Damn...he owned that scene and that's saying a lot considering who he was playing against. As for Barbara Stanwyck...I could listen to her voice all day....it was like scotch on the rocks.
Actually Babs is damn fine here herself: notice how utterly convincing she is as trapped, that pause at the first of the scene that is just right instead of rushing things, a lot of other acresses even nearly as good as she would not have made this scene work. But righto, nobody like George; utterly irreplaceable.
Pellicola molto bella, certo nulla di eccezionale ma comunque è una pellicola che regge, quindi molto bella e molto bella per me come valutazione è 7,5.
Sadly, the very handsome and talented Mr. George Sanders committed suicide in 1972. I cried when I found out some years ago. Just so sad and unbelievable that he gave up on life. He's one of my all-time favorite actors. I especially like him in Rebecca.
D E A R V I E W E R S , Please, whenever you find an excellent-quality upload (certainly this one), do remember to click on THUMBS UP above. Here, out of 13,365 viewers, only 28 have bothered to spend a second to click on THUMBS UP in appreciation of this delightful scene from "Witness to Murder" (1954). Thanks.
Divisionone1 - Sorry about any confusion I might have caused. Yes, of course, this is just a clip of a pretty good movie. My original comment was with a view to VIDEO UPLOADS in general, especially, of course, in reference to full movies. . . . You must have noticed that in recent times on RU-vid there have been many botched up, butchered video uploads that are selfishly and avariciously put up on RU-vid at the viewers' expense. So, one way we viewers can play a small part in helping to improve the standards and qualities of UPLOADS is via "ratings," i.e. by means of sending a message to RU-vid/Google (clicking on the THUMBS UP - as in this case, albeit just a clip - whenever we find a properly uploaded video while, conversely, clicking Thumbs Down for the mangled up videos with one or more issues that make them unwatchable). Thank you very much.
A T T E N T I O N , P L E A S E ! Dear Pocketfulofmiracles! Once I've seen a wonderful movie (such as "Witness to Murder") more than a few times (and that's not to say I won't be watching it in its entirety in the future) . . . oh, how I love to watch some of the particular scenes of the movie over and over and over again! I have playlisted this scene, and it automatically comes up among other movie scenes and full movies; I never get fed up enjoying it! Don't we often base our fondness for a movie because of some specific scenes (for instance, several in "Witness to Murder"; over a dozen in "North By Northwest"; numerous in "The Maltese Falcon" (1941) - even the 1931 Pre-Code version of the TMF, etc., etc.?). Sometimes it's also the score of a movie ("Vertigo") or the gorgeous sceneries (San Francisco's in "Vertigo"). . . . I hope more scenes from this movie will soon be uploaded on RU-vid. Thank you very much!
