this is how healty nature looks like , bears , wolves, salmon; there is a fresh streaming river, and the plants aside the river even till the streaming edge. and a big deep forest up the hill. wonderful.
Unfortunately things has changed because of progress of mankind: mining and a lot of traffic..... Not to many animals left..... We don't go anymore. British Columbia is selling his beautifullnes
The music that starts from 2:15 is divine and mysterious. Perfect fit for these grand mysterious animal....the wolf! . Do you know the name of this song?
Cool footage of wolves eating salmon, but I didn't see them chase the bear at all, and the comment section is full of wolfaboos who think a lone wolf could kill a bear
wow, im Jealous! you saw the spirit bear and the wolves encountering the bear. was in Hyder 4 days ago and the first thing i saw was a bear crossing the street right at the entrance, thats unforgettable. amazing pictures with the wolves with fish in the mouth!!
I've seen quite a few videos of their interactions. They usually avoid each other, and when one encroaches upon the territory of the other, they are chased away. They don't push their luck. I'm guessing the bear was new to that part and they considered it theirs. So they showed initiative to drive it away, while the bear showed caution, leading to the 'chasing away'. Also, the solitariness of bears, and their lack of dexterity(in comparison to predator felines), makes them vulnerable to pack tactics, so they don't want to push their luck with wolves and get badly injured, even if they can kill a couple of them. And wolves never let them even touch them, one is always leading the enemy on, while others nipple at the tail end it.
rare to even see them, beautiful footage. Hope they don't destroy the rivers up there with mining and deforestation, the gunk ends up in the rivers and impacts the salmon runs. So many animals depend on the food source.
It is already less, W think because of the increasing traffic because of mining and foresting. Every year we go to Canada it is getting less..... shame, beautiful BC. They don't now what they have and what they can loose. Think of the spirit bear, orca's, wolves, grizzly, etc.
this is rare . at least if it was a female grizzly with cubs nearby . wolves almost always shy away and leave the fishing "grounds" when griz are around . their instinct tells them these seemingly slow lumbering bears can in a nanosecond have all their adrenaline pumping and good chance to run you down and kill or maim a wolf . overall though , the wolves are a hell of a lot better fish catchers thant the bears imho
Hi, I am a student of a film and I wanted to ask if I can use this clip in my school video? It is a visual poem based on the "Wilderness" by Carl Sandburg.
