Its been 3 years since I was with my abusive ex fiance. He was in jail for 9 months and during that time my emotional and mental well being depleted so badly that I went to psychiatric care as well as a 3 month rehab stint that curbed some of my dependency issues, but not the drinking. I saw this video on Facebook one day, and immediately burst into tears. I'm not an emotional person. After finding this video I set the second chorus of this song as my ringtone specifically for when my ex fiance was calling me. I have PTSD related to my ex, now. I cant go to certain places without feeling physically ill. I cant hear certain sounds without being taken out of the present and going somewhere really, very dark. It doesnt happen often, but when it does, its gut wrenching. So I look up this song sometimes when I can stand it. And whenever I get to that point in the song where the synth starts screaming in the background as the tension in the videos choreography builds (the same part of the song that was my ringtone for so long) a part of me always crumbles a little bit more inside. But it's so damn beautiful that I cant help but come back again. Thank you guys. I cant tell you how much this song and video quite literally saved my life back during that time. I think of it often.
