Hi Chad. Thank you for a comprehensive yet easy to follow instructional video. One thing that puzzles me - do you not need to reduce the size of the male part so that it fits snugly into the female?
Chad I have watched this wolf video and I have not been able to figure the start but I see you use a ball endmill with a 6.2 taper and you call it a vbit. so you do not use the rad but that is not going to give a true dia. my males always come small i had to change my start depth to .05 and my finish depth of .150 and it fits pretty close. so where am i going wrong. and I would love to see your pneumatic press Marcel deman
I do use the 12.4 tbn entered as a v bit. The tip has such a small radius it essentially comes to a point. Feel free to email me with any questions bhlwoodworks@gmail.com
With male .05 being max depth (inside gap between pocket and male), is that enough gap to make it have a hollow sound when tapping on cutting block? Others say it should be closer to .02 when it comes to cutting blocks so no hollow sound when tapping. Non-cutting block inlays are good at .05. Your boards look real clean but have never seen any of your videos showing tapping on the inlay and am curious. Thank you!
