A woman has died after being struck by a fallen tree in Adelaide.
The victim was sitting under a gum tree at the University of Adelaide when the incident unfolded just before 3pm yesterday.
Despite attempts from paramedics to revive her, she died at the scene.
Arborists and police have since secured the area.
A first responder said it appeared she was doing “nothing more than sitting on the lawn, having something to drink”.

It must have got back up, jumped her, then laid down the ground-and-pound.

I feel so bad for that lady. Councils use to cut trees back to prevent them from doing this. I am a resident in Camden NSW and the council does nothing yet charge very high rates. Unfortunately alot of the trees are just accidents waiting to happen.

Eight years ago I was walking in a North Adelaide park... and I spotted a young woman in jogging gear squatting under a big tree. She looked away when she saw me looking at her... So I looked away. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her stand-up and pull her shorts up... she was peeing... I wonder whether it is the same park

In singapore this happened more than once. The french man who lost his wife to the fallen tembusu tree in botanic gardens successfully sued the national parks for an undisclosed amount of money. The second time it happened to a local chinese singaporean and true to form they did not exercise their legal rights to sue the park for failing to provide safe public spaces. The State Coroner was brought in to ascertain this because once is a freak accident twice it is not although the public in singapore is not clued up on their rights in personal injury claims here partly because most are not lawyers and the lawyers here are quite afraid to take on the govt or govt owned entities even when in such cases the family should be compesated same with unnatural deaths in prisons and other institutions unlike in America where access to justice is better because you have more ambulance chaser lawyers and juries that will teach people safety comes first. But there was a hint at the possibility that maybe these fallen trees causing premature deaths of women in parks was covert assasination attempts by the "deep state" or some foreign interference assasins so the State Coroner came in because there was a whiff of it being neferarious conducted by morally bankrupt people here in singapore.

She was an international student from Indonesia studying at Adelaide University. She wouldn't have known about the dangers of rotting gum trees that local councils do nothing about in the name of preserving flora and fauna.
