This one is a young adult, the odds of a grizzly bear running vs wolves will be totally different with a fully grown-up one. I would say the wolves will be the ones running away in this case
That's not true. Both are math experts. Neither want to risk injury. But even just two wolves, if a fight is a certainty they can methodically work on the back of the bears ankles. It might seem benign to us, but a wolf bite to those tendons is no joke. And it only takes one. The bear knows this, too. The wolves are too fast for the bear to easily grab, unless a mistake is made. You can see with this or other encounters, it's the only thing the wolves ever do is to go for bites to the back of the legs, because it ends up as serious injury that a bear might fight through in the short term, but can be a huge problem in the end. The bear is afraid because of this. You can see how their main concern and vulnerability is the back ankles, and do everything they can to keep them from the wolves. The wolves are not afraid of the bear because it can't catch them. But the wolves also know they can't do anything to the bear in terms of killing it quickly, because of the bear's power and its own jaws & claws. Both are smart. But a grizzly that doesn't have fear of wolves is a dumb bear.

I love wolves being from Minnesota but getting all up close and being in paw range isn't happening , just not alot of documents of each species hunting each other or eating each other as wolves typically follow bear to carcasses with the better sniffer a bear posesses or a bear dominating wolf kills if mature and hungry.
The wolves would not have attacked him if he went back in or continued his normal course, they attacked him only when he ran, you can apply this in your daily life..

Wolves were just playin just like we did as kids from the neighborhood. Any kids we didn't know came on around we would test him to see if he was a punk or a stand up kid.
The wolves will usually just make sure the bear is out of the bounds they don't want him inside of. They usually are not going to press a pointless attack on a bear that has taken cover.
This is a young not fully grown bear. If he was dumb enough to fight a whole pack he would get killed ultimately. But there is a video floating around of a giant full grown grizzly feeding on a kill while fending off 13 or 14 giant hungry wolves with ease and no fear of them.

The wolfs showed him nothing. As soon as he stopped running they were baking off peeing all-over. Also the bear isn't fully grown, just a young inexperienced cub.
Kangal dog can kill a wolf with a single bite, hear they can even defeat bears. I don't mean a 1000 pound monster but Kangals just rip right through wolves and can more than hold their own against bears.
