Hmmm well it depends on driving style, preference, skill and experience. Like my car of choice for nearly everything is the AE86 but I have accepted it has some big weaknesses. Its ok though, I had fun :)
wow after 7 years playing wmmt i didnt know the throttle pedal can control the turbo boost . i dont usually use the brakes but i came cross this video n this might help a lot. thanks mate
Same as the other guy, I only found out that WMMT has this mechanic after watching your video. Tried getting used to it for like 2-3 times going to the arcade (I usually go once in 2 weeks at most), after getting used to it it finally helped me win back Osaka/Hanshin ring road crown in my venue against a RX8 (my favorite course after it was released the first time in the game; after several bad attempts and hitting traffic getting out of the U corner on the right we all see at the starting line) :) successfully pulled ahead at the narrow U turn on the left of the starting line and maintained a good ~40m advantage of the course, very useful tips! I feel like the best advantage is throttle control helps maintain speed better than simple 0/1 throttling? I do feel like with it I finally started to feel like my car (FD3S) flows better & faster in and out of corners like I see you and SOARS do. Also this especially feels very good to me since I only started getting back into the game a year ago after being a complete noob the last time I played it like 8 years ago. Onfe again, thanks!
Holy shit only after like 6 fucking years of playing then did I learn that controlling the pedal at half boost makes the car turn better than fully releasing the pedal then pump back the power. Holy crap...
Causally played this game during MT2 and MT3. The scene here died due to our local arcade stopped at MT3DX+ or something like that along with everyone basically getting older. About half a year ago I came to find out our local Arcade got MT5. The scene here is only a shell of what it used to be, but its still fun. I always wondered how everyone got so good with their TA lines. You earned a new subscriber, hopefully I'll put these skills to use.
Thanks very much. Im envious because UK doesn't have WMT community and I would have loved to be able to play it growing up. There are periods where games/arcades quiet down because there isn't many people playing or everyone is busy, it happens with all popular games. I hope the video helped and if you are able to put it to use then you can transfer the skills onto other driving games :). Thank you for the sub!
Same here dude. It was my biggest weakness and I hated it, but then slowly I got into it and now I love it as a big strength. Fight it dude, and you will be laughing on each corner 😄
Dang so cool! Wanted to learn about this since a guy that talked to me earlier said my driving style is very rough. Subbed and eager to watch some more of this!
definatly hard to master, specifically when you havnt had any one to teach you tricks for your whole time playing. I learnt about throttle control when I visited the Philippines last year its like learning the game again. thank you for the video it sheds some extra light on throttle useage.
If you practice that into your driving style, you will not only do it without thinking but you will know how much throttle to put down or lift off with your chosen vehicle. The US cars, European cars, R34, Evo, R35, Silvia and various others rely on this method a lot more. I'm happy this video has helped a little more. Keep practising and you will beast it :D
Been playing for about a couple months or so now, but couldn't get my head around how alot of people could nail their corners better than me and the friends I play with.. I'll try this out next time I play, thanks!! Hope you make more vids :)
I dont know much about these arcade games but holy shit I wouldn't even THINK about challenging you in this! I know its arcade, not sim etc, but those drifts, perfect zero counter exits just inches (if even that) from the guardrail. You truly are god foot!
This really helps me on beating other players on hakone area, I usually always come last in hakone area. I tried this out and it works perfectly! Thank you for the help and tips!
I remember maxing out my car in 3dx+ and never doing this. I never wouldve thought that letting go of the gas for that quick second and turning would make that much of a difference. Thanks for the video.
Scapeside A great battle machine. It slides a bit than the RX8, RX7 and AE86. It's more for blocking than Time Attack and it's tall profile can make doing Time Attack on Hakone a little tricky but it's one of the most used cars for defending and pushing other cars out.
I finished BASIC tuning just a few weeks ago... i cant believe i Made it through without drifting... Super helpfull vid Happy i didnt play before watching this
Thanks dude! I've been using the technique for quite sometime now and I think I got good at it. And also, because of this I was able to beat the Fukuoka King
This is a good video in general. Came for the gas pedal lesson, learned more about how chaotic my driving really is. My turns are not smooth at all like yours, which only means I have a lot to learn.
Thanks man. The throttle control can be transferable and applied to a lot of other car driving games as well. It takes a bit of practice but give it a go with the car you’re most comfortable with and have a try. Let me know if you need help 👍
Hi there. When it comes to drifting around corners, should I turn 1st to get my car on a certain angle before throttle controlling? For tighter corners like Red ones, I seem to brake too much before throttle and turning. Got any tips for engaging those tight corners like the ones in C1 Area, Sub-center(Ikebukuro) Area, Yaesu Area, Osaka Area etc. After I exit any turn, I just can't seem to keep the momentum going like those Super Hard players do. Any helpful advice on exiting? Thank you for the video =)
DanteDevilDan thanks a lot for the helpful video ive been playing fr two years now and just kept the pedal max most of the time, thanks for clearing our knowledge. P.S I use the evo10 how good of a car is it and how does it compare to other cars. thanks brother.
amazing drive bro..using left foot for braking and keep right foot for maintain accelerator..not many players cant do that including me..anyway thanks for the tips how to drive at hakone road.. :)
To many players, this course is a nightmare. But once you go through the hardships learning it, it becomes the map that will play into your hand or in competitve, gives you a fair chance against opponents with different playstyles.
I hated Hakone but while dressing up cars I found a much slower car can still beat fully tuned cars and you got huge rewards for doing so. It later good training to learn the track and not make mistakes
Hello Dante, its been a while since I battled you last time lol...I have a problem with my (CYFUI) Starion especially in corners...some corners I can perform well than other time attacks cars...but there's a problem...I realized that my car tends to lose too much speed on corners...I mean WAY more than R34...I'm a bit concern on the throttle control tho...does throttle control maintain a car's pace for better time attack or slower...all I know in my logic is less throttle causes less speed and therefore slower time attack...Can you sort it out for me please? Thanks...
I barely play the arcade game but yesterday I got the chance to play it & I used your tips. It really helped me 👌😀. The only problem is my leg were shaking as hell 😂😂. I don't know why but I was nervous
Hahaha, don't worry you're not the only one. It maybe because your muscles aren't yet used to that kind of movement and your brain might be doing some guess-work ontop of that. It certainly takes practice. I started with letting go off the throttle, then I began to blend it with careful movement. If you keep going at it then you will instinctively know how much power to let go and put down :). Let me know how you get on dude :D
Woww ... This Very Helpful... Please Master.... I'm a amateur in WMMT 6 .... Can you update more video each tracks with Steering.... Transmission....and Pedal Video.... Joined in one video like this ... I think that's will be helping me and the others Amateur please 😅🙏
I learned when I fought the other person in arcade... that sports cars in the game has low handling but great speed while My personal fav car is Ae86 has low hp but high handling.... It depends on the user how he or she want it to be the style of driving... offensive or defensive
I just started out playing this game and played with my actual driving exp. I picked 964 Porsche and simply applied what I knew of the car real life physic and it's a handful to control, yea (the widowmaker)... Throttle control actually works in this game... Someone actually lent me their GTR32 that one was much more stable to control and plenty of boost 👌 cool video BTW. Like 👍.
Yashihavocs Nuclear That's good to hear dude. Overtime you will instinctively know how much power to put down for all tracks. The best thing about this is that the skill is transferable to all driving games depending on game mechanics. Keep it up
Awesome guide, by any chance will you do a tutorial on Manual control? I'm not very experienced with Gear Changing Manual and how/when to do it correctly.
Andrew Tam I was the same when I started. If you have unlocked one of the special meters (yellow, red, blue or carbon) then that would help when to change. Another is to use your ears. Listen to your car's rev and glimpse at the RPM. More often than not, you can use the sound to determine when to shift.
Hey just discovered this channel rly late but rly loves it! However, can u do a gear hints n tips cus my frens told me during turns I hv to lower my gear to one gear lower
Ernest Chen Haha welcome dude! It depends on the corner and the course. You wouldn’t want to lower a gear for every single corner otherwise you’d lose a lot of overall speed. Depends on how confident you are in running and also listen to your engine’s rpm. After some practice, you will instinctively know what gear you should be from sound alone. Try cornering as fast as you can without changing afterwards, if you feel that your speed is good then remember that turn for next time. ☺️
Yo Dante..thanks for showing us this video you've made..i hope this will enhance my skills to another level..but ive seen some wannabe players pin throttle in tight corners and causing them to hit walls and lose speed drastically.
You're welcome :), I hope this helped a little. Anyone with mouth can say trash to others, but actions of driving fast through practice will speak louder than any words. True when first playing we all floor it in the hopes we come out ok, then we learn how to take corners, then progressively get closer and closer to the apexes. Biggest tip I could give of this is...'listen to your car'. May sound straight but upon hearing your car you will hear upon turning when your car is losing more speed than it should, most obvious sign is tyres screeching.
The reason i play the throttle in time attack is to reduce the car's speed a little bit so after exiting the corner the car won't lose more speed. I've recorded a gameplay and it does improve the car's speed at the end of the corner. But most of the corners usually can be passed with full throtle
Priambudi Bagaskara Yes true. However with Time Attack, your goal while running is to avoid (or at least minimise) screeching your tyres. You also have to bare in mind how much contact your tyres have on the road for bumps and hills. While it is true you can floor it round most corners, for Time Attack it requires a lot more precision.
Usually clear the turn then change gear. Hakone surprisingly requires not alot of gear changes throughout, usually on the red corners and some sharp yellow turns.
5 years of playing wmmt (since 7, im 12 now) And I NEVER knew about this thing, I usually go 0 then just brake in some sharp yellow turns and especially redturns when playing hakone. This will help me win and get free games everytime :D
Neil Jonathan Cayetano Glad this helped out. Its hard to catagorise when to brake and when to let go off the gas and gently accelerate. Study the corners, try going round with a steady throttle and then let muscle memory take over 💪
