A family of seven must find a new place to life after finding out the Brevard County home they were staying in and paying rent for is actually a Habitat for Humanity Home that was built for another family.
One of the houses on my street that is a Habitat house did the exact same thing! The homeowners do not live there. Habitat knows. They do not care because the people that are living there, are paying the mortgage anyway through the rent they pay to the actual owner.
Reading these comments and seeing people that do not know what they are talking about should look into something before calling these people are getting free stuff instead of working for it . Also, if they pay the mortgage, why can't they do what they want? If you live in a neighborhood with an HOA, you can't do what you want there. And you pay dues to let other people tell you what you can and cannot do with your house. The recipients of Habitat have to contribute to the build. There is a strict application process.They help build it. They pay a mortgage, insurance,taxes and any bills every homeowner does. It's not welfare. People donate time and money to help struggling families to have a safe home. Where they can thrive.
You need to go read THYE DONT DO NOTHING FOR FREE. You pay for the home and help them build the home it not a free welfare home. It is a real deal homeowner situation for LESS
Are the property taxes cheaper on a Habitat for Humanity home? It's not worth paying more than 500 a year on property taxes. I have a finding a house in my own town. The property taxes are $1200 a year with is crazy and I make $580-$630 a week.
Because Habitat for Humanity is a program that builds homes for people on low incomes, using free labor from volunteers like myself. It is meant to help those most in need, not those who want to line their pockets
I know this is old but my god that poor woman. I’m assuming she paid them a deposit like you normally do, rent, utilities then to be kicked out of your home when it’s not even your fault. I really really hope she got all of that money back so she was able to quickly get a new place to stay.
Somebody explain this to me because I am in-between picking them or US bank. I have been approved at both places. I don't want to make a bad investment. I only make about 46,000 a year before taxes and now I'm scared, I only pay $1000 a mnth now for rent and we have been living here 4 years we love our house it's a 5bdr 2bth I dont want to end up regretting giving up this house the owner is amazing.🥴
You syill are paying a 30yr mortage on it, so why does it matter? Over 250hours of free work volenteering just to quallify for a home and then you still takr out two mortgages in order to be able to move in..... Its not that you are living there for free. Thats wack.
I wanted to get a Habitat home to rent out and use to help build my dream home but habitat has way to many rules......you can’t design your home or really have a say in where it’s built or anything and now I can’t even use my home how I please..... I’ll just do it the old fashioned way.
The house has be paid off before you can rent out. It's not fair for someone else to pay for mortgage on your house. Your mortgage is your responsibility. Imagine a mortgage costing $300 a month and you ripped someone off by renting the house out to them for $1800 a month and the property taxes is only $400 a year?
@@Thinker669 but that’s what is being done now? However the biggest issue for me not being able to build my home where or how I want it. I am very firm in continuing to live in the school zone my children attend school in because it’s a great school for us and I refuse to give that up. And also I have a visione for how I want my home and I don’t see myself getting that from habitat
@BARF it isn’t free but it is hella cheap, and I don’t understand the people complaining they don’t have to pay interest on their mortgage and they also don’t have to have a down payment. I’m really disappointed that someone people are trying to profit off of it instead of using for what it’s made for.
