Apparently Netflix gave them a 2 million up front to cover production starting costs, but the Cuntess of Winge and The Cuck Prince won't see any more until their show airs. Maybe I'll do a review of it.

Yep. That’s me exactly. I often get only 2 minutes into a series before it becomes unbearably woke, and I’m forced to bale. Nowadays mostly watch old films on Netflix, would dump it entirely but the wife pays for it, so we have it.
For awhile (I do not pay for netflix it's paid for by someone I live with and have a profile for when I use it) I primarily used Netflix for anime but even then that has slowed down, some have their animation teams replaced and netflix uses unskilled animators andthe series decreases in quality and it takes almost half a year for a new season of said show to get put on the platform when it's already out in Japan and other anime apps.
That skit at the end isn’t too far off. A couple weeks ago, I went to Barnes and noble with my friend. We were talking about anime at the counter. One of the cashiers started going on about “Attack on Titan is ImPERiaLisT prOPaGanda” 🙄 I’m like “is it? Or is that just the setting and politics of the world within AoT?” I could tell they were Wokies before they even started talking tbh.

So I'm not the only one who noticed something...odd...about Bridgerton. I'm black, I tuned in and thought, "WTF?!" I wanted an authentic show about 18th or 19th century England and what I saw completely took me out of the time period.

The BBC cast a black actress to Anne Boleyn. Naturally the woke crowd accused people who complained about this as racist. This one is particularly egregious to me because that's an actual person who had portraits painted and her features documented. Plus, she gave birth to Queen Elizabeth I. You know the pale faced, ginger haired monarch who obviously was mixed race. Even the more moderate of the woke crowd didn't like the idea that British imperialism, was all performed in the name of mixed race monarchs.
What sucks is that Netflix removed their rating system to protect garbage (like how Rotten Tomatoes changed their system to protect Captain Marvel and other garbage like it)

For over a decade I helped run a wilderness canoe trip that I wouldn't simply describe as hard, I would call it grueling. We took teenaged boys on a wilderness survival trip most adult men wouldn't choose to do. It was, quite literally, a hazing ritual. At least one kid broke down and cried every time. Whenever I run into any of these kids, now adults, they describe that trip as the greatest month of their lives. Yes, they were hazed. And on the other side if that hazing was manhood. I think the best hazing is one that the hazer doesn't just subject the initiates to, but participates in as well. The hazer isn't just asking, "How much punishment can you take?" but instead, "This is going to be hard. Can you keep up?"

Pushing the politically correct agenda is nothing new. As far back as the 80's, they were very subtly inserting, 'the message', into programming. Except, back then, it was fleeting at best, and done in a very surreptitious way, to the point where you hardly noticed it. As the woke ideology gained a bit more momentum into the 00's, it became less subtle until around the mid 10's when they shamelessly started to push the agenda openly, to the point where anyone who doesn't go along with it is instantly labelled as some form of bigot.

This was a great documentary, when that Cuties movie was made it showed the direction Netflix were going in and I don’t have any sympathy if the company goes under. This was their choice to prioritise all this ideological rhetoric in the shows/movies, rather than entertaining the masses. They blame the audience for problems on certain issues but usually get caught out on their virtue signalling whilst not practicing what they preach, and trying to normalise abnormal behaviour particularly to a young audience.

I still pay for it because my mom uses Netflix a lot (she prefers the more boring, safe trash that is abundant on Netflix) but she lives in the next county over so on the rare occasion Dad and I boot up Netflix we get the Spanish Inquisition first. 🙄

The difference between that and what he is talking about is that these are young men who chose to enter that group knowing that was the initiation. You didn't have any choice but to go into High School. If there is no way to avoid the hazing, it's not hazing, it's just abuse. In most schools it's ultimately voluntary, you just won't be accepted as part of the group if you decline. Which is the point. They want to to suffer the common ordeal. If it wasn't unpleasant it wouldn't be hazing, and if it's too much for you then you would be one of the weak ones it's intended to weed out. Although it should also be proportional to the group you are trying to join. There is no real reason to "weed out the weak" in a High School, so no reason for excessive cruelty. Some embarrassment and discomfort should be the most of it, with an option to not participate if you aren't willing to do that ritual. However kids rarely have any sense of proportion, and are prone to just be cruel given the chance. No one is more cruel than kids can be, and bullies will use it as an excuse to do what they like. Although if it works out, they got the same when they joined, which is fair enough.

One thing that I realized while watching things on Netflix, is that from time to time there is a scene that is more like a woke lecture than something that is relevant to the TV show.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on hazing. It was not uncommon for it to end in injury or death. There are better ways of "men" proving their strength and bonding through overcoming hardships together than some of the horrible things that happen in fraternities. I put men in quotation marks because I'd hardly refer to adolescents entrance in bad behavior when they get their first taste of freedom from their parents as men. Because people are sick of the Culture War and would rather support quality products rather than political crap. I tried to watch a cooking show on there once at my gf's place and they go to portland and spend maybe 5% of the show on food, the rest being lgbt and minorities telling stories about themselves and how oppressed and brave they are. Some asian girl talking about how hard it was growing up because the other kids laughed at the smelly food her mom packed for her and how her food now was a love letter to herself as a child. Not mind you to other little kids but to herself. The ending reminded me what i just heard at Drinker chasers. There was a time when Hollywood was the peak of entertainment, and movies were the best, but. That time has past. We got alternatives. Video games are coming out by the tons, and there are LOT independent content creators on the net. There is competition for entertainment, and if they don't provide, then people have plenty of alternatives to look for.

I know it was an Amazon show and this line is lifted directly from the comic and 90's cartoon, but I think the Tick sums it up pretty well when he says "You're not going crazy, you're going sane in a crazy world!" I can't help but remember it every time I'm faced with media pushing this dogshit in my face. Starting to think it was cancelled because it depicts a strong male lead, because I actually enjoyed the two seasons it did get. It even had compelling female characters like Dot and Miss Lint. Then we got Rings of Power...
I'm going on almost 10 years without Netflix. I saw the writing on the wall way back then and was not surprised when "Dear White People" came out which only affirmed my decision on canceling.
0:53 It takes far too long to find anything good on Netflix because they took away the rating system after Amy Schumer's standup special bombed. The percentage "for you" doesn't tell me if something is going to be quality or not.
I always love the "Justifying yourself in a space" argument because I can tell you most communities are more the welcoming (If your actually interested in the thing the community is and not trying to destroy it with your BS you want to bring in with you)
@@DespotofAntrim Same in the USA. Most commercials over the last two years are this dynamic, black male, white female, and "kids". It's as if white families don't exist. Or black families don't exist. Everything is "mixed" but it's ALWAYS a black male. That and a lot of the commercials are simply BLACK. Everyone in them is black. Nothing wrong with that in theory but you really start to notice it when it's so often and repeated.
