Thank you sooo much. I watched your video and saved me a whole lot of money. Successfully changed my own battery. I feel so empowered considering Im a woman who is averse to doing things like this for fear of blowing up the energiser. Much appreciated
Hi Dean. I have a Wizord 2i at a clients house with a simple return system. Could you advise me on how to wire the Wizord 2i so that the fence alarm can trigger an alarm on the alarm panel (for armed response). Many Thanks for the great videos!
Hi Tommy. As mentioned many times in previous comments, I am not an installer or retailer of these products. This video was purely to help those in need of changing a battery. I would highly suggest you contact an authorised installer for more info regarding your question. Sorry for not being able to help further. LOL! Personally, I wouldn't even know what a Wizord 2i even looks like....
I recently had a Merlin 4 electric fence installed. I am however looking for a way to schedule automate the activation and deactivation of the fence. Sort of set time to activate and deactivate. Any help
Hi! That is a great value mine. But what does the manufacture recommends in terms of the battery life cycle? Why not to replace it periodically to prevent having a dead battery? By the way, how long does a battery last when full loaded (6 or 12 hours only?). Also, how long should we use the same battery (6 or 12 months only?). Thanks
+Lyronel Cafala Thanks for the nice feedback. I am no expert, but I do test the battery every month by unplugging the unit from the main and letting it run down completely. I never time it as I do this in the morning and plug it back in in the evening. I have had it still running on battery in the evening with a nice new fresh battery. Regular maintenance is always the best. If you find that the unit runs for 30 minutes or even an hour then switches off or if it it ticking very slowly, then it is time for a new battery. Every battery is different and they can last for a few months or even a few years! Best to test it this way every month. Hope it helps.
No idea. As far as I know they don't have a remote, just a small round magnet key thing that is used to turn it on and off. If it's that you are talking about, then just get a new one and it will work. If it's an actual remote, then you will need to get your security people who installed it to come and sort it out.
Hi. thanks for the video. please can you advise. My wizord 4 energizer was replaced a while ago and it seems the remote receiver was not reconnected correctly as it no longer works. Could you advise on where receiver should be connected. currently when I push remote button to activate/deactivate fence then the Gate light flashes but no fence activation. appreciate your time.
Hi there. It would be difficult for me to properly explain as it involves some wiring to be done inside the unit. I would highly suggest you contact your local installer to come and assist you as the remote receiver could also be faulty. There might also be some programming on the unit to reactivate the remote side. I am assuming the magnet key still works fine which should get you by until your installer takes a look.
Good day. I have the Wizord 2 and would like to connect a siren to the energizer. At the moment the box itself has a soft alarm but this isn't loud enough. Is it a simple task to connect a siren to the energizer?
Muller De Wet There is an available connector inside the unit for a siren. If you know what you doing, then you can easily connect it as I have done in this video. But please make sure you disconnect all power to the unit including the battery before attempting anything inside. You will need to take a look at all available connectors inside and find the one labeled siren. 2 wires and you done.
Hello, I can explain how I connect the wizord 4 team to the electric fence, I have 4 lines of fence and a buried copper Lance, yet is how to connect the system. Gracias, Cristian.
+Cristian Figueroa Astorga Hi Christian. I would highly suggest that you rather get hold of your local dealers for that. It will be easier for them to come take a look ta your setup and advise you accordingly. Sorry.
Hi Adrian. As far as I am aware, the alarm only triggers on a dead short, but I might be mistaken. You could test the siren but connecting it directly to a 12V battery and seeing if it shouts.... If not, there's your problem. If it does work, then it could be a fault on the actual unit. Best to call in your security to check the unit if that is the case. Hope it helps. Cheers.
A wizard 4 I installed 2yrs ago, just recently I have changed 2 batteries within the space of 2weeks, pls what could be the problem. Each time I change the battery it works for some few days and it dies
No idea. I'm not and installer. Best to ask your security company or the people that installed it. But maybe check that the plug is turned on. Sounds like it's not getting power... Just a thought.
Hi Deanos, My Wizord 4 with newly replaced battery shows 'service' warning light. The manual has only one answer "Take it to your service centre." Their recommended techie advises "I have to come to take it down and send for testing, probably at least R2000. Better buy a new one for R3000 with guarantees." I'm quite competent to do basic tests with some guidance. Can you please suggest a wise way forward. Kindness from Milnerton.
Hi there. As I am not an installer of these, I actually have no clue. Many things can go wrong with them, so I would highly suggest you either get your installer to check it out or take it to them for testing.
Hi Stefan. Assuming you are referring to the tick-tick-tick noise, then unfortunately it can't be disabled at all. That noise is the huge capacitors inside the back of the unit charging up and releasing the energy to the fence. Each "tick" is a pulse of electricity around the fence. I think it is great to have it ticking away because if you don't hear it.... Then there is a problem and/or your fence is off. Hope this helps.
Hi Fiona. This video was done many years back. The shop I was referring to then is no longer there. I would suggest getting in touch with your local security shop for further advice.
Thank you. What specification battery can be used? The original is a 7.5Ah, but the only ones I can find are 7Ah? Secondly, my fence is doing a funny thing. The battery/service light isn't on, but it isn't making the "normal" sound as it energises. It makes a funny zinging, and if I unplug the mains the whole thing loses power. Can I assume it's still the battery? Also, the alarm light keeps flashing, and it emits a double beep every few seconds (but nothing is shorting the fence itself). Thanks again
+Yahya Atiya Hi Yahya. I am no expert, but by the sound of it, your battery might be totally dead. If it were me, I would take that battery out and test the voltage on it, or have it tested. If it is bad, then get a new one. As for the aH (Amp/Hour) ratings, anything between 7.0 and 7.5 will do. obviously the higher the number the better, but the standard is a 7.2aH. Hope this helps.
What you could do is connected a bigger 12V battery, maybe 30aH or higher so it will run the fence longer. But you will need to then extend the battery wires and put it outside the energiser somewhere... That will work. But remember, the higher the AH rating, the longer it will need to charge...
Can't really remember, but they do last a year or 2 assuming the power doesn't go out for too long. I have since replaced it with a Lithium battery which seams to be running a lot better than the others.
@@marufajimati No idea. I don't have that unit anymore. Sorry. Maybe try calling your security company or the people who install or sell the units. They could maybe help you better.
Mateo Beukes Hi Mateo. If I'm not mistaken, Gemini gate motors use 24V. I am not 100% sure, but you would need to check. If there is enough space, you can use 2 x 12V batteries. I have done this with my garage motor and have had no problems. Further more, I would suggest calling your local security company to come take a look and advise you further.
