It has amazed me for over 50 years how the black soldiers I had the honor to serve could display such bravery and honor knowing they would be second-class citizens the minute they stepped off the plane on their return to the 'world'.

Any soldier should be thanked for their service to their country, race, creed or color should have nothing to do with it, after all, if they were not defending your rights to live the life you are leading, then who would?

How insulting, if he was given a first class ticket, that’s it. The reason he got the ticket is valid and correct, he’s an active duty military. It’s called respect and more importantly appreciation of his willingness to serve and if necessary to make the ultimate sacrifice if called upon. We, as US citizens , are bound to support and ensure that our military is cared for going forward until Taps is played over them.

If he was not upgraded to first class, then no one is required to give up their seat for him simply because he is a veteran. I also question this entire story as most these things are completely made up. How can anyone refuse to let a ticketed passenger sit in their assigned seat? Please.
