Pumpkin: im a pumpkin that stomps people. Ghost: im a stock image of a ghost that spooks people for entertainment.

Dev 1: Hey, you know what would be a fun game for kids? One where you play as a silly wizard! Dev 2: Yeah, and you use magic to rip monsters' eyes out! Dev 1: I don't think- Dev 2: This is happening.

Call it lazy but i personally find it kinda fascinating how they managed to make every boss's one attack actually somewhat tricky to dodge and keep the player on their toes!

I'm more creeped out by the moon grinning in the background lol

The dragon thing was the most normal boss in this game.

When you step on a spider and it returns as a ghost.

That moon is terrifying and should've been a boss.

I've never heard about this game ... But I liked a lot of the soundtrack . And even for the Genesis, the graphics and animations looked so good !!! A thanks for Mr Pelo, who bring me here

This game had amazing concept designs and even more amazing music. It is a shame that boss animation was lazy.

Scary game by the fact that the bosses keep looking at you...And you destroy them and they become ways evil than what it looked before...

The Gate Keeper is pure nightmare fuel. and the rest are pretty creepy as well.

That gatekeeper is so Lovecraftian... Pure nightmare fuel and i can't get enought of it!!!

Huh. That clock uses the slightly rare "IIII" numeral notation instead of IV... and then goes and uses IV in the VI spot.

I know I've already commented, but I keep coming back to this. This game has some seriously satisfying visuals and music.

This would give a 5 year old boy nightmares for a week. (Edit: Holy shit why is this comment I wrote when I was like 10 so freakin' popular, y'all gotta stop this)

A lot of games from then had psychedelic boss fights sometimes but this game was a trip altogether

I have to be honest, the scariest one to me is still the flower. I don't know if I'll ever get over the shock of seeing that first design. Then again, this is my first time ever even hearing about this game, so....

Honestly, I think the creepiest smile belongs to that clock. He's all like 'IMA COMIN FO DA BOOTY'.

i'm so glad i was too dumb as a kid to get to the bosses in this game, i'd be traumatized for life. also i can't believe how good this game is and the complexity of the mechanics... as a game developer, i can't believe those guys did such a complex game with complex collision detection, decentralized axis rotation, sync with a lot of parts moving at the same time along with such a beautiful art style for such an old and limited console. 10/10 game developers these days got everything to the point that almost no code is needed and still games like cyberpunk exists...

The title screen looks so exciting. "Yay. Wiz 'n' Liz I guess. Whoo. :/" The game itself reminds me of Addams Family and the bosses are certainly creative. It feels pretty creepy and... what the hell is up with that moon!? Freaking menacing!

These bosses are creepier than most horror games

Dude, this reminds me of a brick breaker game I played as a kid, it had bosses too and they were kinda similar in design. I'm gonna have to play this with my sister some day. Also, the songs ARE AMAZING!! I can imagine some kid sitting in a dark living room with their face mere inches away from the screen, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, palms sweaty (mom's sphaPeggy) and waking up everyone in the house when they shout in excitement when they beat the boss!

The scariest ones, IMO, are that giant clock thing and that FREAKING SEVERED HEAD.

The Gate Keeper is obviously the most horrifying boss of them all. Like, a giant flying head with no lower jaw that uses retractable teeth to attack you? No thanks.
