I want to thank you for this- because- I spent my summers and some adult years in Texas. I can speak with a Texas accent if I want to....that rarely happens. I was talking to some people and bidding them good bye, and I said, the Illinois; "You Guys." Then I thought - "oh geeze" (in the Minnesota dilect) What if I misgendered them with the "you guys." what if they are offended because I've used the casual Illinois "you guys" without even considering what or if they identify as a gender ? Then, I thought about this sketch. And, realised that the Texas, "Ya'all" is both gender neutral & singlur and pural. Ya'all can refer to a male, a female, an individaul and a group of people. Wow. My grandmother who was a scarborough was woke as can be ! I have gone back to referring to everyone as, 'Ya'all' as to not make any mistakes with she/he/they ? When asked for the she/he/they ....I supply the word, "ya'all" Does your she/he/they line contain....the word, 'c' ?

John Oliver that man with an uncanny resemblance to a young Larry McMcCurty, a man with a body genetically designed by the ministry of silly walks, a man who's show is long running joke on the Monty Pyton song: "Oh sod it, I didn't wanna do this, I don't wanna be a weather forecaster I don't wanna rabbit on all day about sunny periods" because, no one knows more about c- then the Oliver family. I'm so in love with this guy - not on a yukky I'd like to steal him from his wife level...noooo. I'm mid-50s with a beautiful sub-10yo son....living a ghastly life in many ways. (I don't have custody...the system IS rigged ;-) ) But on an appreciation level for his intelligence, humanity, compassion/kindness, and fucking comedic genius. Kev I An gets it!! But the thing I really wanted to comment on, is that sort of tenor-guttural giggle he has. It's just heaven. So authentic. Preserving engangered and almost extinct languages through your stand up. Whereas, John Oliver hasn't done a stand-up gig in decades. Just sits behind a desk and reads a script to a camera. Afterward, he goes to coffee with the decendants of the Astors, the Rockerfellers and the Jenny Jerome. Earlier this year many of the top New York comedians where doing stand up at a club in New York. It was totally naked stand-up comedy. John Oliver could have taken a cab and shown us some of his bits. But, alas, he's to good to do stand-up in New York, these days. Hasn't been on a proper stage in years....decades....really...decades. But, as I'm striving to learn cockney, and preserve the cockney language; can you tell me this ? If John Oliver did excuse himself from coffee with the Astors, Rockerfellers, Vanderbilts, Duponts, Rockefellers, Astors, Goulds, Morgans, and Roosevelts; to do stand-up again ......but -totally nude- which is the current trend in New York comedy curcuit.
