THE FLOOD LYRICS: How to stand one´s ground When the flood drowns everything around Conceals and buries under How to rebuild and re-design How to forge as whole and re-divide Broken and torn asunder How to speak without a sound Without a voice utter the words profound Into the silence How to comprehend and to abide How to re-arrange and re-define The emptiness inside Cold winds of the north Black waters and the frozen shores Are waiting for the storm No trails leading forth No pathway to the woods Forsaken and forlorn
I am a Combat Veteran...I have watched my friends die...this song helps me relate to loneliness, confusion, inability to accept what is, concepts of reality, nightmares, difficulty to adapt to society, anger, depression, suicidal thoughts....etc......this song is my Mantra......WOLFHEART!!!
Hey Michael. I hope this Mantra steers you away from the things you relate the song. That was the reason for me to write the song. To conceal certain issues into the song and by that be able to step out from that "box" and see things from a different angle. Almost like observing your self from outsiders point of view for a second. So that loneliness would not create confusion, find a place where one feels home despite the norm os society (someday cabin deep in the woods in my case), channel the anger (guitar, drums, gym in my case) etc. I wish all the best for you M ! -Tuomas-
I thank you for your service. And I can relate to this song as well I am not a vet just a 26 year old man that has lost all his grandparents from age, his father and a great mate to suicide, a brother to SIDs, 3 cousins and an uncle. This song helps with the thoughts that you get some days when your guard is down and I wish you and your family the best.
With the feelings we carry inside, I can't imagine being a combat veteran. Thanks for your selfless service.. it takes a special breed of person. You are the breed we need. You have my kindest regards.
Michael Sharpe. Thank you for your service. My wife did 6 years in the marines, I'm in my first year of the army. I have yet to deploy so I cant say I know your pain, but seeing my wife go through her stuff with losing many freinds is difficult. All I can say is stay strong man, keep pushing and fight through it. Everybody that was taken are true heros and will never be forgotten.
@@janguchelaar5836 I am a big fan of Belakor, 5 years ago I took a photo holding their album Stone’s Reach with the background of Perseus holding Medosa’s head in Florence
Awesome. How the hell Finland, a country with less habitants than a big city, can have so many amazing bands? Is it something in the air or in the water?
I've heard theories before that suggests that because of Finnish society being (at least compared to North American society) more quiet and shy. And heavy metal provides the perfect opportunity of expression and they are able to break free from that silence.
Carlos: It depends, some people are shy here of course but some are very brisk/snell. I think many Finnish people are nervous when they have to speak example english. They are worried that they speak wrongly and thats why many foreing people thinks that Finns are shy. But this is just my opinion ☺
we are not shy, we are just hyperconcious about our general presence. i don't think it's shyness, just.. ehh.. heh.. very confusing inferiority complex :D
Winter beast (Tuomas) is back. Loved this blackish melodic slow tempo song. and the heaviness in the guitar riffs.... This should be a soundtrack for an epic historical movie.
This song is a truly beautiful piece of art. This song was released about 2 weeks before my grandfather passed away. I didn't get to say goodbye to him. He was a sufferer of Parkinson's late in life. So, naturally, I feel regret and this song sums up the Flood of emotions I feel. Such a great metaphor for something real and something so full. Whether it's a real flood or one within you, you must persevere. I don't want to be that person, but, I feel like this song was made for me to be strong and persevere. Thank you Wolfheart for all you've given us.
Hey ! I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. I am glad that my "inner flood" is able to help you someway with your own. I hope all the best for you !
Tuomas, I can't thank you enough for your words and all that you do. I'm sorry I missed your comment... it's been a while since it was written. You've helped me come to grips with the loss of someone dear to me and like I said before, I can't thank you enough. I hope you all are able to come to California in America one day, I'd love to buy you all a beer. And, in the meantime, I wish you all to have peace and happiness on a road to great successes and fulfilled dreams. So, thank you again Tuomas, for your words, your music and all that you do. Cheers brother.
this melodeath stuff coming from Finland nowadays describes the best an average Nordic man - a rather soft dude in heart, loves nature and everything, but bad at expressing himself, therefore often others think he's rude and angry.
I've been listening to metal for about 100 years. This is up there with the best. I know that every era and genre throws up favourites but class always shines through.
ONE of the best Songs i*we heard in a long time!!! Gives me a small ammount of angciety, but mostly Joy, and a hope for the future!!! WAN'T MORE OF THIS !!!!!!!!
and i got another blast of goosebumps at 4:32...that extra voice falling in...fuuuuuck it is beautiful... how can one song be so brutal and soft at the same time...it is art
Wolfheart is going to be in history books, for sure. Tuomas writes bigger and bigger songs album after album. Some would say that he has created a whole new genre, great job :)
What is it with you Finns? From time to time I randomly enter a RU-vid site and instantly fall in love with the music, and of course it's a Finnish band again... something more to explore. Thanks!
There are so many excellent bands in Finland I just keep forgetting some of them! It's been a while since I listened to Wolfheart and the vocalist having BRHG-shirt is just another reminder!
Absolutely amazing song: melody, riffs, drums, vocal, views in clip everything is like from fantasy land. This could be soundtrack to every metalhead life or any serious movie with deep sense \m/ Anotha perfect song
I think this track is now my favorite of Wolfheart... Oh Gods, it's so epic! This band is making such progress. Impressive. Keep on winter-metalling! \m/
Metal can be hateful, loving, passionate, inspiring, adrenaline boosting, depressing, up lifting, understanding and so much more And yes, it can be so very beautiful
I just wanted to let you know that this song keeps me alive and am not even joking, this piece of art needs to be appreciated more, I hate that this song got under 800k views, its unfair, this song is beautiful, I listen to it everyday, when am happy, when I am sad, when I cant feel anything it makes me feel things, things I never thought I would feel, it just sends me to another world, where everything is absolutely beautiful, I just want you guys to keep making music, because you are gods, and not just the gods of death metal, you are the gods of music, I just c nt express how important this song and Zero Gravity are to me, you guys are magical, you truly are, and there are no enough vocabulary for me to describe how genius the vocals, the music, the guitar solo, and the drums. the sceneries and the atmosphere, its just so perfect, this is everything I have ever wanted, and I get bored of music very quickly, but god, this song, it has been in my playlist for more than six months, GOSH, I LOVE YOU GUYS, SO MUCH, AND YOU GIVE ME HOPE AND INSPIRATION, I just wish you all the best, because I owe you so big for this song, love from Jordan, the middle east, from a very grateful 20 years old girl.
Zero gravity makes me live too sometimes i have hard times but wolfheart makes my life much easy with they songs sorry for my bad english im from bosnia
Kävin Before The Dawnin viimeisellä keikalla Metal Capitalissa ja se johdatti minut Wolfhearttiin.
I remember seeing Wolfheart for the first time in the spring, and my thought was "This is the band that Metallica and their fans should learn from". My opinion of this great band hasn't changed. 🤘🤘🤘
i got shivers the very first second of the song,no exaggeration...i think i may even prefer this side of WH over the ,,brutal'' one, there's so much emotion here that cannot be described within one youtube comment...that flute, guitar solo, production, syncopation idea, this is some ethereal stuff!
Tuomas.....salute & respect from India. Thanks for gifting us with this jawdropping track.Keep composing & feeding hungry souls like us. THANKS A TON AGAIN.
