Specifically, when the Edilon Bahamut is restored by the forces of evil to break the seal of his entrapment to bring destruction and thus renewal to the land. The heroes are fighting a war against his servants while the chosen use their magic to reengage the binding. This magic always consumes the life of the person who wields it and they are then brought into the light as a guardian who uses their power to bind Bahamut. These are gods and they always come back. Its up to heroes to put them back and stop the forces from gathering strength.

Power is for protection. Attacks are only on those who have no purpose to exist whatsoever and who are suffering and wanting to die. The goal is bring light to darkness and cancel out past wrongs.
Suggestion: Song 'Asking Price' with a different person who died for their comrades every time the chorus repeats. Ideally each from a different series.
