“The more you engage a sentient creature, the more they will respond back to you.” The ultimate takeaway lesson. I know from experience that this is true.

Many people don’t understand what sentient animals are. They have the capacity to experience positive and negative emotions such as pleasure pain fear joy sadness and depression and distress that matter to them. They also learn remember respond and obey. Some say they don’t have a conscience but I don’t 3:11 agree. Many animals respond in ways that appear to apologize. They learn to trust or not. Just love them and give them the benefit of the doubt and they will show you what they can do.❤❤❤❤❤

@@dguarino1974 If George had a liver issue, you wouldn't say one thing about putting him on medication. But when he has a brain issue, his only option (according to you) is that he should "work through it." Your approach worked like shit for George's previous *four* owners, but you choose to denigrate the one person who actually had a breakthrough with George. Way to be. 🙄

Yep. Our cat escaped from a neighbor's house - repeatedly - and always ended up at our house. The neighbors seemed completely unbothered and were quite willing to let him come live with us. I was puzzled because who pays $2K for a cat and then just gives it away? Well, it didn't take long for me to figure out why. He's quite a handful! Very demanding, bitey, and insistent. And smart. My life would be a lot easier if he'd never learned how to open doors.

I think it’s problematic when people breed animals like this. Most people are not gonna be able to handle something that’s partially wild. I even had a domesticated Russian blue that would try to ambush me on the stairs, and I had to rehome her. She had to be in a house with lots of children and constant attention and activities, or she would literally be destructive.

@@KittyBoom360sometimes you have to. I had a severely anxious cat that was terrified of his own shadow. He would get cystitis and constantly pee blood. After prozac he was a different cat. Unless you've delt with it, you shouldn't talk badly about things you don't understand
@KittyBoom360
@KittyBoom360 11 месяцев назад
@@parisinthe30sx Your cat had cystitis and was peeing blood, and so you gave him Prozac? That doesn't make any sense. If your cat is doing better now and no longer peeing blood, it's not because of the Prozac. And if his behavior is better now, it's because he's no longer ill from whatever was causing the symptom of cystitis and peeing blood and not because of the Prozac. He probably just healed on his own regardless of your misguided efforts or whatever toxins you were feeding him. And, yeah, I don't understand. I don't understand why parents would give their kids/pets Prozac. It's like giving them sleeping pills to make them fall asleep instead of solving the problem of why they are having trouble sleeping. You're just numbing them, dulling their life, while turning them into addicts, perhaps even making them more psychotic (as Prozac use is positively related to crime rates), instead of helping them deal with any issues. Stop drugging your pets/children and try taking a more proactive approach to improving their lives.

They’re also very high energy so need a lot of physical stuff to do. If young cats don’t get enough exercise and are bored they will look for something to do. Since George was brought up in a rather violent household, attacking and looking for a fight was his go to response. My childhood cat was given up by his first family because they played very rough and thought his fighting back was funny - when he was a tiny kitten. He didn’t stay small long and they rejected him. We just had to deflect his attacks and not reward them with attention, while also providing lots of affection and play time with toys. It didn’t take long for him to figure out how to get what he wanted. He was a wonderful, gentle, protective kitty.

Wow, not only are his meows very sweet sounding, but I swear she has actually managed to teach him English as well, lol. When she asked him to jump, I’m sure I heard him say “I do. I know.” He is clearly very attached to her & she is also VERY good at reading him. 🥰 These 2 are actually the perfect match for one another! She is indeed VERY skilled at managing challenging & complex animal behaviours. I have a Behavioural Science degree & would quite confidently say that she is doing pretty much everything right. 👌 In fact, the terminology she uses seems to suggests 1 of 3 things. Either she has a similar background herself; or she has extensively researched Animal Behaviouralism; or alternatively, she is just highly intuitive, with an uncanny ability to read behaviour; or perhaps even all of the above. Overall, excellent job. You are a good example of how to manage challenging behaviours. Well done. 👍

We acquired our female silver marble Bengal, Mikka, as a rescue, too! She was 'crazy' skiddish as a kitten and pretty vocal, as I've learned over the years most Bengals are if you converse with them regularly__with their classic 'raspy', sometimes 'gargling' meows. 😺 Another common 'trait' is they enjoy walking across the highest points in their environment, knocking things off as they go along, sometimes intentionally. 😛🐾🐈 Two things are for certain, 1) no matter the variances you can always tell Bengals by looking at their faces__and they produce stares that seem to look intently into your brain; 2) they are highly intelligent, and learn very quickly! 😺 George is a gorgeous little boy__and his 'aggressiveness' will mellow out a little as time goes by. My Mikka is my 11 1/2 year old little 'princess' with the occasional 'drama queen' attitude__she is definitely a 'personality', and we love her dearly! 🐾🐈💖 Love, Light, and Bengal Blessings. 🙏😇✨💫🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳🌎💖🙌😺

He was obviously feral but anything else was unknown . He had digestive issues and gastrointestinal issues. He was the sweetest little kitten. Our beautiful cat had died at 14yrs of age from thyroid cancer and we were desperate to find the right kitty. I took one look at the tiny ball of fluff so terrified in the cage. I asked to pick him up .I reached in and he recoiled and hissed. I placed my hand on him and began to pet him. I picked him up. He immediately snuggled into my down coat. I bent over and kissed the top of his tiny head and whispered “I love you” He tilted his little head up and kissed my nose . From that moment on he has been my kitty. His name is Beau the masculine of Bella who was our kitty. We have discovered from our vet that Beau is in fact a blue Bengal hybrid with a tabby. He is not a year old and he is approximately 17 Ilbs . He is probably about F5 Bengal so he has both tabby and Bengal characteristics. He doesn’t shed much and he has the sparkle coat. He trills chirps and barks. He has a Bengal build but his only spots are on his tummy. You have a Bengal who is probably an F4 but wasn’t fortunate to get an understanding home as a baby. You are on the right track but you have some work. We will start leash training Beau very soon . IF you decide to do this you must have a very secure halter and leash . Goodluck Love from Beau and family ❤❤❤❤

Whether it's a human animal or a cat or dog, it's all the same needs: understanding, acceptance, kindness and LOVE. Julia has these in abundance and gives them in return. Plus, her love of teaching does her so well with everyone she has relationships with! I kept smiling as I watched the video. I'm a retired psychologist and I sincerely wish more people understood these "facts of life.". Roberta Sparrow, PhD

Special person to stick with a cat like George. She truly loves him! To have had so much blood drawn by him, the howling, the aggression, yet these are the kind of cats that are good with fostering kittens because they know babies are babies and need baby treatment.

Wonderful video. I have an 18 lb strong muscular bengal, who was behaviorally like George. He was owner surrendered at 5 years old, to the shelter that i provide foster services for. For 2 years we worked on positive reinforcement, enrichment, training, etc etc, along with OTC calming products. We did it all for our bengal. No change in his aggressive behavior. The vet recommended that Buddy the bengal be put on Prozac. OMG!!! What a miracle. Within 2 days of being on the medication, we observed significant positive change. As on writing this, Buddy has been on Prozac for 6 weeks. He is relaxed, affectionate with humans and our other cats, and he no longer attacks us and draws blood. We are so grateful that the vet recommended medication for Buddy. He is now at ease with his life.

We have a cat that has a personality not everyone can handle too. All they really need id someone who sees them and gives them a fair chance to find a loving home. The reward you get for giving them stability and love is the greatest gift.
