I've made a remastered version of Running with the Wolves by Aurora recreating all the instrumental! The movie is available in 5.1 surround sound so you can mute the other audio channels to silence most of the music getting the vocals.

To be fair, it lost to Soul, which was probably one of Pixar's best movies in the last decade. I still think Wolfwalkers was better, but I can be content with Soul winning. Not like I put a lot of stock in Oscar picks anyway-historically, they always miss the mark. Most of the movies they've picked for best picture have been long forgotten, and many of the films they've snubbed have been remembered for generations. So they really don't matter that much.

Maybe it's just me, but I think i know the feeling. That of being free, out in the forest, running, you never feel tired. So fast yet you feel you could run forever, jump across an entire canyon. You see everything in such detail, notice the smells of rain, tree sap, and grass, along with all the sounds of wind, water, and other animals. It's amazing.

I was a huge fan of wolves when I was a child, if I saw this at 12 it would've absolutely blown my mind As an adults, I still loved it. This scene was beautiful. If you compare the outline of Robyn at the beginning at the movie, with one from the end of the movie, you can notice that her outline slowly became messier, as if to say she slowly became more wild! :D

The humans are drawn with clean lines, and the wolves are drawn with wild lines. Also, if you can notice, Robyn’s lines are getting wilder the more time it passes

I'm not a furry or anything...but I have always dreamt I was a wolf, meant to roam the earth. Run on all fours, freely and hunt with my people. To watch this movie and this scene in particular...it brings me great amounts of joy. To this day even as an adult, I still dream. One could say it has to do with superstition or beliefs of some sort...who knows. I'm pretty much just some average person in life, not the type to say "I'm a werewolf" or howl because I'm very quiet and keep to myself haha. But these dreams mean the world to me. To feel so liberated. Nothing like when I'm awake. Not like anything I've felt while conscious.

In my heart it won the Oscar. But when it goes up against Pixar and Disney it will never win, and that's such a shame. Soul was brilliant and defo deserved the Oscar I just wished they'd make a more "indie" category so others except Disney stood a chance.

The Oscars don’t care about foreign films at all. They will always award big American companies such as Disney Pixar no matter what. There are so many anime movies that deserve Oscars but don’t get them because the Oscars ignore them. But don’t worry about that, great movies don’t need an Oscar and will always get many other awards from different places.

I didn't really liked soul and personally think wolfwalkers should have won but one time it was clear something was wrong was when Big Hero 6 won in 2014. I don't care if HTTYD 2 or Song of the Sea won but Big Hero 6 did not deserve it.

I love how these two girls needed eachother in their lives and came together in such an unexpected way. Robyn's new sense of freedom and Mebh finally feeling less alone. It all came together so beautifully and you can see the genuine connection

One thing I noticed that I love about this movie is that the wolf walkers in their wolf forms communicate like real wolves do. Like when Mebh is telling Robyn to close her eyes, her ears are up and her tail is wagging slightly, which is how wolves say they're happy, and when Robyn initially refuses to jump, she's cowering with her tail between her legs, which is how wolves communicate that they're scared.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one this scene brought to tears. My Apple TV free trial expires tomorrow and I managed to squeeze watching this in before I went to work today. Best decision ever. Reminds me of the days during my childhood when I was OBSESSED with wolves. I mean, I still am, but gods, I played WolfQuest, ran a whole forum to roleplay with others as a pack, etc. Even got into Nancy Drew because of the White Wolf of Icicle Creek PC game. So my love of puzzles and escape rooms can all be thanks to my unhinged wolf obsession. Even though it was made in 2020, this tickled my nostalgia bone to the core. Thank you for bringing up such beautiful memories and being such a cute story. If I ever have kids, they will grow up with stuff like this.

@@beautifulspacesllc You would be surprised, it definitely takes longer, but cg/3d animated movies are definitely more expensive. It's more about the output speed for the big animation companies, and they tend to make lots of money so they're willing to spend more to have more frequent releases. no loss, just lots and lots of gain. But it never has the same mystifying feeling as the 2d films, that's what i think at least.

YESS in 2D animation everything is so beautiful, and you can just focus on the perspective of the characters instead of modeling the whole entire thing in 3D animation when some of the parts don’t even show in the camera. Also 2D animation really gives those old vibes we all love and some miss.

@@SanguiniCore At the theatre where I went they took things *VERY* seriously. Masks were mandatory everywhere (you were only allowed to take masks off once you were in your seat so you could eat) and you had to book your seats in advance and weren't allowed to sit anywhere that wasn't a designated seat. If all seats were filled for a showing you had to choose a different time with open seats. They even had whole rows closed for the sake of social distancing and making sure everyone was safe. Helped that the theatre I went to with my friend was practically empty too which was quite strange for a theatre that was usually super busy.

You know they actually used CGI at first? They used computers to build the layers and the world around Robyn and Mebh, but then painstakingly hand-drew over the layers to give it that traditional look. I love that they had the technology at hand but decided not to show it off, but only to set up a path and make it easier for the ones that hand-drew over it.

When I first saw this movie years ago, I had no clue what therianthropy was. I always have had a fascination with animals and wolves in particular, and I loved this movie the first time I saw it. Recently, I discovered that therianthropy existed. It made everything pretty clear, and helped me understand why I love wolves so much. I'm one myself! Coming back to this and finally understanding why it was so special to me is cathartic. I'm so glad this movie exists.

yeah but when you get to be a wolfwalker you lose some liberty too, you are trading being in a society with the comforts of that with being forever stuck in a circle, or even alone, for the rest of your life, imagine this, you are a 25 year old person, you have a great job that you love, you are free to do everything you want with hobbys and such, but one day when you are in the forest because your job is to hunt, a wild wolf shows, you get and arrow on his leg but he doesnt seem that hurt, it seems like he is regenerating, you try to cut his troath to ensure the hunt but you arent that experienced and the wolf bits you, now every night you are a wolf, you cant keep the lie anymore and you have to go, you lost your life and everyone you loved, what if i told the ones that i trust ? well most surelly you will get killed, nobody likes to see a wolf in their house, and even if you did they would not be able to do anything, you are stuck there forever, alone, and if you want your family to follow you then they are losing their lifes too, just because of you and your poor fate.

I just love this scene. It's so powerful and gives me the feeling of how it feels to be free and frolicking with your best friend in fantasy land. Away from all your worries at home/work/school and just living your best life without caring what others think. The music, animation, and characters all go so well together. No words can describe how magnificent and magical this animation feels to me. i wish i could run through long grass fields as the wind flew on me and birds flew over our heads as our wolf pack ran after us going into caves with glowing crystals and the warmth filling the air. Going through a tunnel with leaves and branches while the sun set cuddling in to a corner for the night and waking up to go hunting following a rabbit as they gracefully hop away but my paws prounce onto the rabbit and then climbing a tree with my friend to look over the whole forest seeing a great river stream so we chase for it following the picture my mind took up there like a standing above a maze and following the footsteps to find the river stream and fishing for any prey to feast on and swimming in the river with my friend until we reach the end and a gorgeous waterfall is coming- but - we act too late and fall down the stream to find ourselves underwater we jump up for breathe as we laugh together, then a toad is spotted by my friend and they chase after it i follow them to lead eachother into a interesting pile of snow in the middle of summer. we jump into it and shake off the snow. we fall asleep next to eachother warm and safe.

My dude she's no other than AURORA.. AURORA has such an aura about her that makes you kinda addicted to her music. Her style of music is very different from the mainstream, n m sure you'll find her other songs as soulful/enjoyable as this one

Eyes closed, complete darkness, laying in bed and puting on headphones with a 70% volume? Yes it does feel like you're dreaming. I actually want to try this sitting in my backyard, to actually feel the grass, the wind and everything.
