I have an eighteen year old cat. I got her at just four weeks of age because her mothers' milk ran dry and the family who owned them couldn't cope. I can't imagine rehoming her nor my seven year old cat. I'm hoping she breaks all records for longevity. But in the sad event of her passing, I would definitely want to save one of the many older cats I see being given away, as my heart breaks for them. So glad you gave this girl a chance. My old cat also has an old lady voice, and she doesn't like the other cat or my dog very much - she never hisses as her glance alone is enough to scare them away from her, lol. But she loves us humans and is very loving and adores cuddles and pats.

I adopted my girl from the Humane Society in Denver when she was 2 years old. She lived to be 24 years old! I urge anyone who doesn't want to adopt older animals to realize that this is possible.

Nothing beats the sound of a snoring kitty. My cats have always been adult/senior and they're really the best! And, to me, she looks quite amused, or at least happy, comfortable and loved, and that's all that matters.

It’s like they excepted her for who she really is and it’s just an amazing experience to just watch you know it’s like meant to be for dogs and cats to get along how wholesome ❤

I, too, adopted a senior cat (9 years at the time) and it was one of the better choices I've made in life. Teeth removal was pricy, but totally worth it so that she can live a good, pain-free life!

My two male cats are ages 16 and 18. I've had them since they would fit into the palm of my hand--they were my babies (among other adoptees)! Now they are my grandfathers, but still just as demanding and full of love. Your senior cat is beautiful, and she is lucky to be in your loving home.

I got my cat as a kitten and I’ve had him for nearly a decade. Wouldn’t trade any of it, he’s raspy but very quiet mostly. Looking forward to many more years to come

We adopted a five year old male cat a few months ago that sounds just like Millie. He doesn't meow much at all but when he does, he sounds just like your cat here. He's also missing a lot of teeth. He was a barn cat before we got him. He's in great health other than about half his teeth being missing.

I adopted an 11 year old cat and when the shelter asked me why I told them I would hate to think no one would rehome my other 2 cats if something happened to me. He had the most stunning personality and behaved more like a dog, sitting by the gate waiting for me to come home or next to me wherever I went. He lived to be 21 and is buried in my garden at his favourite sunny spot. These older rescues know how to show their appreciation!

❤ to Millie! It’s so wonderful to see seniors getting adopted. I ve adopted 3 senior dogs, adored all of them, no regrets, even though I didn’t intend on adopting them. All were from different places. It took an emotional toll on me though, only sharing a short time of their lives and loosing all 3 in the last 2 years. Maybe one day I’ll adopt another senior. Right now I need some healing. I would rather need healing than them being unwanted or alone.

Super happy for that awesome cat. But please, let's not normalize giving up a cat after ten years of them building a life. It's pretty awful actually... "We thought the cat would be better off with someone else".. so we throw our poor senior in the shelter. I'd have a grumpy face too. Thankfully this awesome cat got matched up with her awesome human.

She's a doll!! My last cat lived to 20 so don't let Millie get too fat. I have another cat who has put on weight as she's very inactive so we give her a can of Friskies fancy feast a day with reduced calorie dry food. We only give her dry food at certain times with no open grazing. She gets a few Temptations thrown in for a treat. I don't know if she'll ever slim down but we're trying. I found a cute kitty in spca. She was a 3 years old Maine Coon and she was in the « death row » to be euthanized because she was abused by her previous owner for not have won the first beauty contest. So she was blinded and had scars on her front head. We adopted her against Spca concerns and she took 2 years to come from under the sofa! But she loved my kids and soon played hockey ans soccer with them in the corridor. She was a lap girl and lived to 23 years!

She is simply beautiful as are you for taking a typically unadoptable kitty into your heart and home. Mine are 19 years old strictly indoors so milly could give you many years more love.

I found my Snoozee living under a shrub in my front yard in October 2020. She had been abandoned. When I took her to the vet to check for a chip, she actually had a microchip and had been originally pulled from the Los Angeles County Animal Shelter (and certain death) by a SoCal cat rescue sometime in 2008 where she was adopted at around six months old. At some point, the original owner gave her up to someone else and somehow Snoozee wound up living in my front yard -- 250 miles away from her original home. Snoozee turns 15 this year, and my daughter and I can't imagine life without her! Snoozee also has had a total of nine teeth pulled, including an upper canine and she now had the most adorable crooked smile -- just like Millie! Snoozee has also developed arthritis in one of her shoulders, and was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, which is common in cats. Both conditions are well treated. We know as a "senior kitizen," we won't have Snoozee another 10-15 years but we love her and she's now found a loving family that treats her like the queen she is. We're making sure Snoozee lives the carefree kitty life all cats deserve. Millie is absolutely beautiful!😻🐈‍⬛🐾❤️💯

Adopting an adult rescue cat is the best. Forget the kittens, they will always find a home. These grown cats, who have often been through hardship, really need a good home, and they will shower u with their love and their devotion and unending loyalty for the rest of their lives!
