This isn't great but it's not bad either. Pretty straightforward BM. I like the nod toward Burzum with the synth riff around the 6:00 minute mark.

honestly, whether you like it or not, BM was founded on NS/Aryan ideology. People like Varg introduced BM to the world. With out people like him do you think BM would of went anywhere? Sorry dude truth hurts Also, Wouldn't really consider WITTR "BM" they're more like Shoegazy ambient metal if anything. They even said they werent BM in an interview. Good musicians regardless.

John Mead muh trve kvlt BM isn't allovved atmosvere 😢😢😢😢 shut up it's got heavy hardcore and phc influence, the heavy production of thrash and speed metal, its just got sections of more peaceful atmosphere, that doesn't make it not easily identifiable BM.

@@ed946 No prob, dude. Interesting to see that they used this painting in the imagery, because they also have a song named after a painting called "Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog." The sea of fog here is above the forest and is why you see them put the horses above the forest.

TBH, now I don't expect much from the new album. Metal parts are too generic and boring both on this song and serpent's eye (however Hausswolff's performance is just.. haunting. It's better than anything she recorder before). It seems like they said all they had to say in the previous albums, and this one is just a gesture to the fans who have long asked for new material.

gotta wait for the whole thing and see how it all fits in the grander scheme of things tbh, going for more traditional in your face blackmetal in the metal parts might be an interesting move. If you think about it, this kind of straight and simple metal is definitely something new in their work so I can't say that they aren't moving onto new stuff with a straight face. PS: After a few listens I can say with more confidence that I'm digging it
