That O Canada film at 3:03 is much older than 1988. I've seen a variant of it and the "With Glowing Hearts" anthem film both films are based off of. All were released around the same time, approximately 1979 or a tad after. And I wasn't around at all during this time period, for the record.
Why wouldn't it be? Back in those days, most TV stations didn't run 24 hours a day like they do now. I grew up in the 90s & I would stay up & sometimes watch this on non school nights. I don't know why I did it, but I did. But yeah, it usually meant I should probably go to bed.
