All y’all in the comments talking about the aggressive placement of the cans don’t understand that these guys are on a route that means this isn’t the only house they are picking up trash at some the most I’ve seen a route cover was 1200 houses 🏡 try doing that for 8-10 hours straight no breaks
Takes just as much effort to set them down as it does to throw them lol.... My Brother does this same exact thing, and his Dept gets ripped for throwing cans.
@JoeBollins21 They are not gonna know about the can placement cause they never done It, Towards the end of my Driver Helper days I was doing 3900 stops routes, and having yard waste in a can!!! That was a treat, Yes give these guys a hand, damn smooth workers/team and they only had to pick up 6 cubic yards If they were pressed for time, They took that all. Heck If that was me I still got my shirts, I would have thrown one on and went out there and started slinging cans!!
This would be "illegal" in Germany. It would be required that the truck has hydraulics to load the cans to protect the workers backs. They are working really hard but this will result in a short work lifespan. As it is hard to fire workers in Germany due to health issues companies and labor security are working together to reduce the workload and heavy lifing as much as possible.
Big shot out to the WM crews around the world. My neighbor works for them and is actually the driver of the year. I love how the company acknowledges their workers. These men and woman really have a hard job to accomplish when you think about it. Wish I could figure out something more to do for them one day besides an Ice chest full of goodies and cold drinks.
he doesnt have to do it eveyday so to go all out 2/3 times a week isnt that bad...did it for three years nobody can run like that for 50-60 hours a week nobody
I dumped our WM service as did most of my neighbors. Drivers forgot to pick up and drove by looking at their phones. It only took a small breeze and the trucks wouldn’t show up.
In my city you are only allowed one garbage can full. They would leave the rest. You would have to dispose and pay for landfill fees for the remaining.
I did this for 3 summers while in collage. yard waste day was brutal and the cans with the attached lids were awful. No one should buy them, think of the guy who has to dump them. There would be so much yard waste that the truck would fill and the compactor would ring the juice out of the grass. When you dumped, it was a solid monster grass cube the shape of the truck.
On the one hand you could say they rushed through it, three cans, spilled some material, but on the other you could say it was really nice of them to take it all
Alternative title, what the garbage men have to deal with after a youtuber does one of those free lawn care videos and takes all the debris with them when they leave.
Good job good team work just hard working men buy them a ice tea or something they deserve alot of credit your service is deeply appreciated thanks don't work to hard appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock it's a tough job you do it well thanks way to go ! Joe
Been doing yard waste for Groot/ Waste connections since march and I like it! It’s a rewarding career. Just have to remember that they’re just leaves lol but yea leaf season is a beast! Crazy how before I thought garbage collection was such an easy job. Some days are but during leaf season you really get humbled quick! Salute to all the hard working men and women that. Keep the country running!
My Name is Shaun Alvarado from San Antonio Texas. Worked for Waste Management for 10+ years in the Residential Department. This Team needs a lot of Coaching. Helper is jumping off the Truck while the Truck is still moving which is very dangerous by him slipping and causing major damage or Fatality. That's going to catch up to him with his knees and Back. Their Can Placement is Horrible and unprofessional. Just throwing cans back very aggressively. They are leaving Trash on the ground after dumping the cans. They are not lifting the cans properly. Fix all the above and then we can really say they are killing the Route and they deserve a Raise.
This homeowner should be ashamed of their self by putting all this out at one time. These to guy are tough and never complained. You guys need a pay raise!!!!!!!!! Excellent to outstanding job.😇😇😇😇😇
In the UK your allowance is a maximum of two 240l wheel bins and if the guys are having a bad day, and the top is ajar, they can refuse to empty it, also if its too heavy they can refuse to empty it, and emptying the bins is by pushing bins to back of truck and hydraulics lifts bins!
This was likely a special pickup date and not a normal one. They have days where you are allowed to leave your Christmas trees out and someone picks them up. They do this because often you cannot burn your yard waste.
I am 100% certain that first guy already has back trouble. He'll eventually be disabled with surgeries for herniated discs in his back, if he keeps that up.
what I don't understand is why everything counts as garbage. imagine if it was sorted before. such as garden waste and food goes to compost. can be sold after a few years as fine topsoil or at discounts. furniture etc. can be recycled. furniture etc. can be reused. but everything might go to the heating plant or electricity. but of course it is free energy that you sell back.
Having spent a little time on the back of a packers, my opinion of the people doing it everyday has soared, a hard and and necessary job that few people appreciate.
Would never fly where we live. Green, blue and black bins, and two of three get picked up once per week (green every week, others alternate). They check each bin from time to time, and warn you if the wrong items are found in a bin (blue = recycling, green = biodegradable and black = reg garbage). No items are accepted that don't fit in the bins. Bins are not allowed to have their tops open, or even partly open. Truck picks them up, operator never even gets out. Large items are your responsibility, you have to either take them to the transfer station, or they will pick up (by appointment) six times per year. This amount of yard waste would never be accepted, would be just left there, and might even get you a fine. Crazy.
Nice work. We have garbage yards in Czech republic, if you have a large amount of garbage, you can take there for free. Simultaneously the garbage yard is a recyclation point - one pile for organic, another for plastic, glass, paper, metal..
I seen guys get fired for worst and they also got some of the worst work report on file. Had a few try to sue our company for false report, didn't go well for two of them because the judge was on their route and seen how they worked.
Dude on the back needs an attitude adjustment. I realize it’s a crappy job, but the way he just throws the cans when empty is ridiculous. Take some pride in your work dude, which you obviously don’t!
