Listening/reading advice is one thing. Putting it into practice is another. Especially with my bad memory. Best way to describe my memory: Picture a bank vault but inside are several filing cabinets. Each can only be opened with a certain 'key'. One of the 5 senses, a word, phrase, image, a feeling, etc. Some are a lot easier to access than others. The further back you go, the harder it is to access the memory until all you see is inky blackness. My oldest memories are purely anecdotal.

I have ADHD, and over the years have had a lot of vitamin deficiencies/weird med reactions that have basically left my brain swiss-cheesed. So I get you. Memory problems are really hard to live with, and they can make even simple tasks hard to accomplish. But there are ways to help: lists, building routines and habits, medications in the case of ADHD, setting reminders on your phone, things like that. Your memory may never be what you think "normal" looks like, but maybe you can find ways to live more easily with what you have to work with.

Script Writer here 🦊 Just want to start off with a thanks for deciding to fill one of my scripts. I always love getting messages saying people are interested and it really makes my day knowing someone enjoys my script(s) enough to fill them! I think you did a great job with the audio. I liked the little bit of storm SFX too help set the tone and mood a bit. I think you also came off very professional sounding, keeping an air of professionalism consistent throughout the entire script. I also loved all of you subtle changes and terminology use to help keep that air of intelligence and medical practice to help make the character more real. Lol I've been to therapy only a handful of times but it felt like I was really in a session with the terminology that was used. I think your additions added to the practicality of the script and helped take it to a new level of RP! Thanks again for taking the time to reach out and fill this script! I hope you had as much fun recording this one as I did pondering smart words for the therapist to use 😜 Stay Foxy 🦊

Vannila Velvet may not be a licensed therapist but she's spittin' facts! Seriously though this is all pretty good advice, and it makes sense it comes from a wolf girl. After all, wolf packs are tight-knit family groups, would make sense they take care of each other's mental health.
@TheFoxlover93
@TheFoxlover93 7 месяцев назад
The reason a wolf girl was chosen was cause they are seen as these "confident" beasts who seem to not need others (or are depicted as such, like "lone wolf"), but the idea of being allowed to be vulnerable and that even someone like a wolf can struggle to keep up appearances! Hello... Thank you so much for the content you make. I have been lurking for some time now, and I have been wishing to share something as I have been listening to your videos. I have suffered from some health problems. Both physical and mental, during my life that limited my mobility in terms of how far i can get around outside of commuting to work, which is thankfully not far. I have only recently been able to begin over-coming these problems with therapy and some medications, but because of this I am 29 yrs and will be 30 in half a years time. I have only had a few relationships and am a virgin still. I am deeply ashamed by this, wishing that I could have been born inside of a different body and be able to do more things. And to be more normal. I'm now making progress but seeing the people around me with healthy lives and getting married and having kids i am beginning to fear it may be too late for me, and my damage is too deep because I missed out. I've been listening to your videos and they are helping me with my self esteem and trying to navigate through this perilous time I am in. Im sorry for making a sad post, but I have not many to tell this to and I feel like this is a safe place to say this. It has been gnawing away at me... I feel very alone with this.
@VanillaVelvetAudio
@VanillaVelvetAudio 7 месяцев назад
There is no time limit on being loved or finding someone to love, I promise. It's really hard to maneuver in a world that isn't well built to accommodate people whose mental or physical health is not the average. (Trust me, I know!) I commend you on your progress! But I want you to know that it's possible to find your person (or people!) even if you never reach what you may think of as "normal." What's normal for a person is what makes them feel the best, and keeps them safest. You don't need to keep pace with anyone else who isn't you because they aren't you. They probably couldn't keep pace with you in all the things you live with! And, while I understand the pressure and feeling left behind, the idea of sex as a rite of passage is frankly a bit messed up. Don't sweat it! It's a physical activity, like any other, we've just attached a lot more social meaning to it than most others. It's an act that involves a level of vulnerability and emotion, but you don't come out the other side of it a fundamentally different person any more than you would stubbing a toe or cutting your finger. Who you are right now is the same person you would be afterwards, just with a new experience under your belt, so don't fret. There is no shame in not having had one of millions of human experiences yet. There would be no shame in never having that experience, in my opinion. You have time to find many loving relationships of all sorts, if that's what you want; and there are so many people out there like you who are looking for people to love. Sex, marriage, kids, those are nice things to have, but they are not the only things to have. Their lack does not define you. If you want them, genuinely want them rather than feeling pressured for not having them, I hope you find them someday! But know that a fantastic, meaningful life is not built by those things alone. Take care, friend. Trouble is not forever. I hope everything burdening you gets easier to bear. 💖
@thevisionary5699
@thevisionary5699 7 месяцев назад
@@VanillaVelvetAudio thank you. I will try to think about it in this way from now on. I do want these things, truly. I just felt that I needed more time to get to that point. But over Thanksgiving my inlaws said something to me "you are a handsome man, why don't you have a girl? You have to hurry or it will be hard to find someone your age" they do know of my problems but they are older and from a different time. If you lost your leg you put on a fake one and got back to work. But I want to solve my problems and truly heal. And I know it needs time to happen. I will not listen to them and try to find someone or something that makes me truly happy. I can't let there expectations choose my path for me.

Really enjoyed this one, but just one little question… why a wolf girl? Not that there was anything wrong with it, however I couldn’t help but feel a little confused by that description. Maybe there was a deliberate meaning for it since it could have been a cat girl, or a lamia, or any other type of girl. Was there a reason or am I just reading too much from a single detail like that?
@TheFoxlover93
@TheFoxlover93 7 месяцев назад
A wolf girl was picked for the script because they are usually depicted as "lone wolf" and confident creatures, since they must be strong and powerful otherwise other pack members will try to step on them, not to mention against other predators The goal was to show that even Wolf girls can have a caring and vulnerable side, but also by using an alpha like creature, the goal is to sort of have a "dominance" in telling you that your thoughts and feelings are valid. If you had a stuttering, more submissive or not as confident house cat try to tell you these things, it doesn't drive the same impact as an "authoritative" figure would. Those are a few reasons...that and I love Wolf girls 😂

This has nothing to do with the video or its quality but just something I want to ask. What is the difference between positive affirmations and lying to yourself? If you don't believe the things you're telling yourself or worse yet if they are objectively wrong it seems no different to self delusion.

If you want to start working out, and you tell yourself "I will be stronger" it's not a lie just because it doesn't happen the moment you say the words. If you go work toward that goal, and you are consistent with that goal, you WILL get stronger. An affirmation is about putting yourself in the right mindset to achieve a goal and help you visualize/work toward that goal. It doesn't have to be a statement that is true, 100% in the moment you say it. Like, by that logic, saying "We're having chicken tonight for dinner" would be self-delusion unless the chicken is already cooked and literally on the table when you say it. It's about intent. "I like myself." "I'm strong." "I have people I love who love me." Do you intend to work toward those goals and achieve them? Then the affirmations are not lies, just truths that are delayed. You intend to reach the point where they not only feel true, but become objectively true. Do you intend to say the words and sit around waiting for those goals to fall out of the sky, never putting any consistent effort into them? Then that's lying to yourself. Nobody EVER reached a goal looking in the mirror saying, "I suck. I can't do [xyz]; I'll never be able to do [xyz]" And that's also not ~objectively~ true. You'll never be able to lift a weight if you never pick one up. That doesn't mean it's inherently impossible to do--but it sure is harder to accomplish when you let the bully inside your own head tell you not to even try.

@@VanillaVelvetAudio fair enough but there is a difference between saying things like "I will get stronger" and things like "I am strong". If I say "I like myself" or "I am content" or my personal pet peeve "I am strong" but I don't believe any of those things that doesn't seem different from lying. if I say "I am a millionaire" and I'm not it doesn't really matter if I intend to be one in the future it's still not true. I understand the premise that you need to believe that you can get better in order to really improve but the way it's gone about most of the time just doesn't sit right with me. BTW I really like your vids.

@@imcvak3461 Just because you may not believe something does not mean it is a lie. It is a percieved trait that is being viewed by others. "I am strong" does not need to be a physical thing; it can be emotional, psychological, maybe "strong willed". Just because you yourself might not believe in what's said, doesn't mean others dont see it.

@@TheFoxlover93 If you state something as fact and don't believe it that is almost the textbook definition of a lie. At the very least it's very similar. Is it truly honest to say things that you are convinced aren't true? That would seem to be at least trying to lie I go back to a similar example to before; if I claim to be a millionaire but I'm not it doesn't matter if other people think I am that doesn't make it true. Besides isn't the point of self confidence and self worth that it isn't dependent on others or their views of you? Why then would you base a "truth" that you don't believe on the perception of others. What if they don't see those attributes? Would it then still be appropriate to accept their perceptions as "truth" if they are negative? Also My comment really shouldn't have been what it turned out to be. I should have just let this go and not started whatever it is I started here.

@@imcvak3461 well there is also the idea that even if you aren't happy, if you force yourself to smile, you will begin to believe you are happy. Is that a lie? Or is it just a restructuring of our overall thoughts? The example of "I am a millionaire" is something that I personally think is a bad example. It's similar to saying "the sky is green". To most people, it probably isn't, and there are things to back it up that it isn't. But if you said that to a color blind person, is it a lie? Or is it just a different perspective? I think the overall intent of why you are saying these things is two fold; if you say to yourself enough times "I am strong". And you mean physically when you aren't, then sure, it could be considered a lie. But then why did you say it like that to begin with? If you say "I am strong" and think about your emotional well being, then you might indeed be strong. The other half of it is that you begin to convince yourself that "yes, you are strong. You are brave" and by mentally projecting these attributes, you might begin to believe you are those and thus, be more of those attributes you describe And it's all good. Everything has been civil and mutually respectful so i think we are good on both sides. I won't gum up the comments too much, but I thought I'd give you those closing thoughts. Hope they help and that you have a great day
