I will say this: HL (on launch) was a buggy mess. Although it has fixed/patched those bugs, I suspect that had 'something' to do with the game awards. In terms of gameplay, yah, it was fine - yet it was a very predictable game and clearly was made for people who had never played an ARPG before...unlike people reviewing games for game awards. I think it was formulaic, simply speaking and not even a brilliant example of the formula to which I would attach it. 7/10 game, with a 7.5/10 after the bugs were fixed. But, this is not the thing I wanted to point your critical eyes towards, it is the 'I got swatted' video and event/occurrence involving another RU-vidr you know: Mr Luke Stephens. Not necessarily. There are tons of movies which flopped but later became cult classics. I'm certainly not saying that about The Marvels, but I'll always love Army of Darkness, Dark City, The Big Lebowski, The Frighteners, and a host of other flicks which had theatrical runs ranging from "Meh" to "Oh god, oh god, we've lost our shirts!"

I wouldn't really call it a war. We have the power of the purse and everyone needs to know that. A company trying to shame or insult you for calling their product crap just proves it is indeed....crap. They may think their movie is the greatest thing that saves lives and changes the world or whatever nonsense, and at the end of the day that is our decision whether a movie lives or dies.

RU-vidrs like you, Nerdrotic, and the Critical Drinker currently occupy a valuable space in the Internet/media critic landscape where people who are passionate about quality entertainment media (whether it be games, movies, etc.) can tune in and get a decent understanding of the wider context to why a particular area of modern entertainment is getting worse, and the powers that be who are in part responsible for said decline in quality don't appreciate people who can effectively connect the dots in people's heads. Also it's just cathartic to hear someone say things that you yourself are thinking, especially when you yourself have no real power to express those opinions publicly without risking ostracization.
The funny thing is the majority of people against woke ideology is still a part of the masses. To see beyond the shadows is so much deeper than people know. Our society have fucked up our ideals and beliefs through practical application are nearly 100 years.

I am thankful for your videos, I was tired of the TV stations always talking down to me and telling me I was a horrible person despite the fact they never really know about me as an individual. Since 2014, I have seen stuff that I never wanted to see in my lifetime so I have been aware of this for almost a decade now.
I am an older gamer and can remember when games were considered to be the worst for violence. Someone realized that kids playing games for hours upon hours become a captive audience for the “Message “, just like schools do the same thing just more forcefully in person. We are on the edge of losing an entire generation of productive people which may loose us a country.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s. I do not recognize anything anymore. We are beyond gone. It is over. I know I am no longer the "target audience" but I remember that my childhood entertainment did not make my father puke or recoil in horror ..

I don't think we NEED the drinker. I already started hating new Hollywood movies before finding his content and I've talked to lots of people that are sick of new movies as well but have never even heard of him. He's just telling us why we hate them. I actually much prefer his drinker recommends series more because its so hard to find good shows nowadays.

Corporations keep thinking that the millions of people who comment and mention them are the people that matter, when most of those people have little idea what they're talking about. They only do it because it's convenient. The broadest audience looks at everything in a superficial level. They think only one side of anything is correct. They can't understand that everything in the universe has two sides that must be in intricate balance with each other. I may be a nice guy, but I have a dark side. Everyone does, and everyone needs to accept that we all have an ugly side, but it's necessary as part of life's beauty. But, in the end, I guess these words will simply fade into nothingness, because the higher ups never listen to nobodies like me, even though they listen to nobodies that align with THEIR worldviews. We're heading toward an age where the development of the prefrontal cortex withers and humans are always ready to kill each other, while high technology and the few remaining high IQ people will rule over all of us disposable plebians. (I did not mean for this to be a written art piece, but here we are. Creativity really does sprout from turmoil.)

It's a little disturbing that I don't really hear about this stuff outside of RU-vid. I've always been fairly anti-conspiracy with the theory that it's really difficult to get a large group of people to one, agree on an objective and two, that once enough people are involved, there's going to be people who are going to blow the whistle. That's not to say I've trusted the general media much at all, there's too much money on the line to really trust anything like that, but I'm bugged at how rarely I've heard about how these rich, powerful people are pushing to censor real opinions. There's another issue with false flagging that's not talked enough about: Many people think reporting is part of the discourse. The number of times I have seen people call for mass reporting on tweets etc because the person says something the other person find offensive, without it being illegal to say, is really high. They use it like kids in a school yard: Run to teacher to tell on Tommie who said a bad word. Or, they use it as a "user review" function. Just report it and the product will be taken off the shelf. Until these platforms begin to actually push back against false flagging, nothing will really change. PS: There have been times I have reported things on Twitter too. One was a death threat, another was sexualization of minors. My fear is that actual issues aren't being delt with, because people misuse the report function.

The big thing I want out of my account is people talking about it, what even a small group who are watching me say about my writing style and themes so I can improve my skills for future literature I'll create. I just watched the trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie. ALL of the comments I read were such obvious bots and shills. “Can’t wait to see this in the theater!” “Just bought tickets for my whole family for opening night!” “I’ll be seeing this several times for sure!”
One plus is that those people being so political about awards exclusion of Hogwards legacy, just make it easier to know that things they really front are likely going to be strong into their political leaning or ideology, so makes it all the easier to know which titles to actually avoid when buying game if you keep eye on that I guess.

Then I read in the book, How to Win Friends and Influence People about how Abraham Lincoln nearly got killed in a duel when he tore a fellow up one side and down another in a scathing article he wrote. After that he was very careful about what he said to folk. In fact, he left a trunk chock full of unsent letters. He'd write out his frustration, then debate if it was worth sending. So, in many ways I've censored myself, mostly because, well, I just end up getting leftist trolls attacking me for not drinking the panderverse kool aid or I waste my time crafting a long response on somewhere like here, right now, and it goes nowhere. For awhile I would get into it with these fools, but honestly, I felt it's like sitting in a rocking chair. It'll give you something to do, but it won't get you anywhere. At this point, I have zero faith in anything fascist disney churns out. They've proven they are hell bent on destroying history, perverting the youth, and altogether just producing garbage that only a very small minority of folk that don't work and have nothing else to do but live off their parents and revel in mental health issues will actually watch. If it has DC or Marvel on it, I just won't go. There's no super hero fatigue, there's crap writing, pandering, bullying, talking down to us, and raping IPs I grew up loving.
