So great to see you doing your tapestry! I started to weave 5 minutes ago 😊after a weaving pause of 15 years at arts university.😊..so glad to see how I could use all my fabrics and yarn leftovers for a grand piece of art. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.💚👍🌷

Wow I REALLY love how you named the techniques and even highlighted each area where you used them. I haven't seen anyone else do that. It makes it so much easier to see/plan/follow the project as a whole. And it's SUCH a great way to avoid having to explain all the basics, but still make the project possible for beginners like me. I'm so impressed!! Sub from me for sure ❤️

I love how you use things you already have at home for your weaving - table legs, instead of a $300+ loom, etc. And your final piece looks amazing! Thanks for the great video! 👏🏻 💖 👏🏻

I'm a weaver, and I liked your wall hanging, don't worry about it getting dirty, you can either run the vacuum cleaner hose (no nossel), or take it off the rod and put it through the drier on cool of course and that'll get any dust off it, only do it for a very short time as you don't want to felt it. Cheers!
@FeralCreatureOfIncredibleRoses
i do crochet from time to time, and gurl let me tell you, those yarns that shes using are NOT dyer or vacuum friendly. Any yarn that sheds like that needs to be kept clean without these methods, it could ruin the original texture. That being said, a good way to ensure an easy clean up is to use a bulky t shirt yarn. You can used them online, or recycle by cutting up some old t shirts! This way nothing sheds!!
@howlingwind1937
@howlingwind1937 5 лет назад
@@FeralCreatureOfIncredibleRoses oh thank you for your message, personally I've always had a good outcome using either method, obviously you need to exercise good supervision, and being very particular and gentle using the small brush head on my vacuum cleaner. Thank you. Cheers!

This was so informative! Thanks for sharing your skills in such an approachable way :) I've been wanting to try making tapestries but always get stuck thinking I'm not following proper technique. It's nice to see someone explore the flexibility and variety of textures available when free form weaving !
@withwendy
@withwendy 5 лет назад
I've found tapestry to be a nice level of flexibility where if you make a mistake you can often go back to correct it, or if you step back and want to change something you can, so as far as crafts go it's been a nice one to pick up!

IDK how your video showed up under my suggestions, but I'm so glad I clicked on it! I've never thought of creating such a wall hanging (a tapestry with random design) but after watching your tutorial I'm interested in trying this. Not only does the process look relaxing, the weaving back and forth. But the texture is very compelling to me, a tactile person who loves to touch things. You can usually see my fingers grazing across the decorative pillows in the department store. 😍 Or even the sides of pottery in the gardening center. I also love yarn and cording. I love to crochet and knit. So I am compelled to create your tapestry just so my fingers could enjoy touching the weaves and loops and hanging strings. ❤ Thank you!

Wendy, I am new to your channel and I find this to be fabulous. I think I have a similar love to you (as I'm sure many do here) of structure and free flow art. Again, I thank you so much for this, I have forwarded it to several friends and I'll look at your other video's as well.

I am a weaver and I love it! I use a floor loom mostly and I make table runners, towels, scarves and material to see clothing. I have made tapestries and enjoy that as well. I wanted to share another easy pattern. Instead of tabby ...over one, under one...go over two and under two. As in tabby weave the next row would be under two and over two, etc. Thank you for sharing your love of weaving! I find your weaving color pallets beautiful. I am a subscriber now!

I wish they would have had a course like this back in the late 80's to early 90's I would have taken it for sure. Very Beautiful! You are an excellent teacher and explain things so well.
