The Kaabo Wolf King GTR has gone through a major overhaul and it made significant improvements to its predecessor's weaknesses. Can the brand new Wolf King GTR electric scooter really go the stated 65 mph?
In this review, we do a speed test with the Kaabo Wolf King GTR, go over the upgrades, discuss what we love and hate about it, and let you know who we think it is for.

I have to say thank you so much for delivering what you promised in the title within the first two minutes of the video. For that reason, I have subscribed and watched the whole thing. So many RU-vidrs have intros that are longer than 3min, shoving their "like and subscribe" begging, along with their sponsor ads, all at the beginning long before the real content.

NEVER EVER take your hands off the handlebars while riding. NEVER, LOL. Tried adjusting a phone holder that was rattling at a low speed and found myself laying in front of the scooter in the street. Thought I broke my wrist and elbow. Took weeks to recover. NEVER EVER DO IT. LOL!!!!!! Glad you got right back up

Great that real riders with skills are here reviewing scooters in this class. There are other "influencer" salesmen out there doing so that have no business even riding a hyper scoot, much less pretending to have valid opinions. (Which noobs don't know enough to filter out.) There is a lot to like about this continually evolving design. Looks bullet proof. 13" tires and safety features, yes. Overall, and especially for the money, looks like a true beast. The riding position geometry looks right, friendly to riders who properly shift weight around. Steering appears not jammed back into the torso like another recent entry into the space, and the kick plate looks made to actually comfortably use. Hits the essentials, the fundamentals. My only personal caveats are that the folding mechanism makes it huge to store or put in a vehicle, and the handle bars don't fold. So the use case is optimized for people rolling into a house or garage and not for apartment dwellers with limited space. Greatly more length when folded to store than Thunder 3, Bronco Extreme, etc., designs where stem folds separately from the front wheel. Good shop can probably upgrade brakes to Nutt or Magura. (As to the throttle incident... I myself had a bad crash and injury after 10,000 miles hyper scoot commuting experience due to unexpected throttle. The antidote is to integrate the discipline of always having a hand over the brake before ever touching the throttle. The brake cutoff then automatically prevents any potential runaway incidents. So in Andrew's case, if one hand is off the steering, then the other should be well off the throttle. If an unexpected amount of sensitive throttle causes a hyper scoot to lurch forward, (which can and does happen even to very experienced riders, maybe from wearing gloves.) this can rock the rider back and force him to involuntarily mash the throttle harder. The rider then has to either ditch (maybe in traffic?) or try to hang on and try to find the brake until the crash. Hand always over brake involuntarily kicks in with any lurch and automatically prevents this. A free PSA here that will (hopefully) someday save somebody else out there )

Hey Jimmy and Andrew I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you guys. Your reviews are great and you guys really know your stuff. This particular review has been long anticipated and you guys did a great job of getting it out there for us quickly. I did want to address a couple of issues. Firstly, you really didn't cover the good things about the brakes. The fact that the rotors are thicker (2.9mm in thickness over the typical 1.8mm) is a huge plus. It makes the stopping much more efficient, makes them more rugged so that they last longer and a lot much less susceptible to having issues with overheating. It would be great to see what the braking distance at different speeds ------ You didn't cover the scooters range, the traction control feature, the anti-theft alarm, the hill climbing, max weight as well as several other issues. ESG for instance speaks of the adjustment on the front suspension. This adjustment appears to translate to more of a pre-load adjustment that really only addresses front suspensions performance in relation to the riders weight. With ESG the test rider was light at 165lbs. This seemed to create an issue with front tire traction, especially in light of the scooters power and torque. I would say that being that Andrews weight was 220lbs, his added weight really precluding any real trouble with the front tire excessively spinning out when applying throttle therefore it seems that the GTR is maybe even better for heavier riders when considering the suspension, power, torque, hybrid tires and just generally beefier framework! If I didn't know any better (because I have only seen this scooter on videos) it looks to me like when closely compared to the previous 3 iterations of the Wolf King that it is also considerably beefier. The fork tubes all look like they are thicker and larger in diameter. Even the frame tubing looks greater in diameter. Then there is the fork height? Reports are the the forks are at least 1 1/2" shorter. Now, I seem to think that the fact that the deck is higher in relation to the overall scooter and that is what seems to be making the distinction but you didn't mention that at all. Now, it seems that for Andrew the handlebar height was perfectly comfortable to him so it had very little significance but for some it might? I would also like to see a real full OFF-ROAD edition in which you guys take it out on some real off-road riding, trails and such the like and really get radical so that we can see it in action where the scooter is really going to shine and show how totally fun it will be to ride in that setting. This will also show its great versatility as a scooter! I do very much like the things that you did point out though, it was still a great video, especially seeing the little wipe-out, that was so cool! Although, I am very glad that Andrew didn't get hurt. Between the power/torque of the scooter coupled with the fact that there is no play in the throttle requires a higher level or rider awareness of what he/she are doing on the scooter and what kind of surface they are riding on at any given moment. In any case, I really really like you guys, you make a great team and it adds a great deal of pizzazz to your videos having both of you up there sharing your thoughts on the scooters and such. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!

Thanks for the for the great insight. We mention the thicker brake rotors in our unboxing video and also do measurements of the deck, handlebar height from deck, length when folded, and handlebar width. This video was more about the ride experience and what we like and don't like about it.

Thans for the great review guys! Qustions for @Andrew-vt4jt : 1.Which felt more stable at high speed: GTR or InMotion RS? 2. Which feels more ergonomic between the GTR & InMotion RS? Not referring to the steering height as they can be remidied (RS is adjustable, and GTR, one can put a riser). I am referring to the rake / trail angles. It seems the InMotion RS is much more aggressive, and didn't look that comfortable. 3. Front forks do not have dampers. I noticed whe you were boncing up and down, the rear vs. front suspension travel was at a different rate from one another. Do you believe it's possible to calibrate so that the dampening rate on front vs. back are equal? 4. Which suspension feels better on-road? InMotion or the GTR? I am currently looking to purchase either of these 2 scooters, and these are some of the issues I am having trouble obtaining information on. InMotion doesn't use LGs, while GTR doesn't provide USB charge port, and based on the button / trigger layout, cruise control would be very difficult to engage on GTR (huge issue for me) Thank you!
@Andrew-vt4jt
@Andrew-vt4jt 11 месяцев назад

I'm not exaggerating when I say the Wolf King feels like you're going much faster than you are. And being a foot off the ground on the GTR's probably even more. $5500 CDN and bolts are coming off, the battery's rattling around, the brakes are basically a $35 system, it's got a $3.50 suitcase lock to deter battery thieves & it's got only an IPX5 for water resistance? It's lovely that Kaabo are making money on these, but this scooter's way, way overpriced. It's got one wheel in the current market, the other in 2020. With the industry making a killing on these, the displays are SUPPOSED to be excellent (a small UI is incredible simple to build), the headlights should be that bright (LED lights are dirt cheap), the suspension would have to be adjustable & the throttle precision should be stellar. Unless there's something magical about the controllers, that's no cause for a parade either. Two things I'm very impressed with: (1) the 'removable rim wheels'. Very innovative! (2) the 'double-click' turbo mode that adds 50A to the controllers. Everything else (except top speed) has been done on scoots in the $1500 range. Seriously considering the offerings on the market now, this scooter should cost about 30% less.

As I said in your last video, those batteries will be all over CL and FBMP as soon as people start getting these! Way too easy to steal that $ battery! I HATE the trigger throttles, not only is it uncomfortable for me, but it's also so easy to go to grab the brake and grab the throttle instead... pretty dangerous IMO. And I'm shocked one of the things you hate wasn't the ridiculous deck height! It not only looks terrible IMO, but the high center of gravity wont do you any favors with handling or in low traction instances, never mind the deck height looks like it would be a PITA to live with for daily riding!

Holly s hit I was expecting the RS to be faster then this GTR but that GTR has a higher acceleration lol. I might get that GTR the only flaw to me is that 55 mile mark. I would of like it if it was like close to 100 miles like the RS unless it really does go beyond that claimed 55 mile mark. But since it has a swappable battery I could just buy another battery when the other one is low on juice.
@alwaysplaythegame
@alwaysplaythegame 11 месяцев назад
You won't get 55 miles on either of them if you ride at speed. Most big scooters will come close to watt-hours divided by 60. I'd expect 42ish for this one and 48ish for the RS. Expect lower at 40+mph and higher at 20-mph.
@alwaysplaythegame

Just found out that rider guide tested the RS at 45 miles of range. Considering the top speed that makes sense to be a bit lower than most of the 45mph crowd.
@ssoffshore5111
@ssoffshore5111 11 месяцев назад
@@alwaysplaythegame That was including doing all the testing, including top speed runs above 60 mph. It has a larger battery so it should do more than 45 miles.

@@ssoffshore5111 That is doing their loop from a full charge until max walking speed. I personally get results very close to rider guide on my two scooters, but I'm not a small person so results may vary. I wouldn't get 55 miles on the RS, I'm sure of that. I will note that they run their loop above 30mph average speed (likely 40mph or so in this instance).

Thanks for the review guys! I looked up the protection for the helmets you guys both wear, and they are CE-1078 and CPSC certified. Both are bicycle helmet ratings. (Info from Revrides) If you crash doing 65-70, this helmet won’t protect you. You guys always say wear your gear(I do btw) but yet you wear crap helmets that look good but won’t protect at speed. You have families, right?! Get some real helmets please! I would hate to see anyone hurt. I hate even writing this, but I enjoy your channel.
