Ik hoop dat het concert nu eindelijk doorgaat in Amsterdam. Ze zijn echt een band die live net zo goed zijn als in de studio.

A lot of people write with filler lyrics that are basically placeholders , which also makes sense with him being the composer and her being the lyricist

For me Simone Simons is at the top of that list, but Sharon is definitely high up there.

It’s a great song, but Within Temptation’s music is waaaay better. :p And if rock or metal or big symphonic music isn’t your thing, she also released an indie folky pop album just a few years ago, called My Indigo. It’s really quite lovely. :)

@@nepsens6193 I’m talking about the music of Within Temptation, the band led and fronted by Sharon den Adel. Since you said In and Out of Love is the “best song ever”, I’m saying that I think the music she has released with her symphonic rock band is much better than that song. But yeah, I do like that song too.

I’ve always been under the impression that they came up with the music and melody first, and the “Believer” lyrics were just filler to have an idea of what the song would sound like. Those demo lyrics are extremely repetitive, and not very good, haha. So Sharon probably wouldn’t consider Believer to be an actual part of the song, and the Ice Queen that we know and love is what the song really is meant to be. At least that’s what I’d think.

Ik was een pure 90's R&Ber maar dit vond ik zo een supergoed nummer. Het was voor mij zo ongelooflijk dat dit een Nederlandse productie was.

He is still in Delain. And the new album will be amazing. Martijn also wrote music for the Mother Earth album. And the previous Within Temptation albums are also partly written by Martijn.

@@headlibrarian1996 The whole band broke up. Creative differences, as is always the case. But Martijn said he would continue under the Delain name with other singers. So who knows, he might do an Ayreon thing of having guest singers on his albums.

dat is interessant, maar in feite stamt iedereeen van heeel veel mensen af. Je bent half je oudes, een kwart je schoonoudes, 1/8e je overgrootouders...Het aantal neemt exponentieel toe hoe verder je terug gaat en binnen de korste keren zit je op 1000 mensen..en dan is dirck den adel er eentje van, maar ook niet meer dan eentje

If you're not the type of person who likes metal and rock then yea,but they are still popular.

They were mostly famous in Europe, especially in their earlier years. I don’t think Ice Queen made any impact in Australia at the time. Keep in mind this was even before Evanescence released Bring Me To Life, so this type of music was less mainstream than it is now. Even this band has become more mainstream and they have a much more global following now, but they’re still fantastic. :)

@@Top2000agogo How nice would it be to also make an item about Nightwish / Floor Jansen? Nightwish is the biggest band in the genre and Within Temptation is probably the second biggest band. The story of how Floor joined Nightwish in the middle of a world tour is stunning and how she made Ghost Love Score her own and turned it into an absolute classic during the same tour is very interesting. I would love to see this story being told as well in Top 2000 a Gogo. And having Nightwish and Within Temptation in the same show is a treat for the fans :-).
