WoF 2/16/09: Michelle Lowenstein Reappears...Staff Death 

So sad to lose someone dear to you! You can hear it in Pat's voice he is holding back the tears! :(

RIP Alan Mills. He's also been with 'Jeopardy!' since 1984.

Pat choked up... to choke up like that, it means that guy was a very close friend.

Rest in Peace, Alan.

don't forget that Alan took care of Alex's wardrobe on Jeopardy!

Wow, that guy must have really meant something to Pat. He didn’t even react like that when Charlie passed away.

It may have been because Pat and Alan saw each other every time they worked on Wheel and Merv may not have been in the studio as frequently. Because of this, Pat was probably a closer friend to Alan than Merv.

I'm also going to dedicate my appearance on Wheel of Fortune to Alan Mills.

I totally missed that part last night about Alan passing away. R.I.P.

If memory serves, Merv passed during the off-season...but that still doesn't explain why they didn't do it at the beginning of the season...

Shows how close Pat and Vanna are with the staff at WOF. I wonder if other hosts would have done this? I know Drew Carrey would, but when these two cry when they have to announce staff deaths…shows they care.
