I can understand running for safety. But no one came back to clean up because they're in hiding now not wanting to take any responsibility for all of the damage and this woman's death.
So no clue what happened or any information on how someone ended up dying then says "listen to what this guy has to say" and then shows a clip of a guy you can't hear......great piece.
These are the types of people that ruin it for others and it can be fatal. You can tell just by the spent firework trash they’re completely careless! The trash alone is symbolic of their behavior. Can’t fix stupid!
Since the media won't do their job and tell you the lesson this teaches you, I will: DO NOT set up multiple mortars at once. Even if you only light 1 at a time, you could accidentally ignite another and cause the now-lit one to fall over and fire sideways. Unless you have a frame holding the mortar tubes up, don't try to ignite multiple ones at once.
How is the Media NOT Doing their job??!! For days in West Michigan every local TV station did arts, reports on BEING CAREFUL with personal Fire. TV 3,8,13, ,17. If folks chose to mess around, nor Heed The Multiple Warnings, advice!?? Oh well, lol.😂
Yeah.... the media has to tow the municipal line, that fireworks are dangerous and illegal without a permit. To do as the OP has and actually offer constructive safety tips for engaging in a very popular illegal activity would put them in "aiding and abetting" legal liability territory. Basically, we had to burn the public safety in order to save the public safety.....
only idiots launch illegal fireworks in residential areas around powerlines and trees. A reason why professionals launch them from barges away from populated areas .
I was born in Michigan now been in Kentucky for many yrs, tonight it sounds like THIER blowing the mountain off for the last 2 hours😠🖑, I WISH they'd just outlaw them for real !! born in jackson mich, lived about 25 yrs there.
This is laughable. No doubt your the same group of folks who literally turn a blind eye to real vandalism. The lady who died was part the people shooting off fireworks.. and if I had to guess it was also one of their windows. Good Grief.
Yes, it's vandalism... Yes, I feel sorry for the woman's death, but I also feel feel for the car owners especially the cost of how much it will be to fix their cars and with car insurance it isn't guarantee will they cover the cost or not.
I occasionally set off fireworks, and back in the day, did so illegally. My state used to ban everything except ground fireworks. Anyway, I set them off well clear of structures and trees, never mix fireworks with alcohol, only use them as instructed (no ridiculous/dangerous pranks or alterations), don't have fireworks inventory near staged (ready to go) fireworks, never allow someone underage to handle or set them off, and store them carefully. I've never been reported (so far as I know), or had neighbors complain to me or about me (so far as I know). I've never had a visit from police concerning fireworks. Thankfully, I've never had a fireworks incident and would like to keep it that way. Please don't be an idiot and ruin it for the rest of us.
@wasntme7845 probably don't understand who they're talking about. War veterans would be my guess. Go ahead and freak em out, I'm a veteran and I wouldn't.
@@daniaannthey’re not talking about war veterans with actual PTSD from seeing their friends being blown up. They’re talking about teens who can’t handle the tough life of being children and having zero responsibilities. They all say they have PTSD from hearing words they don’t like.
I once lived in a place who had a neighbor like that a couple of blocks over. The fireworks neighbor. And my only question is, who has thousands of dollars to spend on fireworks, for no particular reason other than to entertain yourself and neighbors, blocks away, that you've never met.
@@lukewalker1051 lol. We let the kids light them because they think it's fun, not because we know it's dangerous. We supervise them to help prevent themselves from seriously hurting themselves
When I was a kid, a friend of the family used to throw a huge party and set off a big firework show. One year, the fireworks kept going towards the crowd, and one nearly hit his toddler and mother-in-law in front of me. He stopped the show and didn’t set the rest off.
Every person who bought that stuff and ignited it in a neighborhood is responsible for all of this carnage and death. Not just there, but everywhere it happens.
@@Mandy-nt2cs We don't know that. There may have been by-standers and even neighbors watching to make sure things were done safely. Hopefully someone will come forward and relieve their conscience and tell the truth.
They're waiting for the media to contact them so they can sell them the rights to the video they have. Gotta make a buck. ---- although it's hard to get a good video when you're running for your life.
Very sad. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families. I saw a fire off of the freeway. We heard 3 explosions . Scared me to deaf. I love fireworks, when used accordingly.
I once saw a kid who lost a whole face from fireworks years ago. It was so sad. I don't know if he manage to survive later because the Situation was just hopeless. I don't even want to go near fireworks now
@@denisemiller9921 i never got an update but i don't think he survived and if he did i think he is permanently disfigured because the eyes, nose, lips and everything which makes up a face was gone. Its a sight you wouldn't want to see twice
The death wouldn't have been instant unless she was holding a very powerful one in her mouth. My guess is the explosion breached an artery, the injuries from fireworks are a lot like the minor to moderate war injuries, lots of ripping, burns and some vaporization of soft tissues. Very violent injuries compared to most civilian injuries. Lots of ptsd in those partygoers for years from seeing the injuries, and all injured will carry scars 😕
Let's light off some high grade bulk fireworks within your perso AL space and see if then you can define "violence". People are de-volving into complete mouth breathers, I swear. So if something is a mishap, you wouldn't consider it a violent just because it was an accident? Hit by car by accident, that's pretty violent. Guns foes off and shoots someone in the eye on accident? Yeah, that's pretty violent. Good God man, apply some critical thinking. Holy sh!t.
I actually have two close friends who lost an eye to fireworks. Bottle rockets to be precise. Two separate incidents. I actually used to hold them in my hands and throw them upwards at the last minute until my parents caught me. Glad I didn't injure myself or anyone else.
At least you don't shoot each other. Condolences to the families/friends involved in this tragedy. Leave the fireworks to the professionals. I'm sorry to hear so many hurt, and forty-three was much too young to die! Prayers for full recoveries to the injured!
Alcohol and fireworks don't mix! You're basically dealing with a lot of gunpowder, and that explodes under the right conditions. I've poured gasoline on a brick of firecrackers but it was in the middle of a large parking lot where nothing could burn, I don't drink alcohol
From how dangerous alcohol use and explosive fireworks are when used together. To I’ve poured gas on fireworks! Huh?!? You say you don’t drink but pouring gasoline on fireworks sounds kinda like a drunkard’s 4th of July activity.
People could just not rely on fireworks to celebrate. Not only is it nonsensical but the fireworks are very harmful to animals as well and can trigger PTSD in veterans.
Have you heard of people drowning in their bathtubs? Bet you still have one in your home. Thousands of people die driving their cars? You a 100% public transportation type?
Hosting your fireworks can be a great fun thing but for saftey, don't store your fireworks in one spot have several piles and cover them with a wool blanket. I used to host shows and things sometimes got a little out of hand because volunteers would launch incorrectly, but some goggles and distance is what keeps you safe
I use ammo cans for shells set 50 feet away and leave my cakes in the building till I'm ready to light them... I've had ground explosions happen... but the difference is safety and planning and the foresight to know that fire and embers light fuses and distance is the best thing for safety of guests 🤷♂️
@@fauxque5057 ya we're lucky and it's legal here... just from the thumbnail picture though I knew they had all their fireworks piled next to eachother and so when that one ember came back down still burning the rest chain reacted. I can't fit my cakes in cans and normally they have exposed fuses covered with shipping tape so I leave them away just in case... but all of those chairs in such close vicinity too, I'm not surprised somebody lost their life.
@@davidfannin422 did they have them all together and they got set off accidentally? She didn't explain and all I saw was a pile of used fireworks that looks exactly like my house the morning after because all the used stuff gets tossed on a pile.
fireworks should never be allowed in residential neighborhoods. its incredibly stupid and dangerous yet people think they will be the exception to avoid a catastrophe
Condolences to the family of the lady that passed. I wish the public would remember, especially those who have never been in the military, that fireworks are still considered as it has always been for centuries, EXPLOSIVES! Originally created for war first and then amusement. I guarantee that many more will be hurt or possibly killed if this 'lazy man's' thinking on firework use is continued.
Purchasing fireworks is like burning your hard earned cash. I leave the shows to the professionals. An additional annoyance is the stress it puts on my pets.
As a physician there are certain scenarios where I have no sympathy for patients, including those that use fireworks, those that drive motorcycles, those shot in a gunfight. Consequences for your actions exist.
The gun fight is the only one that has merit. Not all motor cycle riders are reckless. Not all fireworks users are clueless. The super dangerous fireworks should be left in the hands of professionals. The best case scenario would be to eliminate the dangerous ones from people who don't really know how to use them, but that probably will never be possible. Just like assault weapons.
@@docbailey3265 The problem with doctors who have terrible bedside manners is that their ego can get in the way of good care. He may even be a scary doc.
Would have been nice to display the epicenter of the explosion. The fireworks trash that was filmed, is not part of the central explosion that caused the damage.
Responsibility is with the observers as well. If it looks like stupid people are involved, feel free to break away from the herd. Stupid is as stupid does.
_I would be very surprised if alcohol &/or drugs were not involved. Nevertheless, large capacity fireworks should not be in the hands of the young or inexperienced simply because they can afford them._
In the little country area where I live, the fire department does the fireworks show, and people pay a small fee to attend, which goes to support our volunteer firefighters. People say we country folks are backwards, but we at least leave the fireworks to the people who specialize in fire safety.
Every year we go thru the same thing in my neighborhood. Eventually some one will get hurt or killed and then it will stop. Until that day the police really cannot do much because the abuse is too wide spread and the rest of the law abiding people don't want to be the bad guy by complaining. Take the fireworks out in the country and risk your own lives, don't risk my life or property. In the mean time pray for lots of rain.
In the 25 years I have lived in this older quiet neighborhood, we never heard anything louder than a bottle rocket. Then the azzhole from hell moves in, cuts down all the trees on his property (150 year old oaks) and uses his front yard as a battle zone. I approached him to not fire off his display, it was making my dogs go ballistic. His response was it was only 1 day a year. I suggested if he wanted to put on an illegal show, do it in the sheriffs parking lot! He's gone now, but I can't use my backyard deck from 4 to 8 PM because it is too hot. Trees are important
@@transparentglazier I'm with you. Same problems and neighbors who could care less about the rest of us. Ten cars parked in the yard half of them unregistered and you can't get the police to even come out. Loud parties until all hours of the morning, and their guests leave empty bottles and garbage on the lawns and in the street. Why would anyone want to screw up their own living space is beyond me.
I've heard of all kinds of injuries and fireworks mutilations, but dying from fireworks? Never heard of someone actually being killed by fireworks. That's..toooo much fireworks
Try putting a mortar ball inside the tube upside down. I've also had them fail to launch very high but the ball still does it's thing. A ground detonation isn't as bad as one about 10' off the ground
My wife had hand surgery and got her stitches out at the surgeons office yesterday 7-3-23. He said tomorrow will be a very busy day for us we are all on standby. And yup we got that one jackass neighbor that spends hundreds of dollars on fireworks and all night long its like D Day.
we had big explosions in Pittsburg CA our home around the corner from the police station, it went on for hours, our house shaking continuously, then we hear houses in fire, it was a first time nightmare for many seniors babies and pets
Ban fire work in the country for residents, whoever fire 1 boom !! Call cob yo give them a big tickets Up to $ 1000 fine, fire crackers it’s not save for community and yards, house, etc, government should ban for personal use of these dangers health hazard explodes,
Projectile fireworks are illegal where I live, but the police don't enforce the law. This leads to a state of lawlessness every July 4th. Are these people really celebrating the founding of the nation? I don't think so. The name of the holiday should be changed to "Fireworks Day."
We used to set up fireworks displays. One year was the best. I also learned from a professional. It was a concern while we had it all stored. With supervision while the show was going off. Our space was larger. This area is too congested. And yes, it is a mess! Pickup, rack, sweep, and continue to pick up remnants for evverrr.
I see a ton of mortar tubes and zero blocks. Those tubes require blocks to hold them in place so they dont fall over. Same with those large box "Cake" fireworks. They need held in place with blocks...sad scene..
Only way a mortar falls over is if a person kicks it over. If it's so windy that the wind is blowing over the tubes it's too windy to be lighting fireworks in the first place. Don't bother trying to say that launching the mortar will knock it over because by the time the detonation occurs that mortar has cleared the tube and is well on it's way. But I have seen people drop the mortar in the tube upside down and that's when the fun really begins. Granted in that case blocks would contain a blast, but it could also create concrete shrapnel which would be far worse than flaming balls and sparks going everywhere
@pandaberserk3390 yes the multi shot cakes can turn on their side. I set off a firework display every 4th. A coupl3 years ago my father who had never done large works didn't use blocks and the cake shot right into the crowd almost hitting my pregnant wife
About 5 years ago somewhere in Visalia Ca an old man died in his sleep after a 4th of July firework ignited a tee and his roof. His house and tree were dry as a bone and burned quickly. I still dont understand some people's fascination with pyrotechnics. The fanfare and celebration of it all hide the true dangers but who cares right.....God Bless America... land that I love, stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above!!!! 💯 🙋♂️🇺🇸
Wow, I’m so glad my drunkard neighbor who used to set off fireworks moved away years ago. I mean, it used to be quite amusing to sit on the front porch and watch him almost set himself on fire trying to set off fireworks, but dang, he could have burned the whole neighborhood down. 😂😂
Let's all acknowledge how dumb that sounds. I'm thinking you're a trump fan trying to make excuses. Although, this does have all the hallmarks of a Ya'll Queada event gone wrong. Surprisingly, they managed to put their trump flags away, but not the evidence. Speaking of which...where's the police tape? Isn't this a crime scene?
Dude got his Celsius energy drink from all his partying and mayhem from last night. All kidding aside, these are adults with teens being extremely irresponsible with explosives and booze.
