The Bible didn't say a husband should treat his wife like a slave. He is to be in submissive to Christ and imitate him. Remember when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples? Perhaps she should use that scripture and tell him to bend down and wash her feet. I don't go to church because of their bias ways and other reasons. At any rate, they both are to respect each other and not treat each other like servants.

In partial defense to the author, if husbands love their wives, work hard, due the dirty work, whether it be the blue collar job,fixing clogged drains or leaky roofs, managing finances appropriately,running errands, and working long shifts, I fail to see how additional respect isn't warranted and going the extra mile, there's nothing wrong with a wife spoiling her husband a bit. Sure some men are mentally unstable, have anger issues, and control, but men don't often get the respect, how many women are doing the dirty jobs in proportion, working on construction,oil rights,etc, some perhaps.
If women make breakfast, lunch, dinner, clean the sick, clean the house, vacuum the rugs, dust the furniture, do the dishes, run errands, take care of children. I think that would be the quickest way to get to divorce court. Holding the wife hostage to the scriptures. That is so one sided. The bible not only says wives love your own husbands as to the Lord. It also says for husbands to loves your wives as to the Lord. He's commanding her to love him, but he will not love her. He just wants a servant. She does not love him. Scripture does not command a wife to love her husband, it commands her to obey him in all things as she would the lord. Go read it because you obviously have not. It commands the husband to love his wife with supplying here with food, shelter and conjugal rights. This shows that the man was doing his part according to scriptures, but the woman was complaining and hating the fact that she was being made to do her part. I would have thrown her out of my house. Scripture tells you that if a wife does not go the way you would have her go, to hand her a bill of divorce and send her on her way. To be fair, (And the video is not just.) The idea of submit is to yeild or relent. To whichever leadership she hold herself, good or bad. She is to treat her husband as said leader. This doesn't justify bad leaders. It does however, demand obedience as a core aspect of a married woman's walk with Christ.
I am an American who married a foreign woman and whenever I am done working she has a healthy meal for me and an excellent cook. I don't have to even ask her. I make a lot of money with my work, very well off financially, and needed a good helper because I am very busy on the job. God provided a good helper because I was praying for one. I love my wife. I remember in the dating world I measured a good helper as does she make my life easier or harder, and she made it easier. I am blessed to have a good helper and thankful everyday.

That verse doesn't mean to be slaves to thy husbands. It means that they have to submit to their husbands * as to the lord* . They should love them and support them. In Christianity we are children of God and God is our father not master. So we should treat our husbands like how we treat our fathers. With respect and love. Also, the Bible says that men should love their wife unconditionally and respect them.

Context is a very important and good thing. You just quoted things and labelled the Bible without full understanding of what these verses actually say. Firstly let's start with submission. In any and every relationship you have I can guarantee you either submit to another or they submit to you... You submit to your parents if they are around or perhaps your guardians. In your friendship group there is always someone more dominant than another or the others. Their words carry more weight and more often than not they have the largest influence on the group. This is just how we work as society and not even by trying but because that's how we are wired. Its not inherently a bad thing. The problem comes when you force people to do it which I do not condone. I believe everything should be done out of love. Also the Bible says husbands should love their wives just like Jesus loved the church. Unto death. Everything they do should be in the best interest s of their wives. Now with the slavery accusation. Again context is important and understanding. The word used for slaves at times is meant to be actually mean or translate to what we call servants. Eg maidservant, civil servants etc etc. The slavery you're talking about is actually condemned by the Bible and has the most severe punishment. It says, "if any man steal another man from their country and makes them his slave let him be put to death." The slave you've confused for are to do with people who couldn't afford to look after themselves so they went to richer people to sell their services as a servant for housing, food and money. They would agree on a period of service and after God commanded that the rich person paid the servant in gold and gave them even more money than needed.

The woman is to submit to the man as the man submits to Christ who submits to our Lord. 1 Corinthians is a good example why we should not have female bishops. The idea is man has been given authority over woman as a punishment in the fall of Adam and Eve and it is on this model why it says it is a shame. My wife and I have a day for both of us each month just for fun. On the 7th of each month she is to be all dolled up and submit to my every whim and if she does not she gets spanked. This seems like it was intentionally made to poke a little fun at the concept of the man being the King of the house, and just demanding things from his wife, and in that joking context I suppose it could be funny. But in all seriousness, if a wife isn't working, and the husband is the sole bread winner, doesn't the equal partnership demand equal work from here around the house? Why should she slouch on the couch in her pajamas while her husband has to dress respectably and go do a hard days work? Shouldn't she work to keep the house in order, and feed him, and clean his clothes so that he CAN go out and make the money? I don't agree though that when he comes home he is done working while she has to continue working long into the evening. That is where the equal partnership comes in. He should helping to clean up the kitchen, and doing whatever else needs to be done before the end of the day. I feel like the title of the video is misleading. This isn't about submission, it is about teamwork. Let me clarify..I do not advocate for men to sit around while their wives fetch their slippers and beer. Oh my goodness people are loosing themselves in the comment section over this video. I’m taking it in such a different light. I’m happily married, and my husband is the head of the house. We both work, and I fetch his slippers. Not everyday but when I see he needs them. And he doesn’t order me too, he never “orders” me to do anything. If he needs something he nicely asks, as I do the same to him. But getting his slippers is such a small gesture and it’s just showing I’d do anything for him, as he’d do for me.
