The reason this conference opened with a circus act is that mega churches are all about entertainment. Their members attend because of the show and then can congratulate themselves for regularly attending church.

Having been in an evangelical church, I can tell you that women can be there as long as they are making/serving the food. And only the "most trusted" women would be invited to do so. Also, they're still talking about the spirit of jezebel?! I guess that's still a way of keeping people in their place.

She also seemed surprised that a church would prey on the emotions of those in attendance. They (churches) do that to all unfortunate enough to be trapped in their orbit.

The only part that shocks me is where the security guy puts his hand on the woman (at approximately 16 minutes). When I heard her description of what he did, my immediate reaction was that he assaulted her. Even if his physical contact with her doesn't qualify as assault, he was obviously using his size and strength to intimidate her. And he did it in front of her children.... What is wrong with these people? He was way out of line, no matter what his intentions were -- and no one said anything. This is very disturbing.

You have to take into consideration the past abuses of Driscol and his never ending quest for power and his propensity to fuck up churches. OMG -after 18 years…we had a similar situation after 12 years - we’d been there longer than the pastor…and yes, they invited our kids back but not us…oh, the hubris 😑……I just keep singing, “ And they’ll know that we are Christians by our love”🎶. Ugh….

The timing choice of sermons disturbs me. A local church where I live chose to preach one Sunday on tithing/generosity and requested it's members to give 2.5x what they typically tithe... then the following Sunday they preached on OBEDIENCE... then the following week was their christmas service, AGAIN asking the members to give 2.5x what they typically would.

At a men's conference a man went shirtless for part of a performance, and Driscoll jumps right to sexual connotations? Has the man never been to the beach? And for it to be sexual, he's rather admitting to some members being gay. I am also impressed that this woman stood up to the cult she disagreed with. A shame that it was in the name of a cult she agreed with.

There is a Mega Church in my area called Itown Church. The Pastor is Dave Sumrall, the grandson of the late, infamous Lester Sumrall. I had a devastating experience there and recently met with a lady who shared with me a similar situation to what this lady had. Like the lady in your video, she innocently went to Itown for the first time to attend a service. Being from another country, English is not her first language. She was curious as to why there were police officers with guns in the lobby. When she began asking questions, they did the same thing to her and actually arrested her! She was pushed outside, put in handcuffs, forced into a car, and taken to jail! She has videos of the entire situation. I am sending you an email about it. You might consider covering it, too.

However, the Hyles Anderson college founder always walked around with two body guards. The first advert with this video was some american mega church talking about volunteering to fight for israel. Not sure if it meant literally because I didnt watch it that long. Kind of wasted on me... I love watching crazy religious people fight. Its like watching really drunk people fight but without the guilt you feel about not breaking it up. Also, that lady should lay off the religious classes and take a few english classes, with special emphasis on how to use paragraphs. And she actually took notes of her meeting. She should press assault charges against security for grabbing and pushing her. The church does have a right to ban her. But to do so they have to serve her with a No Trespass order. They can't just rough her up based on verbal claims of what the "executive leadership" demands. I know this because I've been through a similar situation with a private school that claims to have banned me but never actually did it.

When my wife and i first met i moved from my home state to iowa. She attended church of christ (which is a weird breakaway from mormonism mixed with more christianity. ) we were living together and i wasn't part of their church so i usually skipped it. Anyway one morning the "elders" called us into there office and thought they were going to adminish me so i would leave. I stood up, told them they had bigger issues than just speculating on what we may or may not be doing in our home. We had a marriage license. So we were technically married, but preacher man said he wouldn't do a ceremony because we were unrepentant of our sin. I pulled up a copy of marriage license and told him to watch who he calls a sinner, lest you get tagged the same. " 6 months later, hes a raging alcoholic, his wife left him. His daughter went no contact and his son was living in my guest house because he came out as gay. Since we left Iowa, its gone further down hill. The church is no more. Prechers wife left iowa. Wpnderful woman too. Preacher just disappeared. The son graduated and is married to a really nice guy. Daughter is married and has two babies.

She should set up a booth in public right of way near the church entrance.

The James River church has shown its true face. This is good. Another good thing about James River is the development of the James River Mice, that produce very large litters; used in medical research. Years ago I had a friend give me a few for breeding, and I remember the females looked like little ping pong balls with noses and tails when they were very pregnant.
