We’ve just arrived in Denmark 🇩🇰, it’s a tad chilly , but some great cities and scenery ❤️🎄 safe travels for 10 days time ! Where are you off to ? 🙂

Leaving home up north on 1st Dec. Travelling via Wiltshire to visit family the le shuttle on 4th. We’re off to Bruges first, then Nijmegen, The Hague/Delft, and then onto Valkenburg for a CAMC Organised set of coach visits to Koln, Aachen and the caves at Valkenburg. Going on the organised trip as it saves me having to buy winter tyres for Germany which are compulsory. Back to UK on 16th. How long are you in Denmark for?

I went to Copenhagen in ‘76. Loved the Tivoli gardens although not sure of the mermaid. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and probably the best lager in the world. 😂

Hi and thanks for commenting, yes luckily we found a cable at a huge diy store , I bet you can’t wait to start your adventures ! .. the front seat covers were from online, if you look up trucker seat covers, or seat covers integral seatbelt they should come up, can’t find the link sorry , the rear covers are shein covers, hope that helps, thanks for the lovely comments, hope you keep enjoying 🎄❤️

Good morning Stuart ! Thanks for the question, ok, we tend to drive no more than 3 hours a day , up to about 180 to 240 miles when needed , but we like to plod , get to destination and relax, so far this journey we have covered 900 miles in 6 days , including the run from home to Dover, once we get to final destination this will drop to a few miles and we just sit back and enjoy, ( currently in Denmark 🇩🇰 ) , we have 2 solar panels , 2 agm batteries and a power bank, the leisure batteries charge really well when we drive , the solar limited in the winter, but does catch some , if we don’t drive, we would likely need a hook up, we have not long left a stellplatz ( free aire ) in Germany with free electric hook up, some places have bollards where you pay as you go, so it’s a lot cheaper than the uk , there’s plenty of places to service the van ( water / waste ) all free, or a couple of euros.. running the heating / lights takes a bit of energy , the summer is easier to harness energy , so it’s a little bit more in the winter, but not too much if you find the right sites ! Hope that helps a little in planning 🎄🎄❤️ Corrin and Paul x

Hi and Thankyou for your comments ! The heating system seems to be very economic, blown air via the alde heater, we don’t have it on all the time, the van is winterised , so fortunately very well insulated, we’ve never had a warning of low voltage, and turn the hot water on in the morning instead of leaving it on overnight, we upped the leisure batteries to 2 agm batteries and they are 110 amps each, the draw is not a huge amount at all , sorry for not being too specific, but it doesn’t really take much used economically ❤️❤️🎄

@@redsgotravels that’s great information, yes I saw the battery upgrade you did along with the solar. At the moment we have a standard setup AGM starter battery with a 80amp/h lead acid leisure battery. I’m going to fit a shunt to measure our consumption before I make any major modifications. Currently we also have a 100w solar panel. As yet we’ve not tried off grid. We hope to visit some Britstops pubs depending on our consumption.

@micksparrow8214 that’s a good idea , I think if you have room, you could add a second solar panel, it’s quite easy to do and not very expensive, but certainly research is key to work out what you need, if we can help, as ever please feel free to ask ! Thanks for your support ❤️🎄

Thanks so much Paul. We have got a polar screen, we had it made while we waited at their Telford branch. They are brilliant, the prices are great and we wouldn’t be without ours, keeping us cosy in freezing Scandinavia right now 👍

@@redsgotravels I do and they're all going in a little book I'm writing for my family. It was something my dad often considered and now I really wish he had for he too had a fascinating story for his 84yrs. He ended up as an RSM no less! Gone but will never be forgotten. All I can say is, if you remember Windsor Davies in 'it ain't half hot mum'...thats my dad to an absolute T..including looks!!

Wow, sounds like you had a fantastic trip , I bet the scenery was amazing ❤️ we travelled with P and O , the dogs are very well catered for, all they ask of you is to ensure the dogs are on a lead , we let ours roam as it was only us in there ! No muzzles, cages or any other requirement, there is an exercise area for dogs ( not that big, but something) , I don’t think other ferry operators offer this , that’s why we stuck with P and O 🙂 hope that helps ❤️🎄
