It was not clear late Thursday who fired first, but it ended with a man dead and a neighborhood in disbelief. CBS 2's Jermont Terry reports.

@@johnottway8074 I grew up in the town next to Valpo and I graduated Valpo Law school ranked 75 out of 150 Law schools in America. The point is , I have never known anyone on welfare or food stamps all the years I lived there but of course that was 30 years ago.

@@johnottway8074 When I was growing up everyone, I mean everyone worked in the steel mills and made a very good living They are all gone because of the unions and the incredible lazy workers. I work at a steel mill one summer I guess you would call it a college job. I could go on for hours regarding the stealing and corruption. It appears Valpo has changed but so is all of this country This country is domed.

stop CAPPING, while I've never been there, I've driven by Valparaiso many times along I-94 while driving across the midwest and it comes across as just another W trash community with crime to me....

I'm from Valparaiso and they are the type of place that would try to charge a dead person of a crime they committed if they could. If that doesn't explain the level of ridiculousness around here, I don't know what does.

Valparaiso isn’t that bad, I was there for a big portion of my life. It’s not bad!
