Within Temptation is an arena filling headliner in Europe, but many Iron Maiden fans in South Dakota likely didn't even know who they are. So sad. I hope this tour gets them exposure in the United States they deserve.
@@clsrocks007 This is a way to get exposure, but it would have been better if Within Temptation had made it across the pond years ago. The vibe in the States is different now than it was back in the day even with Iron Maiden. People with floor passes that just stand around are no fun. I don't want mosh pits and that foolery, but headbangers that don't head bang and act like they are ready to retire is sort of deflating. Compare that to Europe or South America, and it isn't even close for metal bands. It didn't help that Iron Maiden bypassed the Twin Cities and ended up in a dive in South Dakota. There would have been a better chance for Within Temptation fans to show up in St. Paul. Fellow symphonic metal band Nightwish does tour in the States each couple years, but they don't bring their full light show, video boards, and pyro effect, so it is not the same show as in Europe. Having Nightwish and Within Temptation on a bill in larger venues with full effects would be great, but I don't know if North American fans are up to the task.
@@Too-Odd i hundred percent agree with all you said. Symphonic metal does not have a big market in the states. Epica Eluvetie have big following in EU but fall flat when they come to North America. I guess the bands know it too n thus don’t wanna bring their full for e here. Even for maiden people did not know songs like the clansman which was so disappointing man. Hopefully this will change in future
Agreed. Nightwish is another one that gets no respect in the states. I knew of WT, Paradise is my favorite of theirs, was happy to hear it. After seeing Rammstien in August I didn’t think anyone would top their show but Iron Maiden was right there!
