9:13 True power with all OP chilrens, all extra exp grind paralogue but still need Dragon Vein??? Lmao. Otherwise stay behind Vantages skill trick so lame, so lazy. Why so weak??? So weak
You alright buddy? He literally states that the Dragon Vein makes no difference. Besides, care to elaborate on the “challenge” you’re looking for? Oh and most of the “OP children” you mention see like two rounds of combat on this clear (well, Percy and Velouria do, Shigure and Nina are rallybots). This is a demonstration about how Ophelia can solve one of the most controversial and difficult maps in Fates, let alone the whole series, I think it’s pretty logical that she would be the star of the show (and if you’ve watched Zoran’s other videos, you’ll know she can contribute in other maps).
People all told me I was crazy for thinking Fates is the best fire emblem game. Sure the story isn't the greatest, but the diversity in units and builds leaves practically endless possibilities of builds. Also, although it is broken, the fact they added full multiplayer is super cool.
I don’t know if I’d call it my favorite of the whole series, but I’ve always really liked Fates’ battle mechanics, difficulty curve, and more involved class system. It’s easily my favorite of the 3DS FEs.
I still maintain that Fates' core mechanics (Reclassing, Skill acquisition Pair Up, Dual Strike/Guard systems ect.) are my favorites in the whole series. Each of the games have their own issues, but I still think their cores are pretty fantastic.
@@andrewkos5560 Best in the whole series. I think they should have maintained fates mechanics throughout the series. I also do love the academy mechanics in 3H. Hopefully they combined both of it
I have beaten this map exactly once, and also without Rescue chaining straight to the end. It's been a while, but I think my main plan was to wipe out the Maids and Great Masters immediately, using Silence to avoid the Enfeebles as my entire army advanced and stood strong against everyone. To this day this is still one of my favourite Fire Emblem maps period, because the way I played it forced me to go on the offensive (because if you take too long, reinforcements can overwhelm you) and the defensive (if you charge ahead too quickly you'll be overwhelmed by the debuffs and all of the initial groups of enemies). I had to advance quickly but carefully, basically. And yet watching this I feel like I probably could've done it better or more efficiently. Watching your videos has kind of opened my eyes on just how complex this game truly is in terms of what sorts of skills you can pick up for your units, and also to what strategies you can employ. I've never once done the Shelter Azura chaining stuff, but proper use of that lets Azura refresh multiple units in a single turn. I never thought Sorcerer would be any good because I thought magic was nerfed hard in this game, and yet here, both Odin and Ophelia are the shining stars of the show. Getting me to reconsider some things from a game I've played through like ten times and one I thought I was long and done with is fantastic. Great videos, great narration and commentary.
One of my favourite video on the internet, I myself never completed any maddening/lunatic run besides 3 houses. So this level of detail & planning never ceases to amaze. Instead sub for Zoran the FE god
So statistically, I wonder if I didn't find an equally reliable strat that requires less Ophelia investment? I just did this map last night, but my Ophelia did not have Tomefaire nor Mag+2 (Malig Elise pairup btw). I remembered this video, but did not look up your exact strats. I put her in the same place funnily enough, with Shurikenbreaker Mech Mozu!Soleil approximately fulfilling Odin's positioning. Great minds I guess :P I ended up clutching it with Ophelia tho because, although she had insufficient damage stack, I gave her back Vengeance, figuring that the ~40% chance + her ~30% crit with Calamity gate/~50% crit with Excalibur would give her good odds of killing. Firstly, it worked FIRST TRY AND WAS SUPER HYPE but also the slot for Heartseeker gave her much better hit vs the Onis, and also would've against the Paladin/Dark Knights had I replicated that bit (I managed to avoid them entirely by using mobile units such as my 2 Soleils, Boots Malig Corrin, Kinshi Effie, MNinja Laslow to do the other combat and finish Takumi). Also, despite being in range of several enfeebles, all Generals and Ninjas suicided on her before enfeeble was used. So on the one hand, I relied on Vengeance/crit procs, but on the other you had several very dubious hit rates that you relied on for effectively the same result. With some tweaks, I wonder which is statistically more reliable? (Love this vid and all your others btw. this was my first lunatic run and Ophelia, Soleil and wyv!Elise were all so incredibly fun to use! I also had a ton of fun with Laslow instead of Silas who I made work according to that guide ❤)
I can beat Endgame without rescue as well. I use entrap instead. A 9 move Corrin with Gunter on her back gets there in two turns. I use a bunch of silence and freeze staffs turn 1 just to make sure the path is free and Corrin doesn't get enfeebled. The silence isn't needed if Gunter has boots, but that just seems like such a waste.
Of course you would make me want to suddenly give my least favorite FE game another shot 😂. Real talk though, keep up the good work man, you've actually changed my perception of how to play. My biggest "eye opening" moment was when you showed just how nuts classing into armored knight for the insane base def early can be to help out in a 3H maddening run.
Conquest is really straight up good. Glad this guys stuff is making you considering playing it again. By some miracle conquest is one of the best FE games in spite of the flaws surrounding fates as a whole
Jesus christ you are so sick, btw im starting to play conquest lunatic and i'm having a hard time deciding which pairings I should go for, you would'nt happen to know or have some kind of page or guide to see which ones i should go for and why?
It’s a complicated topic. In Awakening, the things that mattered for pairings were pair-up stats and class/skill access on children. Fates adds the Friendship and Partner seals, which make it so that you don’t necessarily want to keep just one pairing for the whole game: sometimes you want a unit to get A+/S with one person for an important new class, then match with someone else, perhaps for a second new class or just for stats. The Attack Stance mechanic makes it so you don't necessarily pair your units up all the time. And there's no real postgame like Awakening's Apotheosis, so join times matter a lot to get the most out of your pairings. Here are some pairings that I like: - Arthur x Effie S for a good early Percy - Effie A+ with Mozu for access to Kinshi Knight & Quick Draw (which Percy can inherit, potentially) - Silas A+ with Kaze so he can become a Master Ninja with Sol access - Silas x Camilla S because the two of them work together really well in Attack Stance, they give each other useful class trees, and their daughter, Sophie, is very strong - Xander A+ with Laslow or S with Selena/Charlotte for Hero; unmounted Siegfried access is useful near endgame - Selena A+ with Beruka/Camilla so she gets the Wyvern class tree; you can finish the support chain in just four maps - Jakob x Azura S because Jakob!Shigure uniquely inherits Wyvern Rider; he can pick up Rally Spd/Def/Res fast, or he can be a great combat unit in his own right
Specifically in Chapter 26-Xander's one of the best units to break through the southern room that's filled with Berserkers and Generals, but many of the Generals have Beast Killers.
I arrive very late, but some very solid pairings are: Corrin: -Corrin x Jakob: gets one paring out of the way very early and can give Jakob access to good classes (namely, Wivern Rider). -Corrin x Felicia: same, but for magical classes. Not as good as Corrin x Jakob, tho. -Corrin x Silas: can be unlocked early and gives both of them access to good classes. -Corrin x Arthur: the best early pairing for physical Corrins. Jakob: Jakob x Corrin (see above). Jakob x Azura: good pairing if Corrin is male or already taken. Felica: Felicia x Corrin (see above). Felicia x Leo: benefits both of them; not the best pair-up for Leo, tho. Felicia x Niles:makes a good magical Nina. Felicia x Benny: both units really need the pair-up bonuses provided by their partner's class. Also, passing Tomebreaker down to Ignatius makes his recruitment chapter sooo much easier. The above are not that great overall, but Felicia is not a terribly good mother anyway. SIlas: Silas x Corrin (see above). Silas x Effie: solid pair up-bonuses, mediocre Sophie. Silas x Camilla/Beruka: gives good classes to both of them and makes a very good Sophie. Silas x Mozu: gives good classes to both of them and makes a very good Sophie. Arthur: Arthur x Corrin: see above. Arthur x Effie: makes a good Percy. Also, Effie loves Berserker. Arthur x Mozu: makes an even better Percy. Arthur x Camilla: gives good classes to both of them. Penalizes Percy. Odin: Odin x Elise. Niles: Niles x Azura: by far the best pair-up, as it gives you two perfects staff-bots for endgame. Also, Niles loves Kinshi Knight Azura: Azura x Jakob: see above. Azura x Niles: see above. Kaze: Kaze x Beruka: both of them benefit from the bonuses provided by their partner's class. Also, gives both of them access to good classes. KAze x Azura: this pair-up exists just to pass down Luck +4 to Midori and maximize her chances of obatining gold bars. Kaze x Camilla: gives both of them access to good classes. Laslow (not a great parent: anyone who doesn't screw Soleil's Hp and Speed, and gives Laslow an extra rally is good). If no such parent is available, a classic Laslow x Peri should do it. Benny (not a good parent and Ignatius is not a good kid. Usually Benny gets leftover moms, like Beruka or Selena). I would push for Benny x Felicia for the reasons stated above, tho. Keaton: Keaton x Camilla: gives Camilla excellent pair-up bonuses and access to hero, and makes an amazing Veluria. Leo: Leo x Nyx: gives Leo everything he needs (extra mag, movement and speed). Makes and excellent pair-up bot Forrest. Xander: Xander x Charlotte: best pair-up. Gives him strength, speed and access to Hero. Xander x Selena: second best pair-up. Gives him speed (and, potentially, resistance), and access to Hero.
One of these days I would love to see what you could do in a full Conquest run, if both the No Growth and Train Everyone runs are anything to go by. Let alone how Mozu can be used
Hey Zoran! I happened upon this video (as if I didn’t watch this on repeat while playing Fates) because I finally completed Birthright this afternoon. I was wondering: would Ophelia be better off as a Witch, if we were to consider path bonuses? It still has Excalibur access (and the juicy Atk boost from S-Rank), not sure about the rest of her stats with this specific build.
@@Zoran501 I see. A Witch would have had even more trouble with that sketchy hit rate at the beginning, I’d imagine. Guess I’ll stick to Sorcerer then. Thanks for the quick reply!
Just build all six +Mag statues available in Conquest (requiring at least 50 kills each for 5 of them and 100 for Dwyer), then get a blessed Odin who earns three more magic than his average, marry him to Diviner/Mage Corrin, and feed him all five Spirit Dusts and the Dragon Herbs for +11 so that he hits 42. easy
Hey Zoran, I’m a bit new to Fates and I’m wondering how to replicate this. Do you mind sharing the class pathways/levels Ophelia has to go through to get these skills? I have no idea at what time/level I should be using seals to reclass her to get the skills that she has in the video. Thanks!
In this case, Ophelia inherited Vantage from her dad, and she went Sorcerer 9-Master of Arms 11 (to clear out the two remaining skills in that line before L&D)-Onmyoji 15 (for Tomefaire)-Master of Arms 16 (for Life and Death)-Sorcerer. Instead of going to Onmyoji via Corrin marriage, it’s also possible for Ophelia to get Strong Riposte through Soleil friendship and eventually grab Trample, either through her mother or by marrying Percy. But Trample doesn’t work against the mounted enemies at the south end of this map, so keep that in mind. Because of the steep experience falloff on Lunatic, it’s not feasible to get Tomefaire & L&D until relatively late-around Chapter 23, if you’re just playing story missions. But the paralogues for the all-routes children have some very high-level enemies, so if you can do those, you can pick up the level-15 skills right after chapter 20 (when you can buy unlimited seals).
Zoran Awesome dude, thanks for the reply. When do you recommend reclassing Odin into Samurai and then Master of Arms? I’m currently on chapter 10, and I used both of my heart seals for wyvern Elise and archer Mozu.
Before chapter 14 is generally best so that you can get Ophelia before chapter 16. I have another HTTYO on that. If you want to save a few seals, then go for it in chapter 18 instead. Ophelia comes with an Offspring Seal after that, and if you want to keep using Odin, he doesn’t necessarily have to use up two of the five early Heart Seals if you go for Vantage that late.
I was wondering when someone would catch that! It's Fierce Mien, Benny's personal skill, which I put on Leo when I was messing around with hacked skills. I forgot to take it off before recording this.
Fun fact: 20/20 Berserker Effie rams her cap of 43 Str on average, and 43 is the exact number she needs to one-round Takumi with the Brave Axe, Axefaire + Quick Draw (via Mozu) + Puissance stack, Rally Str, Fancy Footwork, Berserker Arthur support, and a tonic
ROM path is the romfs file dumped from your game (you can dump RomFS with Citra by right-clicking the game there). Project path is the location you want Paragon to save your mod files to
Out of curiosity, why dark knight corrin instead of sorcerer for the +5 mag pair up? Also, if you use +mag/-def, you can squeeze an extra +1 mag, though I can see why that would be less inviting for the rest of the game. Lastly, why no +2 mag meal?
