It's been confirmed from a KI Dev that the Dragoon Gear can ONLY be crafted and will not be a drop from the new bosses. Makes it a bit harder to craft all of it this time around since getting the new gear will require more grinding. Let me know what you guys think of this change and thanks for watching!
Gear is 100% bad, loved the worlds after darkmoor loved the spells, gear always been bad. Some say the boots is good the ring is good. The ring has stats that are horrid. Robe has no damage, hat is almost good but no resist, athame sadly is outclassed by the actual darkmoor athame. You can make a case for amulet IF your going full tank and I could keep going like boots has no pierce no block and the amount of grind you'll need to do to craft is sad. The gear doesnt have that good of a look would need hella stitching. We need a darkmoor upgrade otherwise they just gonna make the worlds coming even stronger and harder to deal with because less balanced stats less survivability less utility for increased damage so itll be like your lucky if you get first dont get hit with super spells and dont get critted on.
Hmm I hope they fix some of those stats & make all the gear pieces worthwhile. I’m okay with the gear being only craftable as long as the prerequisite vanguard piece doesn’t have a drop rate of 0.00000001% & only drops from the last boss not even the mobs.
@nathan e I dont want just 100 power pip chance, I want that, heavy resist, heavy damage, 100 accuracy, decent shadow pip chance, high pierce, high health, decent block, low critical and pip conversion. Survivability > Glass cannon. Pve > pvp =no pvp >pve = no if it ain't pvp and pve powered gear it ain't worth wearing tho I suppose you could make the case for one school and one school only storm. So I use alpha omega ring
e mallistaire the undying still better, everything else is just health crit and damage increase and weak to everything else, glass cannon, this paradox like gear I would take everywhere but high worlds so I'm not using health and then a super hit to kill all while possibly getting crit on non stop to death. Need darkmoor upgrade not paradox upgrade, if I'm an ice or a fire or a death I want damage sure I want reliable survival not just health increase, if your a storm ok maybe I can get behind this but still no pierce and jewel slots are lacking. The only thing I can get behind is a jade with a ward pet using the amulet situationally
I don't know about that. We might very well need this gear before the new world comes out. Like based on the resistance and health, I'm thinking the new bosses are going to do a lot of damage and pierce and we'll die a lot without it. Like even up to empyrea part 2, I could solo my death in the mob fights and some bosses. But like, I couldn't solo anything in the underground dungeon. Not even the mobs.
@@Bdots44 If you're on a team, and you had a storm, the storm would be HITTING not HEALING. Literally any other class would be a better healer than storm.
@@mcballe To be fair, it's all the same with new content; nothing but improving yourself somehow and someway. There's nothing impressive I can see happening as far as that goes, but I could be proven wrong and some other massive update turns that around.
Hopefully they require a little less of the new reagents for the gear because that’s insane.. imagine getting the hat, boots, and ring on all of your max characters... wow.
When he said people always wanna see fire 🔥 I felt that and wen he compared them to our old gear so I wouldn’t have to... u sir deserve a medal 💯💯👌🏾 great work
Yet us Myth wizards over here have it really darn rough. We may be third best hitters but we don’t even manage to get a stat comparison from Blaze himself. :(
I think that only being able to craft it is a negative thing. The reagents you need are a lot, and since there are no drops from the bosses of the good gear, I think it’ll be more difficult to craft it. You’ll be farming more of it just to get the reagents, and you’re going to have to do that for each item you want to craft. With Darkmoor, once you got the gear, that was it. You were finished. This adds another step, and if it’s like Empyrea’s Secret Tunnel, where you could obtain other school’s gear, it’s going to be a much more rigorous process. And if you receive all of the gear you need in order to craft it, you’re still stuck with having to get all of the reagents, and if the majority of the reagents are only from farming the dungeon, you’re looking at more time spent on crafting the set. 🤷♀️
I'm only gonna say this once, there is NO SUCH THING as maxing out gear. Remember 10 years ago when we said that there is no way gear is going to be better than lvl 50 Dragonspyre? And look what celestial brought us...waterworks gear, much more powerful with the addition of crit and block. Also remember that time when we said resist isnt gonna get better than commander PvP gear (55 resist w/defy, proof, and heartsteel)? Well look what jade brought us, where ppl can jade over 80+ universally. As you can see, there's no reason why we have to stop improving gear. We'll create a fine line between lvl 129 and 130, just like we separate lvl 20-49, 50-99, and now 100-129. This way, damage and other stats can reach new limits. As long as every school is at an equal level, increasing stats is definitely feasible.
@@AntonConstanti it can be if KI can just do their calculations correctly lol. I'm a fire wizard and I still can't believe they'd give us more damage than storm when we already exceed them in other stats.
seems like a bit of an excuse for the vets to come back and keep busy. I always get hype for new gear but at the end of the day. Content > Stat Grinding
I think this is why they need a stat system. It doesn’t even have to be complicated like world of Warcraft it can be fairly simple. Whenever MMORPG’s get to a max where damage, health, etc. gets out of control we see a stat “squish” it would work exactly the same way Crit works currently. Where the higher the level the more rating you need. Then you might never need a squish. Just more and more of a “rating” to be more percent damage. Also, side note, I think there should be a cap on damage and resistance. I think it would not only balance pvp but also pve. Any thoughts?
looking forward to attempting to craft the boots! I like how it gives us something to do. I also like how they are trying to balance out the stats between the hitting schools, that way storm is not way too op that the others cannot compete
I think the hat, boots, and ring are ok to get made, BUT the drop rate on the vanguard gear is horrible. I'm not one to keep on farming, and the darkmoor gear was easy to get most of the time, plus the chest chance helped if you had crowns. I'm not really liking the whole change of Wizard 101. This also includes the new beastmoon hunt. With being a member now for 11 years straight on three different accounts in my family, I don't know how long I'll stay.
At this point, the only thing worth crafting is the boots. They need to make it an upgrade from the darkmoor. Obviously, power creep has become a problem in this game, so I think either they should tune bosses with that in mind, or they should maybe do a level squish. But at this point the way they are trying to stop the power creep is not working, it's leaving people with an unsatisfied feeling because doing dungeons like these just for a boot upgrade isn't really good, where the majority of the gear isn't even better than previous gear, For some schools, the gear from 30 levels ago is still the best and that's a problem. I feel like maybe they should do a stat squish or something to counter the power creep because at this point people are only gonna go for the boots then stop, it is more beneficial for kingsisle to have all the gear be an upgrade because then people play for longer. Obviously what I said might not be the best solution but I feel like they need a better way to deal with the power creep happening.
Upgrading from Darkmoor is unrealistic and overkill. There's no need for a new set every 10 levels. Darkmoor was great cause it was the first time in 40 levels we got new updated gear. You have the option to keep what you have so in that instance it's good the new gear doesn't make Darkmoor obsolete. The new gear provides different options and that's ideal. To have a set for resist a set for damage a set for critical and so on
David's here go compare to darkmoor and see which one was better. Robe gives no damage no critical no nothing. Hat gives no resist. Only boots are good cuz of health
Update on the gear situation in the month of February 2020. It is PAINFUL farming for the vanguard gear in of itself and farming reagents is equivalent to watching grass grow. The Bosses are INSANELY difficult and you stand a super low chance of getting anything valuable to drop. I’m very disappointed with my past 6 hours of grinding at this game and it’s unenjoyable.
Just a side note though. You don’t have to get your own school’s gear drop to craft the Dragoon recipes. For example you can use the fire vanguard boots to craft the balance dragoon boots.
Hey blaze big fan, quick question, what is the name of ur storm robe that u r using? not the Malistaire's Cloak of Flux but the name before the stitch?
People say it's really bad gear because they expected way too much out of Darkmoor's Legacy. Imo, this dungeon is a better version of Paradox Hat and Boots as well as an additional 5% pierce which is so useful cause shields come up so often. The new wand is good for players that don't wanna spend more crowns but we all know sinbad is better. That athame is REALLY BAD, no power pip chance and triangle slot. The block is something to consider only if the other pieces of gear have it. Amulet isn't worth getting. Ring is better than Mimic ring in damage and health so it would be worth getting. This dungeon basically discourages Paradox gear farming because why farm that when you could do this at a way earlier level and not need to complete Husk? Just a few tough bosses to fight is all and everytime you farm, you won't feel like you wasted any runs. Honestly though, I did expect a lot more. It's good to see that they are getting better with these things in farming but like ... robe still sucks and the resist will never balance out from lv 100 gear (Darkmoor, Rattles, Tennysin). The game isn't very balanced either. I think I like this set because I don't have to change much of my gear to get closer to max critical since my character is damage based. Those people who aimed for critical pets will find out how much time they wasted since these pieces of gear give a good amount of it.
To maintain 100% critical after this gear is released on live, a storm still is going to need at least 2 crit talents on a pet. Dragoon hat 176 Mali robe 115 Dragoon boots 147 Sinbad wand 115 Yevgeny/aphrodite/morganthe athame (2 +18 storm crit jewels) Shane amulet or morganthe 35/30 Dragoon ring 118 Paradox deck 50 Pet with crit striker and assailant (max stats): 63
@@POGOPPLAYER Yap, still a few lines, so those people who got critical based pets with 3+ lines will realize they will need to redo their pet. That's a lot of lines.
Fire has almost always had more damage % versus storm. Usually storm has more critical and slightly less health. Whereas fire has more damage, less critical and more health. No big surprise there. Thanks for showing all of the gear, though!
from what i've watched of your videos, i personally love what this update is introducing: cool new crafted gear, 2 new sun spells, the ability to upgrade your spells, and lore ...but sadly my highest level character is level 72 in zafaria at the moment...
i would continue if i had more crowns to buy more areas "why crowns and not membership?" you may ask, well, because buying areas with crowns gives you access to those areas permanently
They made cabalist gear craftable and droppable, they did the same with paradox. Yet they make this one craft only? Sorry but i find that ridiculous. I have 4 maxed wizards and having to grind for 300 alchemical extract on each one PLUS the piece you need for the recipe (which i heard the drop rate is low) you’d need to have a lot of time on your hands for something that tedious.
Naenae Baebae I understand your point, but to be fair, this system actually works out better in my opinion. Think about how Darkmoor was running it’s loot system. Back when Darkmoor gear was the best in the game, people struggled to find teams in order to do the dungeon because of how hard it was to complete. It was preferred that certain schools formed a team that would ensure a successful run, which meant some wizards from other schools (probably Myth, Death, or Balance) couldn’t find a team of people that would be willing to run dungeons with them. I myself experienced that first hand with my Balance a couple years back. As a result, I never ended up getting all the best gear and eventually moved on to other characters. Let’s also consider the fact that the bosses that would drop the good pieces of gear like Yevgeny for the athame or Malistaire for the actual gear, there would be people who would just get unlucky streaks and run the dungeon 20 or 30 times and never get anything they needed. Meanwhile, other players would get what they wanted early due to just being lucky. On top of that, teams would be full of players who had pieces of the Malistaire gear already mixed in with players who are just starting to farm which would mean the players with Malistaire’s gear most likely won’t run the full dungeon and opt to leave the team. The way Darkmoor was set to be, players would argue with each other, report each other, broke up teams, and couldn’t complete fights to obtain gear since the only way to go through a successful run was to have wizards who’s school worked out better for the dungeon. As the game progresses and our characters get stronger, Darkmoor has become easier to farm and players can get max level wizards helping them out for some smooth runs. The way the Catacombs is set up is completely different. With many different dungeons, where each dungeon drops a different piece of the Vanguard gear, while also always dropping reagents every run, you are guaranteed to find wizards who are farming exactly for what you’re farming for when teaming up at the sigils. This solves one of the major problems Darkmoor had. Where as in people would only team up for the first boss that dropped the athame while the rest of team wanted to go to Malistaire. Another good thing about the way the Catacombs runs is that the gear is craftable. All you have to do is gather the reagents to craft the gear and as you’re farming that, you’re also farming for the Vanguard gear at the same time. Essentially, this means that every run done successfully, will ensure that you will obtain something useful and worthwhile. You either get the reagents or you get the hat or boots you’ve been wanting. I understand the grind for reagents is unbearable, but it’s a much more preferred method compared to how toxic and unforgiving Darkmoor was for level 100 wizards who were mostly rocking with Waterworks gear.
For those who complain about the game pretty much everyday update for once they make GEAR grindier to get which is what MMO’s are suppose to be about. On the other hand, the increase is up to you whether you think is worth your time to farm for.
not that i know of. the build i have runs 169 with 845 crit. im not using shane amulet, but even if i switch to that instead of morganthe, that's not enough to change anything. if you figure that out though, if it's true, by all means let me know. always up to being proven wrong that there's not a better build.
Dragoon hat/boots/ring. Tenni robe. Morganthe athame. technically with the highest stats for the crit jewels and the crit on the pet, you could probably use Morganthe amulet instead of shane, since it brings you down to 837. triple damage double crit with thinkin cap for the pet. fire ghulture mount. Sinbad wand.
Judging by the rewards given per quest for this quest line, I'd say no. Not until they release a new world, which we dont know when that'll be (probably next year)
wiz allways done a good job on gear AAAAAK SORRY FOR BEING WRONG IV BEEN PLAYING FOR 8 YEARS BUT FORGET EVERY THING EVERY TIME I COME BACK FROM A LONG BREAK
Yall are tripping if u think the boots are bad, and as a hitting school, the hat and ring is good but very minuscule upgrade compared to paradox. Those boots are insane though
Ya just like all dungeons. Or u can buy with crowns If you do trivia daily for 2.5 months you'll have 8000 crowns to buy the member elixir from crownshop
@@meetra5073 It is way better, but how much weirdly depends on the time. The "advanced companions" update completely overhauled P101 combat and made it considerably more punishing.
