The issue is allowing a calculator to tell you what you can afford. When I purchased my home, I made sure my husband and I could afford it on one income. We still pay less than renting a 2bd apartment. So no matter what we decide to do, or work, we can still afford our mortgage.

Home ownership is a scam. All my life I was told to make sure your home is paid off before you retire! Well I’m retired. Haven’t had a job selling my time in 15 years. Guess what? I don’t own a home because I have owned 3 and it’s NOT worth it. As a matter of fact, many of those I know who own their home are struggling financially due to property taxes and insurance. A home is not an asset unless it throws off cash you can spend. But if you’re living in that home there is virtually NO BENEFIT! Yes home ownership can work for some people but nowadays NOT for most. The goal should be financial freedom NOT home ownership.

I don't want a house and i can fix 95% of what can go bad im a house. So, most women have to pay someone big dollars to fix anything. I just helped my friend upgrade his electric service from 60 amp to 200 amp service. That will typically cost 8 to 10K in my area.

The key ladies is to start out small, and you can refinance for 15 years, not 30. Then you buy another and become a landlord and get paid.

I still don't understand why people don't know that you cannot own a house in America. You cannot own property in America. And this is because you cannot own the land that the property is sitting on. You can only rent the land that's why you pay taxes every year. The taxes is actually your rental fee. If you stop paying this rental fee anything connected to that land will be confiscated. Now if you have a functioning mobile home you may get away with it by driving away. But a traditional house that is permanently connected to the land will always belong to the government. The loophole is that you can sell the rental agreement of the property on the land for a profit. But if you miss them payments they will take everything you just thought you bought. It's not like your car. Even if you don't pay for registration once your car is paid off they can't just take it. They can only fine you for it and it's a fine you do not have to pay. Those fines are connected to the license plate which is not yours.

Oh, also, keep in mind in a lot of states and a lot of counties. It's actually illegal. If you get caught doing certain home, modifications or um, do it yourself projects. Yeah, you can actually get arrested. Lose your home and get fined. Even if you fixed it correctly, but because you did not follow their particular protocols and standards. Men are logical. A home is a boat anchor in payments, and upkeep! If men have a desire to invest why would he purchase a single family dwelling? instead men may purchase apartment buildings and allow the renters to pay the mortgage and create passive income with 100 doors and a management company taking care of renters and property.

The Home buying process is actually paying for the opportunity to live at a property under the agreement that you maintain the upkeep of the property as long as you stay there. If you don't upkeep the property, the city, town, or village that you live in will constantly send you fines for not taking care of their property that you agreed to take care of as long as you live in it. 😂

I don’t have a personal car or truck other than a 2009 Ford F350 and a 2006 Chevey C4500 which are tools and not luxury vehicles. The wife has a Tahoe which is the family vehicle. I don’t watch any games at all don’t drink smoke or gamble. I also choose to never purchase any clothing with a name brand as all these things are unnecessary for me. Of 6 children, 2 girls and 4 boys, I’m doing my best to make sure that I’m not in the process of releasing monsters into the world which are potentially tomorrow’s prisoners. It’s not a fun experience living this way but it is a joyfully one. Hopefully you’re more intelligent than I am thus understanding that these these words have have different definitions. The whole live in it for 30 years is a dated model. Start with a modest house, put some work into it, build sweat equity and paper equity as the market goes up, and sell it using the equity from the 1st house as a down payment to upgrade. Owner finance the 1st property to another family starting out, charge them a premium on what you’re paying for the mortgage and make profit. Lower your DTI ratio by showing bank you have someone else taking care of the first mortgage to qualify for the second. Use earned income from work and shown income from 1st house to qualify for the next one. You can structure the deal where the renters buy from you down the line or have them pay off that mortgage for awhile and refinance if they don’t want to buy it. There are ways to build wealth thru real estate but it’s about having knowledge or leveraging knowledge from others and having a plan. Buying a house just to do it will leave you like these women. They just don’t know what they doing know

With a house, owned, you are responsible for the maintenance and taxes. No opportunity to save on a consistent basis if you have unexpected expenses. Apartments have flat consistent payments on an annual basis.maintainence & taxes are the apartment owner's responsibility and headache. Save and invest.
