Fantastic attention to detail. The final product looks more expensive both aesthetically and quality than a brand new 1K mile.

I love it when the shoes/boots are almost wrecked, destroyed almost and then restored. Feels good to see when an old grungy and destroyed pair of footwear being brought back to glory. A good example of why one should invest in a good shoe and find a good cobbler.

Guys I know this is very hard work for y'all but they are so calming for me to watch at lunch hour at the body shop. Getting to see someone do something that has nothing to do with cars. Thank you guys so much

You guys should make a reality show. You guys have that look for TV. Each episode can include the story of the customer who brought the shoes in for repair and overly enthusiastic comments on how you guys repair the shoes. I'd watch it

Hey guys love this episode so much I just invested in my first pair of 1000 mile boots last night, I get them in 2 weeks I’m getting them delivered to Glasgow, Scotland I’m a bit excited about them coming I’m like a big kid waiting on a new toy lol but I’m 50 this year I’ve always been a shoe guy but you’re explanation of leathers and welts etc really hit home about proper shoe care thanks 👍🏻

What i really appreciate is that the owner "really" wore those boots. Why spend that much money for them to just have in the closet. Also he saw that they needed to be repaired and not just tossed away. In the nick of time no less, but still in time. I make it a point to buy shoes that can be resoled and get the very most out of them. Lol I was laying in bed watching and I hear the hello gentlemen and I turn around and tell my husband “Pfft, he’s not being inclusive.” Mostly as a joke, I like to joke with him that I love how the youtuber from The Report of the Week makes everyone feel acknowledged, even my furbabies with his greeting at the beginning of his videos. So anyway he just smiles and goes back to sleep and I scroll down to comments and see others pointing out that it’s not only gentlemen watching. Lol I laughed out loud and woke him up again. I love that in the newest videos you’ve included ladies. I appreciate that. I have found a new binge worthy channel and have shared your videos with my siblings and parents. My family is from Guanajuato, México and the state is known for its leather and shoe making along with the mummies. My dad always wanted to learn this trade or rather this artistry but never did and now he gets to watch it at least through youtube. He doesn’t understand a word but watches none the less. #EndRant lol thank you guys.

I have on order a leather sewing awl...don't know why...I sort of remember my dad using one when I was a kid. I know he had one. I will have to find a how-to to use it. Watching you do the welt made me think of it... It is coming on a slow boat from China-not expensive- just something I want to play with. ( I do sew some leather handbags ) Everytime I see the shoe anvil, I think of my grandmother. She had one. I think she had the same pair of shoes for as long as I can remember when I was a kid...they were leather, laced up, but had about 2 inch heels and that is what she always wore. She died mid 1980's. I remember seeing her repair her shoes.

I really enjoy watching your craftsmanship, so thank you for sharing! I have to ask though, given the time and effort these restorations/repairs take, and what your time, skill and knowledge must be worth, would it not be cheaper to buy a new pair of boots? I’m not saying your time isn’t worth it, quite the opposite, by all appearances these boots are better than new. These videos are causing me to look more closely at my own boots and appreciate them more.

Looks really good. Infact, better than a new pair of shoes.

Here's what I really liked about the finished product. While it had the new heels and soles, the top portion of the boot still retain some of its well-worn look. Work boots should look like work boots and these still have that. Takes a lot to get a pair of boots broken in like that.

After watching you two overhaul these old boots and shoes, I can understand why good footwear is expensive.

So annular rings make the nails hold the heels on better. Nice touch. Nails can be dangerous if not applied correctly. I had a pair of boots reheeled and a nail stuck up enough to catch my heel. I used a 12" socket extension to hammer it over. Much more comfortable.

I need to hit you guys up. i have a pair of Wolverine 1000-mile wingtip boots in a two-tone brown color and they need to have the soles and heels re-done. These look great!

If I owned these shoes I wouldn't dare walk outside in them , I'd put them on display showing the work of art they are.

Great looking finished product, wish the customer had gone with a pop of color on the sole stitching, that would really have made for a cool contrast. Watched another channel 1000 mile resole , the sole wasn't channeled and the stitching was left proud (at least it sure looked that way), didn't look too durable, but I'm not a cobbler.

What's your opinion of the Wolverine 1000 mile boot? Good value? That pair certainly took a beating and was nicely rejuvenated.

As a carpenter/mason I can assure you that is NOT a big daddy hammer. Lol Love the videos.

I wish you guys...with your sense of quality, and style, would make an everyday, light use but long wearing lace up boot. Not too dressy, not to work inspired, but a boot you can wear everyday, like a sneaker. Cross between a 1000 Mile and a Thursday boot. Keep it a reasonable price like a Red Wing. Keep it generic design and colors. So it can be replicated easily. Think iPhone...where they tell the consumer what they like. An everyday is needed. Boot manufacturers worry too much about Sprint runs, one offs, etc. I just wish they would make a boot that is always a fallback, always a given. Just something you buy because they are reliable, and never go out of style, like a pair of Levi's. Thanks guys! Soon as my Red Wings, 1000 Miles, or Chippewa boots need resoled. I will be sending them to you!

All I can say is wow! So I have a pair of Wolverine boots that need re-soled. Black over the ankle safety toe. Went to website, $195.00 to resole. Went to Wolverine website $184.00 brand new. Kinda a no brainer, huh!

Do you have a more full-fledged video of how you did the uppers on a shoe that was as old and worn and scuffed up as this one? I have a shoe that's in similar state visually, and would love to see it get the love it needs. I'm not looking get them to a mirror shine (boots don't lend themselves to mirror shines, do they?), just make them look like good well-cared for boots.

Hello Trenton, Hello Heath. Your entire story is really impressive, and should serve as an inspiration to young people everywhere. That you followed a passion, made a sacrifice and took a risk is testament to your success and hopefully continued growth. I am a business owner, which I set up with a budget of ZERO and a borrowed computer. Nearly 20 years later it's still going, and still growing. People ask how it's done, and by watching you I know you've used the same formula as me: Belief, passion, and most importantly, hard work. There's no other way around it. I have a pair of C&J SHell Cordovan boots, I wonder if they'd work with a nice leather sole? I know they're boots, but I like to wear them with a suit, and can't help but think a nice fiddle waist would look incredible. Any thoughts on such a change?

Now this appears to be one competent and talented craftsman. What do you think, one out of 100, 1000, 10,000, and falling? I don't know what this restoration cost, but you can bet I'm bookmarking it for when my black Thousand Milers need repair.
