WMATA Metrorail 1973-1976 Rohr 1000 Series Railcar  

I'm gonna miss the 1000 series railcars. It's just something about them that makes them so likeable to me.

These trains where the best so many memories lol

Out of all of the MetroRail cars of Rohrs, Breda Rehabs, Original Bredas, CAFs, Alstoms, and Kawasakis, what was your favorite? Mine were the Original Bredas.

It's sad to see these go. I remember riding a couple of those like 1061, 1196, and I think the other one was 1181 to be honest. I mostly rode a couple of rohr's, some CAF's, and a few breda's.

Gonna missed the carpet. I know all the other ones have it but that first time seeing it was cool AF

Going to miss them. Rode them in my two recent trip to DC.

I hope any of these 1000 series cars are in a museum now

Seeing this in 2022. They miss each other terribly.

These cars get so much hate, but I actually prefer them over the newer cars- the newer cars have a sterile interior. This is more pleasing to the eyes.

the 4k cars are being retired as of now actually !

And is this the train that the Kawassaki 7,000 series trains are replacing? They look older than the others, however, this looks newer than the older NYC Subway cars

Looks similar to the BART cars. Both made by Rohr.

there's like only 36 cars (18 married pairs) remaining as of now.

Are the automated announcements original? Probably not right?

I heard they plan to keep 100-1001 and 4000-4001 as historic cars.
