. Years after you are off the meds, you will barely remember many of the symptoms!
