This band was formed just after I joined the Army. A credit to my hometown. A very good childhood friend of mine was Bobby Stott. RIP. Him and his brother Harry were close neighbours of me and my brother Graham. Good memories, growing up together.

The best band of its style in our wee country!! Shame there isn't more bands of its type around any more. A great documentary too which portrays what being in a band really means, it's an extension of your blood relatives.... keep doing what you're doing and there's no reason why you can't see out another 40 plus years!!!

Loved this documentary. You are the "Pride of Londonderry" I grew up in Londonderry and left in 1975. I have followed your band over the years and I know how hard you worked to have such a high standard. I was in two bands in Canada. We were not close to your level much as I loved my bands. One of my friends was in your band in the early years Desi McCallion. On one of my trips back home I heard of the death of one of my class mates from Faughan Valley High School David Walker was also in your band. I tried to contact the family to give my condolences without success. If you have any contact with the family please send them my best wishes and thoughts. I know David had a sister named Florence and the family lived in Strathfoyle in the seventies. Your band is a credit to the Fountain Londonderry and Northern Ireland. Everyone of you deserve so much respect! Thank you!

Fab band no doubt. Went to London with 100 of our own boys in 1985 and watched and listened these guys. We had the Blue Star band then.

Superlative stuff WKMFB - a brilliant band and a brilliant documentary. On my regular visits across for the August celebrations, I have enjoyed watching the band on parade, and have also attended a couple of your concerts in Memorial Hall, and your musical reportoire and prowess are outstanding. You are the jewel in Londonderry's crown - keep up the good work, you are not just a band but a great Institution!

It'd be great if some more bands could make documentarys of there history to this quality of production. This recording of such a standard I'm sure it could be sold worldwide to TV channels. Well done to the band.

Really enjoyed this. Well done. Hopefully the next time you get to London you will be allowed into the pubs and not have to spend your time walking around soho.

A very sound documentation. (Pity I have to listen so hard because of their accent...) We only get to see them out in the open, on parade - but so much practising is involved.
