My pittie also loves car rides, we take her with us on our vacations. On one of our trips we found a 145 acre off leash dog park and I think she was in heaven. I also think she likes the mountains she gets so excited on our little adventures. Her happiness makes me happy.

Even when they are not treated so well, or even roughly, Pitbulls, and all dogs, really, have that innate ability to love a person that treats them well. My young pibble bounced back from a questionable past, and now safe in my loving home. He even adopted himself a stray cat that we took in with colors similar to him, lol!

I think Lambie reminds him of his lost friend, it has the same size and he can cuddle and feel better when you're away.. Norman is a precious and sensitive dog. I love him, and he's very lucky to be with you..! (and the other way around too!)

His expression after the car rides is so much more relaxed. My dog Skye was a neglected rescue at 10 months, who really bonded with my cat Bernie. When the cat passed away after 17 years, my dog Skye took it hard. She would constantly check the rooms of our house for his buddy. It took a few months of extra attention but she got over it, and is no longer triggered by neighborhood cats when we go out on walks now.

Poor little guy! Such a handsome, smart boy and so sad he was in the shelter for so long and then lost his best friend. Bless his lovely Mom for understanding what he needs and helping him along. My mini Schnauzer came home with babies and I could not give away any of them. After 6 years Olive went on to doggie heaven at 15. I was a mess for over a month, I was amazed that the 'kids' were full speed ahead, didn't seem to miss the best mom dog ever.
