As a former Lincoln Square resident I know that block very well. Also goes to show you how political coalitions have changed. While Reagan was campaigning in Chicago Jimmy Carter was making campaign stops in towns like Tuscumbia, Alabama. A schedule that’s unthinkable today.

24:16-- A little CBS Kuralt action going on on one of the weather maps, as the Sunday Morning label on that map is in the same font as was used for most of the Charles Kuralt years of Sunday Morning.

I've never heard of the NewsCenter5 branding on WMAQ. Tough to compete on Friday nights with THE Ten O'Clock News on WBBM.

And, up to the prior year up to this point, "Eyewitness News" on WLS.

The animation for the Chicago Tribune Dragon Slayer TV commercial is done by Richard Williams, he was famous for creating the rare animated film "The Thief and the Cobbler" and later worked on the 1988 animated/live action movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".

Not certain, but the animation in the Trib ad looks a lot like the work of Ovation Films. Was there a mixup on Carson's monologue curtain, or were they just trying something different? That's the curtain they'd usually use for standup comedy guests.
@wmbrown6
@wmbrown6 Месяц назад
I heard it was the latter, but it just didn't work out for his monologues and they went back to the old.

I'm surprised that they discuss the dangers of shooting the film, but never mention that a performer died during the production in a botched stunt.
