The Silent Force es el tercer álbum musical de estudio del grupo holandés Within Temptation. Los colocó como los nuevos líderes del movimiento gótico europeo. Su anterior trabajo fue el exitoso álbum “Mother Earth” (2001). Para la grabación del disco han contado con una orquesta de 80 músicos y un coro Ruso, además de múltiples instrumentos clásicos, profundos bajos y diversos instrumentos. Éste fue el disco decisivo para darle fama y comercialidad al grupo. La canción "Somewhere" fue versionada por Anneke van Giersbergen en su álbum Pure Air de 2009, a dueto con la misma Sharon.
