Every single one of the characters in this show are so beloved by me but most especially Les. He is so childlike and sweet. The man who played him absolutely brought him to life. Just love this show so much.
@@GrowSomeLabia I believe it. Anyone of us who has worked in radio has worked with one version or other of any one of these characters. I miss those days.
And so many of the characters ARE based on real people the creator had previously worked with at an Atlanta radio station. - Herb was one of them. Grinning ear to ear after reading these comments - HOW COULD THESE PERSONALITIES BE COMMON AT FOR A RADIO STATION? How crazy that is!
@@lynntolleson6688 Oh, yes. The characters are very real, regardless of the job title they hold. One of my old coworkers in radio was a spitting image of Herb, minus the plaid suits. 😂
@@ZetaReticuli_ Now that I think about it, I worked with a Momma Carlson too...except he was a man. But he made everyone insane. He made understand what "Battered Wife Syndrome" must be like...because we all walked on eggshells around him and wondered when he was gonna blow.
Me too. Watching this show is like coming home again. To a place where all my loved ones are still alive and I had many people who loved me. It brings immense comfort.
Too bad Les lived in a time when newsmen were almost legendary. Nowadays he could make it easy: all he has to do is report on Trump and COVID-19. After that constant barrage, I think a hog report would be refreshing
Like billions of other red blooded males in our galaxy, I was a Bailey fan. Having not paid much attention to Jennifer, I never noticed until recently how her hair looks like a helmet. But, I care not, for Bailey's hair reminds me of so many of the country girls I grew up with over 50 years ago.
People ask me why I’ve never been married. It’s because I couldn’t find a woman like Bailey and the ones I did find were already married. I’m not marrying a bishy, entitled, bossy feminist who will make my life miserable.
Maybe the reason Les wanted to move to NYC was so he could live an openly gay life? When it seemed like that was not going to work, he came out as much as he could imagine doing in Cincinnati?
