Thank you all for watching GOAT SZN over the past couple years. This is the final episode I’ll be posting. I think we’ve all proved as a community that this show has an audience, and the concept works. That’s why I’ve pitched this show (now twice) to my contacts at the NBA with the ask that they help me produce it. Use their high quality and rare footage to highlight players that need a spotlight shined on them. Im tired of using low quality VHS rips and bootlegs. The ball is in their court now. I’m fighting to make this show become a reality with their help. If you want, you can KINDLY tweet at the NBA saying “please produce more episodes of #GOATSZN with @maxamillion711” or something to that effect. So that’s where we’re at. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Let’s hope the NBA makes this a real show 🙏🙏🙏

He was getting better during the 01-02 as the season went on...if you look at the stats the month before his knee injury, he was averaging numbers better than his 97-98 season...even if you include all the games before in the season: 25.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks on 42% shooting was still good. And the wizards were in the hunt for a playoff spot...after his knee injury they lost 9 out of their next 10 and MJ was never the same after that.

@TrippyMoak
@TrippyMoak 2 года назад
I hate this narrative pushed by the media and fans...MJ literally said he needed the break to free his mind meaning he wouldn't have the mental fortitude to push it 8 years in a row/ speculating the bulls would beat the rockets or any of those Knicks teams that previously pushed them to 7 with no Horace grant or Rodman is dumb...odds are he wouldn't have won

@@TrippyMoak but none of those teams ever beat Jordan doing the 90s only Shaq's Magic did and we saw what happened to them the very next year broom 🧹 . My point is you thinking that he probably wouldn't have won against those Rockets if he wouldn't have retired is still something that didn't happen so you're only speculating. Nobody ever took a ring from Jordan in the Finals but Hakeem Olajuwon's Rockets lost to Bird's Celtics in 86. My point is I'ma go with a guy who never lost when he knew all he had to get was four more wins I don't care about what the Knicks could have done and what the rockets could have done with no Dennis Rodman on the Bulls because some would say the Bulls got cheated in 94 against the Knicks.

for the people that still think that MJ couldn't play in this era, it's pretty easy to show. Think about it like this. Go watch any of the MJ goat son videos from the 90s. You will realize that he was so dominate in an era not just with tougher defense, but if you watch closely, you'll realize that the paint was always clogged due to the lack of shooters at the time and he was still able to produce some of the best numbers at the time. Now put MJ in a situation like today where everyone else can shoot. You can't hand check him and you can't play zone cause there will be shooters all around him. by the facts alone, it's obvious that MJ could not just hold his own, but would actually do even better do to his speed athleticism and defense. The disrespect needs to stop, not just for him, but for all the great players at the time.

01-02 Jordan was very different from 02-03. He took some time to get back into game shape, but once he did he wasn't that far from the player he was in 98. I think at one point he was averaging around 25/5/5. Then he suffered a knee injury and shut down for the rest of the season and was definitely a diminished player in 02-03, although he remarkably played all 82 that final year.

I've always hated people who are younger than me or that weren't even born yet at that time talk about his Wizard years like he was absolute trash. Yes, the team was poorly constructed so he barely had any help, but him individually was still prime time! He had the best fundamentals in the game still, used more screens to get open, had the most pure mid-range J we've ever seen, was still getting crazy finishes, the most lethal pump fake game and some hops left to get a few dunks here and there.
