I love your bootcamp videos! They give me (a 7 month ebay reseller) inspiration. Listing is hard but little by little, I am getting better & faster. I tried to do a bootcamp of listing 5 a day, then 3 a day, then none a day. Back at listing 5 a day for past few days. Not easy but when I do accomplish the 5 a day, I get excited. Thank you for your videos, so detail and such great information.
Hi guys, Been listing 5 or more each day this past week and sales are picking up, WooHoo! Because of you and your videos, I have been pushing myself more to list and results are showing up for all my efforts. Yes, I too, had a slow July as I know that was the same for many sellers who have been selling for many years. Glad you stood your ground with that email telling you to take down your listing. How strange and not sure how I would have responded, so I am so glad you shared all this with your viewers. Thanks for all you do and know it is truly appreciated!
I was on vacation last week. I did sneak in a few garage sales. And found a 16 inch Viking Swung Vase for 2 dollars so I was thrilled. Back to boot camp today. But instead of listing I went through lots of totes some things had become unlisted so now have more to list.I made a donation box as I went. I have been selling more now that I have been doing boot camp with you. Thanks so much.
Wow! I bet that will be as fun to pack as the TALL 14.5 in high Empoli dish I just packed yesterday! I too have some items that became "unlisted." Thank you!
Thanks for the bloopers at the end. Great video, I'm going to have to look for more crafting items. We don't try to get to many sales, so if I have one every day or so I feel blessed. Have a good one!
Hi Vickie & Mark!! I enjoyed the video and the bloopers at the end are fun!! After listing very little this summer, I was able to get 28 new listings in my store this week. It was nice to work again!! I have made so few sales the last few weeks that I am wondering if this is all worth it. I’ll keep chugging along though!! 4th quarter is just around the corner!! Have a wonderful weekend!! ~Tammy
Good for you, Tammy getting 28 listings in one week! As to few sales, you are not alone. Unless you are already a big seller with daily sales, many of us have fallen through the Ebay cracks. At least for the last 4 to 6 weeks. Mark and I have also said recently that we wonder if all the work is worth it. Fourth-quarter will tell us the true story. The sad thing is that between the economy and Ebay’s push for promoted listings to be seen, we have some challenges ahead. Let’s hope for the best and just keep on listing. If we hadn’t been listing, Mark and I would’ve told ourselves that it’s slow because we hadn’t been listening. Lol. I think we all know there’s so much more going on right now and spending money on Ebay is not on most peoples list of important places to spend money right now. We don’t sell necessities. We sell “wants.”
Sales have been ok. Not fabulous but not bad either. Appreciate you sharing the story on the email you received. It goes in my memory bank. Listings daily over the last 6 days and photos ready for more listings.
I think your first instinct on the quilt kits is correct. I’d probably leave it that way for a while. I would also have only run them on sale for no more than 20%. I usually run sales at 10-15% and have offers on.
I don’t have offers on for most items and have found that 30-35% off helps bring watchers. Then, I send a little more off in an offer. It’s an experiment that I’ve been doing. Thank you, Terrie!
Well, now I'm dying to know what kind of stamps. I assume the scrapbooking kind but maybe not. I think you had some office ones that did pretty well once. Love the bloopers! I'm glad I'm not the only one who talks to myself. ☺️
Hi Vickie, what kind of store do you have on eBay? How much do you pay in monthly insertion fees? I don't know if you would like to make a video where you explain this question a little more to beginners. Thanks. Angie
We have a "Premium" ebay store that comes with 10,000 listings (no insertion fee). And, we can end/sell similar pretty much whenever we want because we only have 2,800+ listings. Look at how many listings you have. Look at how much you pay for your current "store" or current monthly fees. How many listings do you want to maintain? Remember, when they rollover each month, that uses up one of your listings. So as you add more listings, you can easily be charged extra listing fees as a result. My best advice is to NOT let a monthly store fee "hold you back from listing more items." If you have the items to list and the desire to do so, consider a year commitment (lower monthly average store cost). The store fees are really so nominal when you thing about it. We owned two brick and mortar stores that cost us "thousands" of dollars a month to maintain. $59.99 for an ebay store for us (yes, plus FVF etc) is nothing compared to a "real store." It's all about what your goals are. Again, don't let a monthly store fee (annual commitment) hold you back from growing your store. If nothing else, it will probably motivate you to list more items and that's a good thing. Hope that helps for now and thank you!
Good for you, Beverly! I love that you find your items around the house and list them! I'd like to say I'm better but the new "script" has me miserable today. Oh well....thanks for asking!
@@AvanteAvenue I have to say, people use the make an offer a lot more than i expected. I am trying to find a particular size and color planter and i have been getting offers all day from items I looked at even if i have not watched them.
I actually think that zero watchers is so fake. I’m not even bothering to send offers anymore because I believe they are other resellers doing research. Why do I think this? Because Ebay sent me a reminder of my own listing that I had looked at. It was on sale and ending soon. Way to go, Ebay.
I think the people saying they are Asmodee are probably another seller who is selling the same products for more and don't like the competition 😅. Well done Vickie for not allowing yourself to be bullied into removing your listing.
Perhaps but the information on the email looked legit. I didn’t put it in the video but I did research the company and I actually found that the only games they have, that are prohibited on Ebay, are their games with dice. Not sure why, but that’s what I found. Thank you!
@@AvanteAvenue EBay is not easy. RU-vid is not easy. However, you continue to work at both daily, constantly trying to improve the process for all of us. It is obvious that you want us all to succeed.
Amazing find of the quilt of the week kits. You are lucky you found the whole lot. Usually a quilter does the first kit and puts it aside and starts another project.
Yes, and I updated the listing today to one. So true....I think most of us can say that we have "half started....or is that half finished projects?" Thanks, Maggie!
Another awesome video Vickie! 👍 I didn't know the needlepoint & quilt patterns 🪡were such good sellers. Are they long tail? Because of your videos I have been picking up items I wouldn't have considered before. Thanks Much!
Looking forward to the house tour! I had my best week since starting this in April…woohoo! One of them was an oil painting sold Thursday that I had listed Tuesday…I paid $3 for it at a thrift store about 1 1/2 hours from me…accepted best offer of $44…boy, is it a challenge to pack! From now on all larger art pieces will be going on FBMP local only! Live and learn, it’s a beautiful painting, though, and I am happy to make someone else happy with it.
Thanks for the great video. I needed the tutorial on ending and selling similar with bulk price change. You make it seem so easy ♥️ Congratulations on your WooHoo sales! Loved the bloopers at the end and music accompanying them. I appreciate all your hard work putting together the videos. Can’t wait til the next installment 😍
It was nice to have an "easy" week of Boot Camp. Even though I spent most of my time working on videos, I still managed to list more "quantity" this week than any week so far. Thanks for joining me, commenting and such, Vickie & Mark ~ Avante Avenue
I’m glad that you didn’t let that “company” sway you. I had someone recently contact me that the item I had listed was not what I thought it was though many have been listed and sold with the same description. I was nice in my response and explained that I was not an expert (they probably weren’t either) and that I’m listing just as others’s have before me. Then promptly blocked her. Do you think she took the time to contact everyone else who had the same item as I did?🤔😂
I spent from July 3-8th in the hospital - they tell me I had a small stroke. I'm 76 yo and had to go off my blood thinner the end of May because I had covid-19 - therefore it caused the stroke. I'm trying to get back to normal but I get tired early. Frustrating. I'm suppose to start Christmas listing this month.
So sorry to hear that, Rosemary. You've sure had a battle with your health. I know you're frustrated but there's nothing more important than taking care of yourself vs. taking care of ebay. Get well soon!
Was just wondering, I’m trying to decided which store that I would like to get. From a fellow Volunteer in the great state of Tennessee. Thank You love your channel!!
Hi Vickie and Mark! Bootcamp has been great! Listing an average of 7-8 per day, other than sourcing days which lately are my Saturday and Sunday estate sales, etc. God bless, enjoyed this series immediately! PS: How would you list a bunch of embroidery floss? Thinking by "color" and then variations.....
So funny you should ask about listing embroidery floss! I keep passing by the "tote of floss" that I bought at a Church rummage sale and keep telling myself..."I've got to get that listed." Like you, I'm thinking about listing in lots of "color, shades of the same color." But, I haven't research it yet to know for sure. Maybe (maybe) I'll tackle it next week. Thanks for joining us with Boot Camp!
@@AvanteAvenue I ran out of baggies, and had to buy 100 more for the individual colors. I have sorted thru purples and oranges... Hope to list them this week, and move on to the next color/s! Be well!
