Their best album for me personally but when I saw this, I was like WTH... they are still a great band, but sad they steered so much towards the commercial mainstream nowadays :( I guess kids nowadays want the show more than the music. It's sad tbh, like everything being autotuned. Yes it creates "perfection" every time, but it takes all the imperfections out which create the emotion and feeling out of the music. Kids are emotionless enough alrdy nowadays... (and dont take me wrong, not saying Sharon uses autotune, was ment as an example in modern music as a whole)

Me as well, too bad nostalgia is a mental disorder describing melancholy for loss. And so it is for this powerful and catchy sound that has been replaced by benign regular rock or metal, that was not in need of being piled on by such a great band.

Whenever I hear this song, I remember playing this way too loud in my bedroom with the windows open. When I came downstairs, my dad, who is unfortunately no longer with us, looked up from his newspaper and said: 'Her voice sounds a bit like Kate Bush.' Him being a great fan, it was his way of approving to this song.

This song was what got me into WT, even though all other songs are incredible, I just keep coming back to this one, my top favourite. I could listen to it a million times and not get bored of it, Sharon’s voice is just insanely beautiful. Also I went through an entire collection of WT songs yesterday afternoon and could fall asleep to them since they just are so relaxing / epic to me, even though it’s metal

@@Iris_the_british_cat Not even. Within Temptation is a totally different style. Both bands started at the same time in the early 90s and have always done their own thing. So why would they copy a band that wasn't anything when they were either? If you want a band that trys to sound like NW, look at Xandros or Amaranth.

Dear Sharon, I myself am from The Hague and i was at the concert last night (wednesday november 30th 2022) at the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. And i just wanted to come out here to tell you both you and Amy Lee were awesome. I loved it so much, you 2 gave me goosebumps and If i could go see either of you live again, i would in a heartbeat. No they don't. Things like this making it to the charts are the great exception from the rule. Maybe it was just a particular hot summer, and we craved a little cooling so much that we kept playing a song, any song, about an Ice Queen on repeat :-)

Гениальный клип. Певица супер, и внешне, и поёт, музыканты создают удачный фон, суровые как я не знаю что, поднятые снимать клип с бодуна, лысый гитарист вообще лютый, спец по компутерным эффектам, видимо, вместе с ними бухал, и спецэффекты настолько плохи, что это даже хорошо. Оценка 12 из 12.

If any confused Dutchies are watching, yes, this is a different video from the one shown in the Netherlands at the time. :D That version has a woman lying on a bed, looking up information on the band on her laptop while footage from live shows is played. Maybe WT will upload that one for the 20 year anniversary later. :)

The blatant chroma key, the questionable special effects, the overly-high pitched vocals, the outfits, the concept, EVERYTHING here is perfection. I really miss the early 2000s symphonic metal scene, although WT has matured beautifully through the years.

Just heard this song after several years and suddenly I was crying, didnt know why. Then I rememered that I was listening to this song always, when the best friend of my father drove me somewhere. He always said "Cant listen to this with my wife, luckily you are here now" He died 2011. I miss him.

I was today, 44 years old when I realized that this was not a dumb pop hit but a total underappreciated pop metal masterpiece that failed to get the recognition it deserved when it was released (by me as much as anyone else). I never gave it the credit it deserved as either a metal song or a pop hit. And even if it won't likely be in my personal top lists, I think this totally deserves to be recognized as the timeless and influential anthem that it is.

IKR? Now it seems to me WT releases of nowadays is just a long line of "featuring" artists performing alongside Sharon. Some are better than others (eg. Tarja) and overall I don't mind the newer albums but I really miss the older WT sound.

Были великие музыканты , такие как нирвана металлика , роб зомби систем оф э даун , но их время прошло . А эта группа даёт такого жару причём ещё с тех времен и хиты не стареют . Умнички . Браво 👏

ЛОЛ, чем они великие? Тем, что в них влили кучу денег и раскрутили? На деле, музыкальное мастерство указанных вами групп довольно посредственное. К примеру, "великий" Хэммет никогда не может повторить на концерте соляк, записанный на альбоме, а у SOAD вообще элементарные музыкальные партии и одинаковые завывания Танкяна. В целом, в каждом из жанров, в которых выступали указанные вами группы, были по-настоящему пионеры жанра и действительно хорошие музыканты.
