A woman who's lived in Canada for 18 years is being deported. Pam Seatle spoke to her about how it feels to be forced out of the country she calls home and the four days notice she was given to pack up and head back to France.
@@tripdiz1341 That's an excuse, you cannot be a refugee from a first world country like France, England, Canada, or the United States. That's like claiming you drowned in a desert.
@@CanMan-pd9vh what type of refugee status can you claim from France? France is a republic, France has a strong economy, France does not have any type of Roar, meaning, political or civil. You cannot claim Refugee status based on a high crime area.. if that was the case that would be thousands of people fleeing Canada.
@@wildearth3992 Covid didn’t occur 18 years ago. What would you need to escape from in France? I would go back to France. Friends and family can visit her there.
I mean her situation is unfortunate but you're right. White ppl in the comment section won't talk about these illegal immigrants but will insult those that came here legally and was given PR.
For real you got all these low income people along with immigrates milking the system and you want to go and take someone like this out of the country 🤦🏽♂️🤯
Mister Reality that’s a bit harsh but I guess u think because of my name I’m probably young and play games 🤦🏽♂️ makes sense but how bout u explain yourself?? Why am I a peasant? What do you know about those out here working the system?
James Connell I’m saying that they’re focusing on the wrong group of people. Chasing those who they can by paper but you have all these others working the system not doing anything for the city and you want to go and send someone like this back who actually has a legit job and pays taxes 🤦🏽♂️
This is crazy to me, I brought my mom from El Salvador as a US permanent resident in May of 2019. I filed all the paper work and here she is now. You can't just leave everything to the lawyer without you getting involved. I feel bad for her. I am 32 year now myself. In other words we need to read and learn. I became a US citizen all by myself 🇺🇸😎
Guys before saying racist comments . Remember that refugees and immigrants help built this country , we love and defend this country just like you . God bless Canada .
@@explorerfoxy my freund before i became a regugee i spent 100k on my education here ,,my comoany hire 3 people and pay tax while u sitting on the couch drinking bear
@@monahnd3425 Study permit first and then apply for refuge is a scam. Meaning by you did not qualify for residency based on your education. Whatever you did, your commutation skills are very bad. You better join a language course.
@@monahnd3425 I am a colored and not a white person. No question of being a racist. The biggest racist are those people who call other persons racist. Don't play a victim card like Muslims. On second thought I am sure you are a Muslim. My ancestors were killed by Muslims. Muslims killed all the non muslims of that area. There are Islamic Countries where non muslims are considered as animals.
Sorry times up you need to go good job immigration canada she was more than aware not like it was a year over due years and she old enough to know it was illegal but yet she gets canadian money noway sorry do it the proper way like everyone else .whats good for the goose is good for the gander
@Eamon O'Connell no interest in your conspiracy theories justifying bs. She ignored deportation orders and had plenty of notice. Law is the law, and it applies to everyone. She speaks English and just ignored the orders, she placed herself in this situation at some point in the last decade.
@Eamon O'Connell I'm not aware of any 1:1 comparisons you can make to this case where similar cases allowed racial minorities to stay and forced this white woman to go. Cite similar cases to justify your claim, and I'd consider. Can't do that? You're racist and I've got no reason to speak to you further.
Immigration should have A system that will consider person's age when they enter Canada, good conduct, and financial status. She is not even dependent on the social funding, why not give her consideration? In fact she may be of help to the economy, as she is an entrepreneur and has value to the community.
@@tenstudionews9731 she was deported back a in Paris. She now live in a Islamic neighborhood where she cannot go out without the hijab without getting sexually assaulted
I think the point is that she didn’t know until now that she was in the wrong and is willing to make it right. You telling me that the government has been hounding her for 18 years and she was just ignoring them? She was given poor advice!! They sure didn’t mind taxing her income for X amount of years though.
@@bigsteed007 As soon as her refugee application was refused, her and her mother would have been issued a removal order. If they didn't show up for the removal. They would have had a warrant for arrest and removal since then. So they've been hiding, not paying taxes, etc. She's probably trying to "do the right thing" now that she's been caught.
Like the news story said, their immigration consultant **SUGGESTED** that they apply for Refugee Status, which was bad advice and so that's what kind of got her into this mess. But at least the government did something and stopped her deportation.
I feel some sympathy for her. She is now 28 the last order would have been sent to her mother in 2006 which her mother ignored (at the time she was maybe 14) she would not have had a clue about what happened as a minor, since she was only 6 when she arrived. She should have dealt with this when she was 18 but 10 years have passed...she seems to be contributing and well spoken it's a tough call. She could go back to France and reapply as a landed immigrant - perhaps that would save face for the government and for her to get in legally. No idea why her mother thought a refugee application was a good idea from France of all places...
she is 30 and lol I don't know how she generated an income and paid taxes this whole time she claims to have a cleaning business. You can't work in Canada without a sin# and you only get that if you are legal permanent resident, Canadian citizen or have a work permit. The only other way to get employment would be to work under the table paying no taxes or working under fake id using someone else's SIN. Whole thing sounds fishy.
Trudeau going to have to establish a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program in Canada now - people don't realize there is probably thousands like her scattered across the country mostly in the major cities. They all want similar relief from potentially being deported if they are caught. I have no problem giving it to them since most of them are young but I would enforce the condition that they have to resettle in Manitoba, Northern Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces - areas in Canada experiencing population decline, aging demographics and high job vacancy numbers. We don't need people who didn't follow the rules further overcrowding cities like Toronto and Vancouver where the cost of living is rising every year.
She is attractive is that why she made the news? Based on that Raptors the shot memorabilia on her wall I am guessing she has a boyfriend or common-law partner. Why doesn't she get married or better yet have a kid who becomes a Canadian citizen I feel like that would be way too strong of a case to deport her.
In her 20,s to 30 she never thought once to fix this..theres more to the story than just that...how did she even get a social insurance number to pay taxs ? Its Stinks...Bye bye
Well even if she was sent back, she doesn't have anything in France that would help her while Canada is reviewing her. But a few months after this video, the government did something at least and gave her work and study permits, and halted her deportation.
I think she has a boyfriend based on that Raptors memorabilia on the wall. Lol I don't know many women who would dole out cash for that even the ones into sports.
As a whole blooded Canadian this is absolutely shameful. She is just as Canadian anyone else in this country. She has basically spent her whole life here. She should have been allowed to stay
