It’s not the job of the police to dole out their own brand of street justice. Hopefully, incarceration and getting her off the street and away from normal, law abiding people will be her punishment. But there’s no reason for the police to beat someone’s ass just because they did something illegal. That’s so stupid. Why do we in the US expect and even support that type of behavior from members of law enforcement? The cops are there to ensure everyone’s safety…to ensure that others are safe from the actions of people like this woman, but also for her safety. People have all types of reasons for doing the things they do…she could just be a criminal, but people who have issues with their blood sugar also have incidents that cause them to do things like this and to hallucinate. As do people who are on drugs and aren’t in their right mind. And the cops have no way of knowing right away which is which, or what is going on with the person. So their duty is to ensure that the person is subdued, handcuffed, taken into custody, and if they’re willing, interrogated. There’s absolutely no need for violence, especially toward a person who isn’t being violent, themselves.

Unfortunately I don't even think this is drugs, just pure mental derangement, should be in a facility. This pursuit proved she's too dangerous to be out in Public.

The US justice system seems utterly unbalanced, you can get serious jail time for possession of mostly harmless substances such as cannabis, but then, violent and dangerous repeat offenders are given a slap in the wrist and released back to society in a couple of weeks or even days.

Bail just means being free from sitting in jail while one's case is being prosecuted, not being free from prosecution to begin with. These are just constitutional rights all of us enjoy in democratic societies. It’s legal and it’s our right as citizens of this country to post bail and get out of jail until our cases are tried. How is this difficult to understand?

They let the suspect bail because it will make the county/city more money. The judge will more than likely hand down a pretty decent sentence.

I definitely think these felony fleeing charges need much stricter sentences. They are often more dangerous than anything the criminal did leading up to their arrest. The fact is millions of people die every year from car crashes. It's one of the top avoidable causes of death. They should treat these incidents more like potential homicides than just a nuisance to the cops.
