No it will not matter. Typically the hole are upper and the slots are lower.

You can use the four holes to mount to your display that are located at the center of the adapter plate which are 100x100mm. Also if using those 4 holes you can remove the two horizontal rails which are attached by two philips head screws. Be sure and save all left over parts for future TV that may require full adapter plate. Thanks, Jerry

@@wallmountworld Thanks. The reason I was asking is: I bought the100x100 mounting matching set to attach to my rv outdoor on the camper and the other matching plate to the tv. But now I'm wanting to go with a bigger screen tv and was wanting to attach the 100x100 plate for the back of the TV to the vesa mount so it will still match up with the other matching plate that's mounted to camper. The set I have just slides in to each other for easy removal. I know I will have to go with lighter weight tv.

Yes using a spacer is perfectly ok to do. Jerry

Yes perfectly fine to use the spacers. That is common practice for some TVs. Thanks, Jerry
